EXTENDED WARRANTIES SUCK....

Extended Chrysler Service Contracts

Customer Complaint Department

PO Box 2700

Troy, MI 48007

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing to you seeking post-warranty reimbursement considering my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT (beige/tan) which was evaluated at various dealerships for the same repeated concerns. While my vehicle was under you Extended Warranty Contract, it was taken to the same dealership multiple times (Larry Roesch Volkswagen since Larry Roesch Chevrolet closed due to General Motors bankruptcy). To no avail this shop wasn't able to repair the vehicle or supposedly duplicate the concern.

I have done extensive research about my vehicle and information at http://www.allworldauto.com/comments?2004_chevrolet_trailblazer_comments_and_complaints_8-9468-****-*.html,www.pissedcustomer.com and www.trailvoy.com which shows reference to identical concerns that I've been experiencing. Trailboy, is a designated Chevy Trailblazer forum for owners, which search though in-depth responses and postings from owners/customers experiencing identical concern confirmed that I'm not making up or dreaming these issues occurred. Yes I did give up with the dealership since the same conversation transpired when I brought the vehicle in for service. We would state the concerns of the vehicle, gave the keys to the service advisor and that person would respond. "You know that we're not going to be able to find any issues with you vehicle." I even went to a few other dealerships for a second opinion and once the next dealership heard me vehicle has already been looked at but another dealership, they would automatically refuse to check into the matter. Jerry Gleason Chevrolet in Forest Park, IL was the exact dealership that refused to look at the vehicle, low and behold this dealership was on that closed due to General Motors bankruptcy.

I paid for having an extended warranty and now repairs to the vehicle that should've been covered by the warranty. Since I'm on a fixed income and pay child support to my ex-wife, I have no budget for vehicle repairs or extras. Luckily my son has been able to assist me with paying for needed repairs and the "extras" that I can't afford. Since this vehicle has been in and out of dealerships and repair facilities, Michael would tell me that the service advisor or technician said about the vehicle that I would argue with Michael. The last 2-3 years of our relationship has been arguing about this 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer that so mysteriously can't be fixed or repaired. Michael has exhausted all of this mechanic friends with me vehicle concerns. Another time me Trailblazer was in the shop because acceleration seemed to lack power, the throttle body and filter needed to be serviced/replaced. The Belt Tensioner was one of the clinking noises under the hood and Belt was frayed.

In the recent year, my wife and I were driving on the road and the vehicle seemed to stall while driving through an intersection during rush-hour traffic. This was the most horrific experience in my life; I literally felt helpless and this vehicle was going to be the death of me. In addition, my current job requires driving in a carpool rotation and I refused to drive my Trailblazer long distances since I didn't want to become stranded. My son allowed me to utilize his vehicle for the weeks that I drive. Unfortunately this isn't a short commute to my office in Oak Forest, IL from Franklin Park, IL and has packed on the miles to the vehicle. His vehicle was purchased at the end of last year and currently has over 18k miles on it.

Within the last month, my Trailblazer broken down and was taken to Creative Automotive in Mount Prospect, IL and the mechanic there (Paul) was able to duplicate all of my concerns that were reported to the previous dealerships. Paul stated the Water Pump Bearing was worn out to the fact were it was causing an entire hose of issues with my Trailblazer. Paul also replaced the 2nd Air Pump and relay since these were related to my original concerns (headlights flickering, vehicle dying out and jet engine noise). This cost me $650.00 to have my vehicle repaired. I've received my vehicle back a few days ago and haven't heard or experienced and issues. The mechanic after hearing my story said the problems I was experiencing were the result of the defect parts he found. He said these problems; especially the Water Pump could've been diagnosed by an experienced mechanic. The only explanation he has was is they didn't know what they were looking for or since it wasn't broken the Warranty Company wasn't going to pay to replace it (which by the way was told to me by one service mechanic).
