My response to my Attorney General filed complaint - I am in possession of numerous emails trying to contact them about my items. My adjuster, Tonya Hewitt ( 501-227-****/ hewitt.tonya@***.com ) had repeatedly called and emailed them as well. With their lack of response, I started inquiring had they already cashed the checks, without my signature or consent (I sent an email to them March 5, 2023 to their accounting department (Nancy) in response to their request for me to endorse the checks that I DO NOT give my consent or approval to do so. They did anyway and did not even inform me. They have cashed over $83,000 worth of money for a job I have not even seen, inspected or approved. I was told by Poppie, Danielle and Lisa that they would email me the process if I receive items and they are not to my satisfactory (stained, damaged, missing, etc) on how to resolve or credit back these items... Chris is stating now "we will work with you" what does that mean ??? They have NOT been working with me all this time. I contacted another CRDN office in another state they told me that there is a standard process and she is not sure why this particular office is not sharing it with me. Over a month ago... I called their corporate phone number left a message... no response. I went to their corporate website and left a message... no response. CRDN billed my insurance company for basement items they were instructed not to take. They are not part of any contract or Scope of Work. I asked them to remove these items from their billing and refund the money to my insurance company. I also checked some other review websites and found this is a common practice that they take items they are not supposed to and over bill. Please see attached document with reviews. CRDN says my husband and son gave them direction to take basement items. I dont have a son. I have one 35year old daughter who lives in Aalborg, Denmark with her husband and twin grandsons for the past 12 years. I dont have a son. My husband has NEVER engaged with them or the insurance company regarding this fire. My husband is 64 years old and not in good health. In addition, their contract is with me to only take any instruction from that I clearly and the CRDN rep that came out NOT to take the basement items. It is NOT on the scope of work or any contract of items to take therefore contractually they must refund the money they received for those items. CRDN repeatedly over months told me they were trying to locate my pool table. My husband called around town, since there are only a few pool table dealers, and found the pool table and picked a felt. Once the pool table company replaced the felt they called me and told me they were mailing a bill to CRDN because they had not heard from them. Once CRDN got the bill is when they became aware where it was. CRDN stated the pool table was cleaned and stored. You cannot clean smoke damaged felt/cloth on a pool table it must be replaced. CRDN has not billed my insurance company an additional $13,121.62. The insurance company sent me the check to pay them with both my name and CRDN name on it to avoid them from continuing just cash checks and take money to endorse to them when they return my items. They have already cashed over $83,000 worth of checks. Initial delivery is scheduled for 9/13/2023. I do expect them to keep this delivery date per their contract paragraph (b). below stating an email from my adjuster of payment to be made by a certain date. CRDN offered me delivery of 1 room at a time by Danielle and Lisa so I could inspect and check my items and not be overwhelmed by an over 2,000 sqft items being delivered all at one time. It took about 3 weeks for them to pack them up I dont expect to receive them all at 1 time ??? A burglary occurred at my home, it was not forced entry, the police that responded to investigate said they obviously entered with the key out of the lockbox. There were no other contractors with access to the house but CRDN staff. There were ALOT of items taken. Personal checks, in which one was cashed through an account at ARVEST. Another attempt was made to cash an additional check but the bank caught it and managed to get a copy of the persons license and make a copy for the Detective Evans of the Little Rock Police Department. A warrant is active for this person. I am concerned about the business practices of this company in servicing the public and how they bill and interact with insurance companies. We live in a time where the largest population of Americans are the elderly that do not always have the resources, wherewithal or energy to deal with this type of mistreatment. We as citizens have encountered more natural disasters, nationwide/worldwide, and citizens are thrown in an instant position to try and navigate the restoration of their homes and lives while trying to maintain work, our health, contractors, and everyday responsibilities. Then having to fight with companies like this who come and take your personal precious items and property and bill whatever they want without even showing you a bill and getting full payment before you even finish a job and cash checks on your behalf when instructed not too. It is my prayer that the Attorney Generals office will investigate this matter and in turn CRDN will reimburse my insurance company for the basement items they took that were not impacted by the fire...they were in the basement under the house ! And change/improve their business practices that seem to take advantage of the misfortune of families that have endured and survived a tragedy.
