AI Highlights
  • - The owner quoted $1,500 for removal, then demanded $2,000; I agreed.
  • - The tree remains in my yard; no return or contact after payment.

Choppers Tree Service agreed to remove a dead pine tree from my front yard for $1,500.00. When they arrived and saw that the tree was in a difficult place, Eddie Tucker (the owner and operator) asked if I was willing to pay $2,000.00 to have the tree removed.

I agreed to that. They cut the tree down, I paid them $2,000.00 (I have a picture of the check with Eddie Tucker's endorsement), and they found an excuse ("hydraulic leak") to leave. The tree is still lying in my yard. This was on June 15, 2026, which was over 3 weeks ago.

They have not been back, have not called, and have not sent me an email. I have sent them emails, but have not heard from them.

I am 81 years old and live by myself.

Apparently they think they can take advantage of an old man. All I want is for them to finish the job and haul the tree away.

Loss:
$1200
Cons:
  • Will cheat old men out of their services

Preferred solution: I would like for them to finish the job I hired them to do.

User's recommendation: Avoid this company at all times. Get someone else.
