My review is based on City Garage's documented business practices and my personal experience. Before you give a mechanic your hard-earned money, do your research.

I read the consumer complaint against City Garage on the FDACS.gov website.

Anyone can read it, because it's a public record. Logan and Jacob are mentioned throughout the report in a very unfavorable light. Illegal business practices are noted in the report. That was my experience with City Garage.

The FL Dept. of Agriculture holds their license. They cited them for breaking the law multiple times.

In their written reply to the complaint, they give no indication they will stop putting used parts in vehicles without first informing the customer in writing. Beware!

They believe used parts are a "benefit" to customers. Lol

When I left City Garage, I felt ripped off and duped. Logan talked to me on the phone, but never disclosed that he had put a used part in my car that turned out to be a real problem. That's called lying by omission.

He should have been honest with me. I paid good money for a used piece of crap! Did City Garage care? Nope!

Do you want to use a mechanic who breaks the law?

Do you want to use a mechanic who cares nothing about customers? I lost a lot of money because I trusted City Garage. Never, never again!

Below, is the letter that City Garage received from the state of FL who holds their license that notes their customer service violations under FL law. They did this to me.

I got ripped off! Stay clear of this business and find a reputable auto mechanic who can help you.

Dear Sir or Madam: According to information received in this office involving a consumer complaint, it appears that your organization failed to comply with requirements under the Motor Vehicle Repair Act, Chapter 559, Florida Statutes. A review of documents provided by you and/or the consumer indicates information is not being supplied on the estimate/invoice form or that certain information is incomplete. This is a violation of Sections 559.905 and/or 559.911, Florida Statutes.

A complete list of required information for estimate/invoice forms is available at FDACS.gov. Failure to comply with this law may subject you to an administrative action.

The most irresponsible and incompetent mechanic in Lakeland. They did not fix my car.

I am going to stick to the facts: They lied to me and took advantage of me. After I paid them hundreds of dollars, they did not repair my car. They kept my money and would not stand behind their work. Shop manager (LOL) and former tire salesman Logan is slippery.

He believes that car repair is an "inexact science", so if City Garage does not repair your car after you plop down your hard-earned money, that's just tough luck. That's what happened to me. Customers should not be guinea pigs. It's a roll of the dice with City Garage, a risk that you would not take with a mechanic who knows what they are doing.

In that atmosphere, it's impossible for Customer Service Manager Jason to provide quality service. You can either pay City Garage more money for a second or third try to get your car fixed, (NOPE) or go somewhere else.

I went someplace else, and I am glad I did. I will never go back to City Garage.

Cheats, liars, and thieves are what you will find at City Garage. Cheats because they installed a piece of used junk in our car without without our knowledge.

Liars because they lied to us. Thieves because they took our money and we got nothing for it.
I took my 80-year old mother to City Garage. She paid $700 to get her car repaired, but soon after she paid this amount in full, we found out the car's idling problem had not been fixed. We discovered this after being stranded in the unbearable 90-degree heat for 45 minutes.

City Garage had misdiagnosed what caused the car to shut down when idling. For my elderly mother, $700 was a lot of money!
Jacob, the person who advised us on the repair, turned out to know nothing about cars. He worked for the company as a bookkeeper. He pretended to be someone who he was not.

That is fraud! We did not know that at the time. He never gave us a written estimate, nor did he disclose in a written statement on the invoice that he had sold us a used alternator, instead of a new one. By not doing so, he broke state laws.

We thought we were buying a new one. Lies, deceit, and fraud is what you will get at City Garage!
The alternator that he sold us back in June did not work charging the battery on day one and had to be replaced in September. My mother paid $700 for an alternator that lasted 3 months because it was used. Total Junk!

The mechanic told us that City Garage had not connected the battery to the alternator properly and that the connections were filthy. These were clear signs of their incompetence. Hundreds of more dollars were spent to replace the alternator. City Garage misrepresented Jacob as a competent advisor and, according to Manager Logan, they did nothing wrong.

City Garage believes that it is okay to have someone with no knowledge of cars advising customers on repairs.

That is the sort of deplorable ethics you will get at City Garage, who say they give "Big Time Service." lol Stay away from City Garage. In my opinion, they are untrustworthy and incompetent.
