Verified ReviewerMy dog is traumatized and was abused so bad during a 18 hour commute
I've never used Citizenshiper. I decided to use them, so I took a bid from a driver to transfer my dog from Kansas to Florida. Everything seemed just fine at first. The driver called me after I accepted his bid, told me his name, and told me a little bit about his experience. After paying, he called me two hours later, stating that someone else would be picking up my dog, which I'm sure he broke the protocol of the company, Citizenshiper. The new driver, who was supposed to contact me, didn't contact me until almost two days later. The original driver called back and asked if he was contacting me, so I guess he contacted the driver and had him call me. The moral of the story is I had no tracking of where my dog and the driver were, and they all used encrypted messages not through the platform of the company. The dog breeder and I were receiving messages during the 18 hours of travel with the dog, which were *** messages that didn't add up. I came to find out they were sent encrypted, so neither the breeder nor I have any traces of the messages now; they deleted themselves or disappeared like you do when you use encrypted messages.
Well, McDonald shows up when the driver calls me, which is all messed up because he called me just two hours prior and said it would be 10 hours, and then two hours later he's here. My dog is in the back of the SUV in a crate that is too small, and I notice there's no water, no kibbles, not even a drop of water, and no sign of a water bowl being there or a sign of kibbles ever being there. I'm looking at it, and there's no pan underneath the cage or crate, whatever you want to call it, so if the dog spilled the water, it wouldn't get into your vehicle, or if the dog accidentally pottied or something. Anyone that normally messes with dogs would know to put a pan or a mat underneath the dog cage. I see my dog sitting there in the cage, shaking like a leaf. I reach over to open up the cage, and I can't get him out; he tries to turn around and face the other way. I go to the other side; he does the same thing. He would not even let me get him out of the cage, and he's scared to death. I asked the driver if he had eaten or drunk anything over 18 hours, and the driver said no. Looking at the carpet in the back of the SUV, you can tell it's just recently vacuumed. It looks like it may have been carpet shampooed, so I'm thinking at that point that maybe my dog, who has never been off the farm, got nervous and pottied in the cage, but he's smart enough to know to potty outside the cage. It's a boy dog, you know.
So I'm looking at this driver, and I'm like, uh-huh, I want ex-law enforcement for a long time, and I have developed investigative senses and kept 360 awareness of situations around. But it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure this out. So the driver is arguing with me about taking his little cage apart so I can get my dog out. I mean, come on, this crate is barely bigger than my dog. The dog can turn around in there, that's it. No more than the $40 crate, but we're talking about a $4,000 something dog that's ruined for life after this trip. I was just talking to my dog on the phone before the driver got there, and he was licking my phone and wagging his tail. My dog has tucked his tail between his legs since he's been here unless he's sleeping. I have to carry him outside to urinate. He is scared to death of everybody; he shakes 24/7. He hides under everything. He has not barked, he has not wagged his tail, and he has not made one noise. He is scared of everything.
Whatever this driver did during that 18 hours had to be horrific, according to two behavioral trainers and a veterinarian well known in the bulldog market. There is a cross opinion between two veterinarians and one veteran behavioral trainer with over 30 years of experience, stating that the dog has to be put down because he has been traumatized too much and can never recover. I have literally spent thousands of dollars because I love my dog. I'm having at this point right now with two trainers, and if two trainers have to show up for a session, it's over $1,000 a day. My dog is being helped out by two behavioral trainers because he requires so much time to be spent with him every day. We have to bring his personality and confidence back, and they are even stating if we can't do that within three months, you know it's over.
The *** with this Citizenshiper company. I have tried to contact them to let them know that we, the breeder, who the dog was picked up from, have no evidence, nothing to know how to get in touch with this driver that subcontracted what looks like his own work. I have sent numerous emails pleading with them to let me know I contracted it out so I could inform the local state that they're in of what happened, so they would never be able to transport any dogs hopefully again and hopefully have their license suspended, business license, and hopefully criminal charges, but at least an investigation to take place so this doesn't happen to anybody else when these people get their hands on their animals.
So I reach out and try to get Citizenshiper to help me, and they will not return any calls. I cannot call them; it’s a terrible company to try to get any kind of support from. I can tell you one thing: I wouldn't recommend them to ship a piece of *** steel, much less a live animal, because undoubtedly they do not supervise or keep track of the drivers that they promote. They just want their money, or they would know just from the reviews that I have read. The drivers out there are subcontracting their work, and these crooks and con artists are not drivers that are registered with Citizenshipers to be promoted by them as a company with multiple employees. No, they are registered as individual drivers, as you notice on their site. You will see companies stating we have 14 employees, multiple employees, multiple locations. Those are honest companies stating that they have multiple employees for the job. Then you see that you have individual drivers, and they register themselves. Some of them say they have two or three small businesses.
