CHI failed to bill my insurance for my son's tonsillectomy like all the other services that day. Two years later CHI turns MY son into collections for their failure to do their job.

My son had his tonsils removed in Grand Island Nebraska in March of 2021. The surgeon, surgery center, and CHI anesthesiology all did their job correctly and billed our BC/BS insurance through my wife's insurance.

Then they sent bills to our billing address where I have paid all bills. CHI pathology FAILED at their job and for what ever reason NEVER submitted to BC/BS or billed us the $68 dollars for service.

Instead CHI turned NOT the parents who signed for responsibility of the bill but MY SON into collections!!! This needs to be corrected, his credit needs to be corrected, and I feel we desire an apology for all the hardship this has caused and the time to correct if possible a mistake by CHI that should have NEVER left their billing office.

Got kicked out of 3 Dr's offices cause they said I was disruptive cussing everyone out all the time and the last time a nurse jumped down my throat for being late not my fault when the state paying and one nurse was going to put something in my chart that I didn't want to cooperate and when I took her I was going to tell her boss and when I caught her in a LIE ABOUT what she asked me to do she shut up real quick walked out and still got nothing. When I have to start stealing stuff I need that I already paid for IE:TAXES SS MEDICARE AND STILL BEING REFUSED MEDICAL treatment wait till I tell the judge y I had to start stealing my last UN DR WALKED ME OUTSIDE LIKE I WAS GONNA GO KRAZY UP IN THERE. IF THAT WAS MY CHILD, AND THE ONLY THING THEY LEARNED IN COLLEGE WAS THE WORD NO!?! I WOULD HAVE TO DISSOWN THEM TILL THEY REPAID ALL THAT $$$ BACK TREATMENT I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL THE JUDGE.COULDNT EVEN SAID IT TO MY FACE.CERITIFIED LETTERS.

They are not patient focused and care more about "rules" than "care"

Finally received a response from CHI, but the medical staff that was the basis of the response refused to prescribe a 20 day dose of mental health medication so that the family member had the medication they needed until they could see a UNMC physician! Yup, they decided forcing the person to stop taking medication "cold turkey" was the right thing to do, when everything I have read on WebMD and other sites specifically say you should NOT go off this particular medication "cold turkey" and any reduction of the medication should be done under a Dr.

supervision.

CHI withheld the medication and now our family member is suffering. They showed no compassion or understanding of what their actions or lack thereof has done to the mental health of one of their patients.I can NOT recommend CHI Behavioral Health.

Original review Jun 22, 2022
I have been trying to assist a family member with their healthcare needs, and the need to secure routine medication to assist them with their transition to a different Healthcare system (UNMC). Not only has CHI refused, they have not responded to 2 letters I have written and no response to my voice mail as well.

I can NOT recommend CHI Behavioral Health to anyone!!! Find another provider who is responsive.

I have found UNMC to be extremely responsive to our phone calls as well as a sense of passion for support of their patients. I can NOT say the same for CHI.

Over billing ! wrong billing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

App. With CHI clinic for dermatologist.

Removed a wart.

Received bill for 1,300 for ER !

Took 2 months to correct. BUT Magically the bill amount remained the same ! LOL

clinic billed me for the procedure , actually described what the DR preformed. I said to clinic YOU didn't make an incision ?

Or stitch it up the DR did !

YOU provided a ROOM and supplies.

You should charge just for supplies and a ROOM !

Still fighting it.

PLUS the insurance calls them a preferred provider, yet does NOT make them take a dime off. BUT the Dr who performed the procedure was made to remove HALF his cost.

Billing issues and Resolution

I went in for a colonoscopy back in March. I had called Alegent to get an out of pocket figure for this procedure after I had scheduled the procedure so they would have all my insurance information.

They came back with an $1800 to $2500 expense for a procedure that was to be completely covered. I told them to cancel my appointment and asked why a cover procedure would cost me so much. The response was we didn't know it was a covered preventative procedure. I told them they had all the information I had (insurance and procedure).

They wanted me to wait before canceling and to give them an hour. I received a call back stating my cost would be $0. My question was how can I be assured that when I start receiving bills we could get them fixed. I was given a call confirmation number to reference when things go a rye.

It's been 7 months now and I am still having problems with the lab work bill. The insurance company says the claim is coded wrong. The lab billing company says the doctor has to change the code, there is nothing they can do. I was to call this doctor which I have never met and didn't choose, that I didn't know existed until I lab billing company gave me his name and number during a billing inquiry phone call.

And, it is not resolved while the lab billing company sends the bill to collections. All of this is designed to have a customer pay more than they should, especially since they try to keep you in the dark about pricing until after the fact.

I would say it boarders on criminal.
