Drugs in your hotel room

I'm writing here because I have no other contact that allows me more than 450 characters.

We stayed at your Chula Vista Wisconsin Dells Resort on 10/15/21. Upon arrival I noticed a very strong marijuana odor but brushed it off because It had been a long drive and I was in a rush to get my twin 1 year old's fed and settled.

I was shuffling things around the bedroom when I opened a drawer and a container of pot flew out at me. Luckily I found it, and not the curious toddlers that it was in reach of.

We contacted security and told them to send a manager up to our room. Only a security guard came. He took the drugs and gave us a number to call(it was the front desk number, which we had tried, several times with no answer).

My fiancé went down to the main lobby with the security guard to speak to a manager and get our room switched. The manager, would not come out of the office. The poor front desk clerk had to walk back and forth relaying messages. I am a manager in customer service, if one of my customers found drugs anywhere in my location, I would be out there addressing the VERY serious situation.

The front desk clerk finally got us a different room.

So now, we got to move two very cranky, overly tired children to a new room, which I was happy to do, just to be out of the one that reeked.

The next morning we attempted to contact Garett, several times, with no answer. My fiancé again, went down to the front desk to find this person and discuss the events of the night before. (Again, why we are having to chase down YOUR managers is baffling to me, but it shows that customer care is not a high priority). He tracks him down, Garett claims to have not been updated on any of the issues and was equally confused why the manager the night before did not handle it.

My fiancé informed him that we had videos documenting this but he didn't care to see them. He said he would investigate and get back to us.

Several hours later, he finally does call us and offers us $100 in a gift certificate or a free night stay to use at a later date within the next year. My Fiancé told him he would discuss it with me and get back to him, at which time Garett's reply was that "they've already given us a bigger room(the size we booked was no longer available), and it was just pot". Now, after feeling like our concerns were not addressed, this was my last straw.

I understand that marijuana isn't crack.

But 1. It's illegal. 2. I had VERY mobile, VERY curious twins around me, so had one of them found the drugs and ingested it, this wouldn't be an email it would be a summons to appear in court.

3. Why was the manager(any of them working on this very large property) not seeking us out to apologize and help us salvage our stay. This property isn't cheap, so a certain level of attention is expected. And then to make us feel like we are overreacting, unacceptable.

And 4.

With all the "updated Covid sanitizing" how was this missed? Clearly the room wasn't cleaned to that standard because someone would have caught this before I did, in the first 3 minutes I entered the room.

I love staying at Wyndham properties, but this experience has definitely made me not want to return to any of them.
