Miss diagnosed!!
Have been returning to CH for more than 6 months because of pain. Even switched Dentists hoping for a better result.
My bite was adjusted, then I had to return with my night guard to have it adjusted. Then a couple of fillings were replaced. Still no relief. Sugested I see an endendontist for a root canel.
The endendontist took a look and said that the tooth was cracked completely through and it had to be removed.
Back to CH for extraction. Now no one will talk to me about the billing.
Resolved: 20 minutes past appointment time
Apology and free service
Arrive at 12:50 for 1:00 appointment and still waiting at 1:30. No cobsideration for any ones time.
Bad experience
I have finally decided this has to be the worst dentistry ever. Many years ago i went to the Forbes location.
It did not matter whether you had an appointment or not, I was always made to wait unbelievable long periods. I finally went to another dentist for over 6 years. Unfortunately, he stopped practicing and I went back to the only one I knew. My recent visit was a total red flag...I had tmj symptoms and I was told I would have to pay for everything to check for it out of pocket.
I called my insurance and they said that did not sound right. Check with you insurance.
By the way, the dentist I wanted to see was not there and they let me waste my time anyway. My purpose of writing this is to warn trusting people to check with insurance and also report practice to insurance.
Worked on wrong tooth!
Cannot believe it! Drilled in to the wrong tooth.
Caught it too late. Did not even apologize! Already had problems with the place, but this is over the top. Staff turnover at all levels!
Unprofessional behavior. Lies about what is going on, and then staff covers for one another. Dentist is no better and really a part of the problem. Hidden charges.
Techs do all the work. Dentists are often no shows and they get techs to do it. I should have ran from this place. A highway office with a dental name - inside it is a free for all - and the staff acts like they are out clubbing.
Cannot take the place serious.
I would not be surprised at any horror that happens at this place - and the dentists let it happen. They are at the top and they are at fault for their staff work - because they do everything to not do their job.
Extremly poor business office practice.
The billing of this practice is incompetent and arrogant. They refuse to acknowledge a mistake and will simply bill you even if it their mistake.
They are impossible to deal . They are INCOMPETENT. I have insurance and was pre approved for a c town. I paid my portion.
When they submitted the claim they did not include an X-ray. So the claim was rejected. No X-RAY. They are incapable of knowing how to bill the most insurance.
They did not know to send in an X-ray to support a claim. I had to find that out. Then they billed me when I had to back for an X-ray. If they screw the claim they just bill the patient.
They are incompetent. Incompetent incompetent incompetent incompetent
- Dental staff
- Incompetent front desk

Chestnut Hills Dental Deep Cleaning Review
This whole practice is a joke. The secretaries are rude and seem to be clueless regarding insurance billing and coding. The Dentist will most likely try to up sell you to something you don't want or need, all in all the place is nothing more than a wannabe Aspen Debtal, with cheap parlor tricks and corporate *** to boot!
Sincerely,
A Pissed Consumer
Chestnut Hills Dental - Treatment Plan Review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
I will never go there I have heard about how they
Are all about the numbers and get the patients in and sell the treatment plans get them to schedule regardless if they couldn't afford it they also push fluoride here's a shocker they treat the employees like *** no raises for years. while upper management profits they fail to realize it's the employees that make them there money they have people that have given years and in return they got nothing the employee turnaround is massive in the past few months they lost eight employees in one office that's kind a high don't you think and you think who is the owners would question but it appears they turn a blind eye and sweep it under the carpet
Chestnut Hills Dental - Staff Review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
I would never recommend l ChestnutHills dental to anyone I have known patients and employees personally and I'm shocked to hear what has transpired in the practices I personally dealt with their upper management team and they are so unprofessional it's unbelievable being a business person that I am and having my own business I find it shocking that upper management can treat people the way they do and get away with it The owners of Chestnut Hills dental are completely snowballed what is actually transpiring from their management team their operations manager is so unprofessional and has no class
Refusing to send me my records and numerous other info for anyone considering changing their dentist to the Chestnut Hills Dental office in North Huntindon, PA.
About a year ago, I broke a tooth, I missed the appointment that I had scheduled for my 6 month check-up. I then rescheduled for my 6 month check up. At the appointment, I told them that the tooth was broken and it needed fixed/filled. My teeth were cleaned and the dentist, Dr. Amy Gonzales, examined my teeth. My tooth was not filled.
I scheduled another appointment to get the tooth filled. I went for my appointment and waited for about 15 minutes. The receptionist and billing area is open to the waiting room and you can hear everything even though they have music playing. Dr. Amy Gonzales must have been having a meeting with approximately 3-4 women that work the desks. She told them that their number were down to about 80 and they should be up to 93 or 94 percent. She told them that they shouldn't make it look like the dentists are so readily available to the patients when they call to schedule an appointment, even though their is usually a dentist available. They were going to charge patients that no show for their appointments and maybe they will loose some patients but that was OK.And the discussion continued on and on for about 15 minutes.
Finally, Dr. Gonzales called me up to the desk. She said that I was 15 minutes late that I was going to have to reschedule. I told her that I wasn't late. She proceeded to say that I was - even though I told her that was the time that was left on my answering machine. I got mad and left and did not reschedule.
This week on Monday, my husband received a call at home to remind me of my 6 month check up appointment on Wednesday. I called the office back and told them that my appointment was scheduled for Wednesday and I wanted to make sure that they would fill a tooth that they had not been filled yet. I was told that my appointment was for Tuesday not Wednesday and they didn't have anything available with the dentist, then she said no wait a minute I have an appointment. So, I was able to come in at 2:20 instead of 3:30 and have my tooth filled in addition to my 6 month check-up. So I went in on Tuesday and was told no my appointment was on Wednesday. I told them forget it just give me my records. Someone left the front counter and, one of the dentists, Dr. Amy Gonzales, was sitting in a side office. I saw her slide her chair out to see who I was and quickly slide back into the side office. The receptionist came back out and said that I couldn't get my records today, they would mail them the next day. I was infuriated even further and told them that because the tooth had been neglected for so long that I was going to end up having to have a root canal. I walked out and then walked back in and told them to give me release forms for my husband and my son to get their records.
Today is Saturday, I still do not have my records and when I called they told me that I had to sign a release form. Now, why didn't they hand that to me to fill out while I was standing there???????????????????? They never said that I had to fill one out.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE. They obviously do not have any care, concern or respect for their patients.