The driver that I accepted the bid with called me, stating he would be picking up my dog and explaining details of the trip and what to expect. Wow, would you believe that not one *** thing went as he stated? After paying and contracting him out for the shipment, and Citizenshipers gets their referral fees from me for his contract, he knows he's locked in. He calls the other driver two hours later. During the conversation with him, he states that someone else is picking up the dog, not him. Now, like I stated earlier, it's okay; he's a good driver. So now without Citizenshiper's help, I am stuck with thousands of dollars in bills trying to save my dog, which was totally fine. I have been talking to him, videoing with him, seeing him play, wag his tail, and lick the phone, barking at me many times, waiting for the day that he would be ready to go. I mean, I was just looking at the dog and speaking to him about 10 minutes before the driver showed up. Now it’s impossible to get in touch with this Citizenshiper company to just ask them for some help or to give me some information, but no, they have to ignore me and make my problem 10,000 times worse with more stress. The dog was supposed to be a stress reliever. My wife recently passed away, and the dog was supposed to be a relief for me, but instead, it has been one headache. I was already attached to the dog before they shipped it.
If anybody out there has ever had a loved one pass away, I guess you can feel the way that I'm feeling. That's why I did not put the dog down when it was recommended; I went the other route, which is costing lots of money to take the chance to see if I can save him for himself and for me. But it just shows you the lack of care and customer service ability that this company has; they just do not give a *** about anyone, not even about what their drivers do, as long as they don't have their hands tied into it. They just want their referral fees, which this company is owned by one guy. If you do the research, they try to blow it out like there's some big, major thing with call centers and everything; they don't have one *** call center. You probably have one guy sitting behind a desk reading his emails, talking about all of them, every damn last one of the idiots that work for him and the customers, and with a smile. But that's alright; they have a nice place called *** for someone like that.
He may wish he goes there before I get my *** hands on him. If I don't hear anything from this company, I'm going to take them right along with a lawsuit and press charges against them by whatever state he's in, Texas. I will use the state attorney in Texas, and I can’t find out who the driver is or where he is at, but with investigations, all this will come out in the open, and I will use that state's attorney to press criminal charges against them and combine them with interstate charges as a conspiracy since they both want to break the laws and do people wrong. I would say Citizenshiper is just breaking the law, but they're doing people wrong. If they're protecting the driver by not answering my questions, that would involve them and would consider them involved in a criminal conspiracy, which they are not into all the business ethical parts of the statutes and everything on that end, but it is a criminal offense, and it is a felony; I do know that much.
But as it is now, for anyone out there, I highly recommend never use this company. If you even hear the name of the company, especially if you're around somebody, if you've ever read this article, mention it to people. No one in their right mind after what happened to me, not stating that it’s Citizenshiper's fault, but I am stating that now, for two months, I have emailed every type of email I could to customer service. I've even tried to act like I'm a driver and emailed them. I have looked up current law enforcement associated with information that they can provide me with this guy's number, that you can find out his name by looking it up alone. There are two people answering the phone, a male and a female, and they're playing practical games on the other end of the phone when I ask to speak to the subject that I’m calling about. They make smart-ass comic remarks, then take back crazy remarks. I was very polite and conservative and just asked, 'Is this the person's name stated in Citizenshiper?' Well, I was instantly hung up on the first call, so I thought I may have dropped the call. Then I called back, a female answers, makes a smart remark with the male obviously telling her what to say in the background, and hangs up. I called back and said, 'Hey, look, I just need to know this. I have a problem, and it's very urgent.' Then I made fun of with both of them laughing. But you know, I'm an old-fashioned kind of guy. Since I can't work because it’s 24/7 that I have to try to revive my dog here if it's possible, which is alone costing me probably $90,000 or more for me not being able to work, but I'm committed, especially after losing a loved one; I don't want to lose even my dog. I don't want to lose anything.
