I've wasted time and gas to use my gift cards for weeks now. I've been treated like crap by your staff.

Never received promised gift card for my on-line balance!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Trying to communicate my loss of my account balance when they stopped keeping balance on-line! Feels like they stole my money which was hundreds of dollars (I got from people as retirement.

I deposited the gift cards so I would worry about misplacing cards! Now I have nothing!)

I can't find any way to e-mail - seems only by phone which obviously provides no trabking!

Y'all ain't diverse or inclusive

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Well my first problem caused my second problem which is this: Lacking a customer service email is an accessibility issue. Email accounts are free and public wiFi is free at libraries, cafes, etc.

Not every Chapters customer can afford to call if they have an issue that needs resolving. For some customers phone calls are a source of anxiety and may induce panic attacks, and for hard of hearing customers only having a call option completely eliminates any ability for them to get in touch with customer service. That is not at all accessible and we all already know this company is not diverse lol. Do some diverse hires and create an email customer service or a live chat and voila!

both issues are fixed ur welcome xx

Problem 2 is that I received a $25 gift card over the holidays that will not work !!!!

and I swear!!! if Chapters gets $25 free dollars from me I'ma lose my mind.

Do better, be better.

Chapters head office

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Chapters head office contacted me and explained their policy for mask usage which I do not contest. They have the right to ask customers to comply or leave.

As I have severe Asthma I cannot comply. I was willing to leave. The issue I have was the disrespect and aggression I was shown by the employee? manager?

at the door of my local store. I will never frequent that store.

Nor will any of my family. The $125.00 worth of gift certificates I was going to purchase from Chapters was bought at Mastermind Toys, which by the way had no issue with my Plastic face shield.

Complaint regarding service and masking

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I visited your Coles Eglinton Square store this morning.

I was not wearing a mask. I was then confronted by your manager Jennifer Branston, insisting that I put one on.

It's store policy I refused! According to Toronto 311 Covid -19 rules, I have to be respected, and not intimidated by service staff. Your manager also requested security staff to confront me.

I will report this incident to Toronto 311.

Note: I have been shopping at this store quite frequently since the advent of this Covid outbreak, I also shop at the Indigo branch at the Eaton Centre.

There are people who have medical reasons for not masking!

It is none of your personnel's business to ask!

At the time, this morning when I visited your store, there were less than 5 people there.

I request a letter of apology from you. Otherwise I will take legal action.

Snobby service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

chapters is not a place you should visit unless you are buying a gift for someone. Everyone I know has had a bad experience while in a Chapters outlet.

Some of the problems me and my friends have had there are harassment, suspicion, and just bad service in general. If you are thinking of buying a book for yourself, use the internet. There is a greater variety of choices online, plus it it quicker and more private. People always seem to think that a brand name means safety and security, but now a'days the precedent has changed.

Larger companies are only concerned about protecting themselves and their own security, rather than the security of their customers.

These bad experiences are the reason why websites like pissedoffconsumer exist in the first place.
