Dealership overpricing

Recently I purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot from Chapman Dodge in Las Vegas with an MSRP of $ 22,880 when I reviewed the paperwork which they did not show me until I signed on the bottom like A *** fool because I trusted them. Well it turned out I was charged $27,514.24 before the $ 2500 Chrysler rebate. I confronted them and they told me that the difference was their profit margin! I have been buying cars for my entire life and I always understood that the factory MSRP was what I should pay for the vehicle less rebates, which included the dealers profit! I confronted them and they would not budge, so never again will I buy A Chrysler Corp. auto.