And I guess that's what these people don't understand; I don't want to lose anything, even my pride, my dignity, my reputation. Because if I don't hear from this company, and I have to go into a more thorough investigation to track these people down and spend more money and more resources, if I find out that it's who answered that phone call and spoke to me that way, the owner of Citizenshiper, they better hope not, and it was the smart *** That would be the straw that broke the camel's back. Well, like I said, I'm a fair man; I consider myself one. I've served the community, protected, did everything I can to help people, and still do; I'm just a good old farm boy that was raised to do right, a firm believer also in nipping bad situations and problems in the butt before they cause you anymore inconveniences. By putting a BIG can of get right on someone that causes me and others these problems in our society, and after just passing them on down to local law enforcement so they can step in and explain to them what just happened and why it was wrong, normally while in route or transporting them for their medical treatment from that big can of get right that they caused to drop on them, caused from lack of respect and not knowing or caring how they carry themselves, and also took for granted that very heavy can of old-time get right.
User's recommendation: Definitely do not use them to transport something that's alive which I wouldn't even trust him after all this with a piece of steel. There are other companies out there that have customer service if something goes wrong you can contact them and a more reasonable price This was the first time I ever had to use a company of such Never expected this outcome couldn't even fathom something like this happening. But there are some very ugly people out there in this world that care nothing about their product and their consumers that use it all they care about is money and greed but they have a place for those people Just a matter of time Just in case they read this I'm sure they can guess what it is Its hotter than??? let me give Them a clue. fairly Saying it's like they don't even wanna help For three weeks almost a month I've given every chance to respond That's terrible isn't it That shows you that they just do not care so word of advice if you read all this you should have enough sense to know to stay far away from him especially doing any business with him not only their bad business ethnics They seem to be bad people also so you know what the saying is the apple don't fall far from the tree So other words don't walk in the corner of the cow field and You clearly see where the cows do their business. So you avoid Because don't wanna be smelling like cow ??? ..l give you a clue, It starts with letter S. So every situation always dictates An outcome. So stay away Never used them not even the ship a blank envelope with a stamp on it and you won't have to worry about most likely a negative outcome and just read the reviews Look how they have their website taking forever trying to even get in touch with the customer service they run you around and around and link to link the link Now they would have to do is say here just email they do say that but they don't give you a link to email Then you go to their other site their other page same thing to go all the way back to Google type back in how to contact them keep clicking pages after pages of their own pages they put up there yes the guys manipulative marketer when he opened this company had all intentions to take advantage of both sides the drivers the behold What's that From day one he already knew that's how he's making his money bye screwing the drivers over not caring about his customers and if anything happens he's gonna blame it back on the driver He just wants a free ride in life You don't want to get his hands dirty And then that would be a smart *** to everybody that tries to contact you Thank goodness though it's raining cans and get right Because when those days is over when there's no more cans to get right I don't even want to think what it's going to be raining I give you a clue with that one too It starts with The letter S also. I'm glad I can relay this information to everyone I sincerely hope you take time to read this long thing i'm not a review writer I'm all just get right to the point The people like this company they know they doing people wrong they went in it with them intentions to do people wrong so they have safeguards 2 Stay out the public eye all these big pictures of how good they are and don't even have one little tall center with one little secretary A big mirage huh. With strategic an intentionally planned misleading marketing that's full of Well you know by now starts with the letter S.

Resolved: Service fee is astronomical
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
I requested a refund as soon as I realized I was paying 50% in service fees and not a deposit for the service. This is out of ny budget and I need a refund. There is no phone number and I was denied even though the charge is pending and can easily be reversed.
User's recommendation: Do not use this service

Verified Reviewer |Refund requested. Lawsuit filed.
They have not replied back to me. All they did was remove some comments that were posted.
I asked them to provide me the user's real name and I.P address to sue them for using my photo as well as posting very ugly things I never said.
When they respond to me and help with my issue I'd be thankful for that. But until then they are not replying.
Not cool. Many emails ignored as well as complaints from Pissed Consumer, BBB, TravelAdvisor, etc. My mom who I don't reside with even reached out and their response was "email us" Like I haven't already been doing that.
The people who transported my dog did not keep her expensive dog food fresh, and she came back severely dehydrated and sick for over two months. I am pursuing the refund to be returned by the transport company as well as additional compensation from CitizenShipper for the spoiled food, and cost of my dogs medical care, physical and emotional suffering of my pet.

They won't care. They don't respond.
Not trying to be a downer but they are THE WORST. I'm pursuing a lawsuit against them actually. That's your best bet. They either reply to emails AT FIRST then stop.
Then continue to ignore the attempts.
It's pathetic. They all need to lose their jobs for negligence.
