Still no word regarding whether the check cleared. I won't consider the problem resolved until then.
Why should I? This is a company whose response to the BBB was that I was "a customer who could not be pleased so therefore he will have to wait for a refund."What kind of company is that? I hope that Century Hearing Aids isn't in a hurry for me to consider this matter resolved. Century Hearing Aids is a company that has ZERO regard for me as a customer.
Chuck Weasel (the company CEO) will just have to wait until I consider the matter resolved. That may take awhile.Stay tuned.
Last week, I received (by text) an in-house copy of a specious refund to Century Hearing Aids that was supposedly issued by HearSource (their repair subcontractor in Indiana). The refund to Century was supposedly issued months ago.
Yesterday, I got a refund check From Century. The envelope bore my complete name. The check, however bore only my last name and one of the written numbers indicating the dollar amount could be an 8 or a 9. Let's see what the bank does when I try to deposit it to my account.
If the bank bounces it, I'll be charged another $15.00 and the check will go back to Century and I'll have to start all over again.Stay tuned. It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.
Going on FIVE MONTHS BUT NO RESPONSE AND NO REFUND FROM THESE JOKERS. According to Widex, Century Hearing Aids cannot take in repairs for Widex.
They subcontract the work out to an outfit in Indiana called HearSource (formerly Hearing Services). First, that outfit put a speaker wire on my hearing aid that was too long. That was replaced with one that was the wrong hand. In order to induce me to cancel my dispute, I was told that my own original speaker wire had been thrown out and Century couldn't guarantee that my hearing aid would work if someone else replaced the speaker wire.
I fell for the extortion. I gave Century (and Hearing Services another shot), What I got was a speaker wire that was too short. Finally, I got the original speaker wire THAT MICHELLE at Century said was thrown out. This company's customer service is criminal.
Its product can't be much better. AVOID!
As of 6/25/21 Century Hearing Aids has failed to refund my money and to respond to all communication. I have reported the company to the NJ Secretary of State Consumer Protection.I have called Aaron Weasel, CEO and left messages for him. I have communicated my dissatisfaction online with customer service reps, but I have received no response.I am planning to visit family in New Jersey accompanied by NJ State Police sometime in the future.
NOT RESOLVED
She said that the speaker wire had been thrown out. Furthermore, she said, she couldn't guarantee that my hearing aid would work if someone else tried to attach another speaker wire.
That's called extortion and I fell for it. I reversed the dispute and believed that Century hearing Aids could fix my aid. Two further attempts failed (wrong handed speaker, speaker wire too short and probably not OEM parts).
I did get my hearing aid back and the original speaker wire.
That's proof positive that MICHELLE IS A LIAR.
I called their subcontractor repair outfit (then called Hearing Services--- now called HEARSOURCE--- I wonder why they changed their name). I was told that my money for the repair was refunded to Century Hearing Aids.
I called Michelle at CENTURY HEARING AIDS and was told that her company couldn't refund my money because I closed the original dispute.
I opened a new dispute with the credit card company and was told by the cc company that since I closed the original dispute, the CC company couldn't credit my account.
It has been almost three months since this rigamarole started.
Now I am out $333.50 plus about $60.00 in shipping.

Refund refused
should read : 15 days not 154 days
Returned to Century for replacement. After no response called and was told it was sent to the factory. I complained but was told the factory had to check it. Was told to be patient.
After 154 days was told the factory needed more time. I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. remember my return was at the factory at this time. About 10 days later was told the hearing aid had been sent to me despite the cancellation.
Nothing was received from Century and I notified them. Asked pay pal to intervene. Was told I would get my refund when I returned the unit I did not order. Iwas cheated out of $399.00 dollars.
I aked them to check the factorys addess they had for me but got no response !!!! This does not seem to be the same owners.
I would warn you to be careful. Leonard Zaleski Chicago Il.

Century Hearing Aids
This has been a 20 day ordeal. I ordered a hearing aid from their website not realizing that in clicking a link I had left the type of hearing aid I wanted.
When I received it, I immediately contacted Century. No one answered their phones during business hours. The next day I spoke to Michelle in customer service and she said no problem, I'll send you a return label and once we have it we'll give you a partial refund and ship the new one. But we're going to be closed next week.
I told her that would not be acceptable as I need the hearing aid as soon as possible. Oh no that won't be a problem, she said, there will be someone here to take care of it. That I would have it by Monday or Tuesday of the following week AT THE LATEST. Wednesday I started trying to contact Century calling only to get voice-mail.
When Michelle finally returned my calls I told her I didn't want the hearing aid and to refund my money. She said the package had shipped and she would send me the USPS tracking number at once. At once is not 10 1/2 hours later, at 10:30 P.M.! The package had not shipped, the USPS had been notified to expect a package 3 days earlier.
I emailed Michelle and told her NOT to send the hearing aid and to refund my money.
They mailed it anyway. It came Monday and I've been trying to get another return label since.
Preferred solution: Full refund

A representative for HearSource, Century's repair subcontractor, says that HearSource refunded its repair fee to Century but when I asked for a copy of the refund memo, Sheryl told me that she would send me no documents. This is bizarre.
It appears that HearSource is part of the problem. Michelle at Century says that she cannot effect a credit because of the cc dispute.
My cc company says that there is nothing to prevent Century from crediting my card through its own credit card processing company because my dispute terminated on May 25 of 2021. I think I'm being lied to.
