I'm going to give this scam artist 0 stars.we waited for our pics from our sons third birthday party.they never came.we tried contacting him numerous times.finally I friended him on FB and posted what I thought of him on his page.surprise surprise the verbal threats began.he finally sent something.the pics were terrible.they were finally sent 6 months after the shoot.they weren't proofed and there were about 1200 pics to go through.we bought it on a groupon.we bought three of them.i threw the other two away.we told groupon but they're only concerned with making money.....feel free to contact me. I'd love to get a few of us to file charges.he took us for$600.00 Greg.catramados@***.com

Maybe since it was Groupon it was a total backup and the pics got muffled in the mix of things. Just saying still sucks and wrong not to reply after spending 600 bucks.

I have seen this happen to Groupon. I got a Groupon pizza and waited like an hour and half because of Groupon purchases.

City Dock Photography - Joe Heimbach - Ripped me off

The owner, Joe Heimbach, arrived 45 minutes late to our photo shoot of our baby son in November 2012. He promised digital photos within 2 weeks and prints within 4 weeks. It is now June and despite repeated promises and excuses on his part we have not received any photos or a refund.

We paid this guy $400 on top of the $59 groupon we bought.

Based on all of the other similar reviews on this site and others, we have contacted the BBB and are filing a complaint with the PD.

He has made several different excuses over the last 7 months. He has promised us photos within a week several different times. He refuses to agree to or send us a refund.

City Dock is a rip off

Unlike the other complaint, we actually got the disk, but it had horrible pictures. Out of 600+ shots only a dozen where remotely worth keeping.

The deal on Groupon was not adhered to and we were manipulated into paying Joe more money to get him to agree to do the job. We paid an extra $200after negotiating for 30-60 minutes and finally agreed to $200 with a promise to give him more once we saw the proofs. The deal was we were to get touch-ups and a multitude of prints. We never heard back from Joe after we got the disk despite several emails.

His website looks great--the actual product, response/communication and product were horrible.

I use Groupon often and this was my worst experience by far. Don't use Joe or City Dock--horrible expereince!

Never Received Photos - PAID FOR THEM!

On June 1, 2012, my daughter, her best friend and I met City Dock Photography employee/owner/photographer Joe Heimbach at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD for my daughter's senior (high school) photos. Let me also mention that I initially purchased the session through Groupon.com. They are useless by the way.

As to the photo session...first, the guy was late - almost an hour. Second, we were told it would take about an hour - it took 2 1/2 hours. Finally, at the end of the shoot (now after 7:00 p.m.) I wrote him a check for $350.00 and we were told we would have the CD of all 600-700 photos in about a week. My check cleared exactly 7 days later. Today is April 5, 2013 and not only do we not have her photos, but I didn't get a dime of my money back. Good thing I'm a paralegal and have filed a small claim lawsuit against him and the company. They evaded service for a couple of months, but I had a Motion for Alternative Service granted and they are officially "served".

My daughter graduates on May 31 and has no professional senior pictures (she got the cap and gown shots thru her school). I'm out over $400 and now have to hire another photographer, and PAY MORE MONEY because these I fell for these folks' game. Trial won't happen until summer if we're lucky and by that time, she'll be getting ready to start college.

FAIR WARNING: Groupon is still working w/this company, even though they know what happened to us. Groupon did NOTHING to help, they were completely useless and I will never use them (or City Dock Photography) again.

PLEASE - do not give City Dock Photography or Joe Heimbach a dime of your money!!! You will get nothing in return except the run-around for months and an eventual migraine. They are not BBB accredited and I also filed a complaint with the Maryland Attorney General. Yelp.com also has a number of complaints about them.

Update: Trial went forward on July 11, 2013 and surprisingly, he showed up. The judge had us try mediation but that was a waste of time.

At trial, he actually tried to blame ME! Thankfully, the judge didn't buy it and judgment was entered in my favor for $350.00 plus costs.

It is now May 1, 2014 and I still don't have any of my money (and interest is accruing). I am looking into options available to me as I can't afford to issue garnishments to every bank in the area to try to find where they bank.

LESSON LEARNED.
