Verified ReviewerHarassment of veterans, citizens, and business owners
The city police let the landlord come in and tear out the thermostat and move it to another unit, so we couldn't control our own heat, even though the electric is in our name. We have been harassed by the city water and trash company almost since the day we opened our business.
The city has an ordinance about what time you can put your trash out, but not one to keep people from digging through it, including the men picking up the trash. We had neighbors say they watched the trash men digging through the trash while they were supposed to be putting it in the trash truck and then leaving trash thrown all over the ground. We all agreed to have the trash at the side of our building to make it safer for them to pick it up so they wouldn't be out in traffic, and we would have 3 pick ups a week, which they would forget to pick it up or say their truck was "full" and it would sit there for 3 days till they finally picked it up. The city workers also said they don't want veterans or disabled vets running businesses in their city.
The city is refusing to pick our trash up after Feb 28, 2018 and is trying to force us to pay for a dumpster for the trash, even though our trash is included in our lease. Ron from the sanitation department said he didn't care if our trash is included or not, they still aren't going to pick it up. But they can take our money when my husband goes out and gives them $10-$20 each for working so hard to get something to drink when it's hot out or something to warm them up when it's cold. Not one time has the city said thank you for giving the needy food for thanksgiving and Christmas.
We fed around 35 families for Thanksgiving and another 46 for Christmas as well as donated food to Friends of the Homeless as well as donating clothing to the homeless as well as to veterans who need clothing and food. We must not have gotten a Thank You because we don't belong to the 'Good ole Boys Club' and because we aren't rich.
Preferred solution: Full refund
