Century Communities @ Windsor Estates has redefined disrespect, unprofessionalism, deception & dishonesty. We are in the midst of a NIGHTMARE after contracting with Century @ Windsor. I can't describe the harm they have caused during a time in which we should be so excited about the home we THOUGHT we chose & the home that was PROMISED to us. The failure to abide by the ethical standards they are held to is unbelievable. I would NOT recommend Century to anyone!

Did you use their Lender, Inspire?

Yes, we did use their lender. A news reporter contacted my wife today & they are trying to get more people together to do a story.

The reported suggested also contacting athe attorney general in your state. They noticed how many complaints are not addressed anymore, probably because of such high turnover.

Same here in Loganville. We were contacted by one of the producers of the CBS affiliate here in Atlanta. Seeing all of the other complaints about Century Communities I really think that the State of Georgia needs to be made aware of the aweful things that they are doing to people

We are going through the same thing in Georgia with multiple delays and zero accountability. This is our third home we are building and this is the worst experience we've had.

I would not recommend this builder. We had a way better experience with DR Horton.

We should've built another home with them again. Hopefully they can rectify both of our problems.

Our experience with this company is a total nightmare. They are so nice before you buy then the Shadyside comes out they drive right pass you dont even wave!!! We had to close 1hour after our 2nd walk through. The grass looks like we live in a 100,000 home. So many defects in our home its a shame. We walked a model home and it doesn't look the same lumps in the walls different color grout sheet rock not sanded properly there is a ton of defects and now i have to deal with warranty. Please do not get fooled by these guys the model homes look good but yours will look like crap stay away!!!!

A nightmare. Absolutely horrible.

My husband and I gave $2,000 in May 2017 earnest money to Century Communities Brightfield Farms in Loganville, Ga for a Reynolds Plan and in September pulled out because they were building the home how they wanted to build it instead of what we requested. They put the wrong brick on the house.

Our front door and shutters around the windows were supposed to be black and they put up Brown. We upgraded the pendant lights over the kitchen island and they put up the standard ones. To top that off they never gave us a dry wall walk-through and during Hurricane Irma we discovered a leaky roof. Their on site sales agents are no help at all.

Of course like the thieves they are they refused to return our earnest money. I see this company folding and going under in the near future. They are a total rip off. They purposely do what they want until the buyer is frustrated enough to pull out and they keep your money.

Stay as far away from this builder as you can. Thank God we woke up before it was too late because we would have definitely had a LEMON of a house.

Buyer beware of Century Communities they are definitely not what they want you to think they are. A very sloppy builder.

I purchased a home from this builder. After a few months, I noticed a seam of the sheet vinyl in the kitchen come lose. As it turned out, that wasn't just a seem. It was a patch of vinyl. Obviously the sheet vinyl was damaged during installation or during other construction work and just patched up. Nobody mentioned that the floor was repaired. When I brought this up at the warranty inspection, the warranty guy just blamed it on my dogs. On top of that, my lawn is slowly dying. The reason for that is, that there is almost no top soil and the entire lot is pretty much a dump. I mean that literally. I replaced the tree they planted because it was dying too. In the process, I found nothing but rocks, brick, soda bottles, milk cartons and other construction trash. My neighbor had the same experience in his yard. I am handing this off to my lawyer and will make sure all prospective home owners in the subdivision this builder is working on close to my house are made aware of their practices. Worst experience I ever had.

WORST BUILDERS--DISHONESTED AND RIP OFF!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

WORST BUILDERS EVER! From the first day the start of the building of my NEW home, i seen red flags to not purchase this from this builder....in ELLENWOOD, GA!

I found construction crew drinking beer on the job and bad construction throughout the house. I made complaints and of course they spoke to the crew to resolve the issue. I asked for a one car garage and they constructed it for a two car garage which is now seem to be giving me issues, my garage is getting wet. I had a general contractor come out last week to be told, the roofing, the front porch post and construction of the garage was POORLY done...

really. Imagine if he came into the house to review. The day before I closed on my house, the foreman (BRAD) made promises to fixed things identified wrong (Day before Thanksgiving), but once i closed he did not honor not half of the issues, I have continuous problems and have proof through emails of the poor construction of a new home costing $192K. My front post on the porch is still sitting incorrectly, the stairs were stained incorrectly, they put different color gout in my bathroom (i paid additional for ceramic tile).

My floors in the bathroom gout was a horrible mess, that they poorly redone. I am in the process of spending my own money because the warranty company refuses to assist to make the house right before I sell it. I have all emails and pictures of the what was not done properly, that is being reviewed by an attorney. My suggestion is to BEWARE of, Legacy Communities switched to Century Communities in Dec 2014, now they have merger with another company, new name UCP home builders.

They are switching names ever couple of years? Because customers are complaining and they are reaping people off on new home constructions. This is making it harder for customers to locate them. If you buy a house from this builder DO NOT accept any promises, and do not close on your home until is 100% complete.

FINALLY, they are putting together bad constructions. Also, before closing have your home inspected by a general contractor who is not affiliated with their company and require them to repair everything identified before closing. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILDER TO MY WORST ENEMY. MY FINAL STEP IS CONTACT THE NEWS STATION AND PRESENT MY EMAILED DOCUMENTS AND PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE AND POOR CONSTRUCTION OF MY HOME.

ALL I ASKED THEM TO DO WAS MAKE IT RIGHT! WORST

Areas for growth for century communities:

1.mindset of putting customers first

2. Clear communication and a point person to be the communicator

3. Be honest- customers can see through the lies.

Original review Jul 06, 2017
Century Comminities pushed me from the very start to lend with a preferred lender so I could close by June 30. After going through numerous hoops, I was able to finally get the rate I was quoted from my preferred lender.

However, the day of closing I received a phone call 1 hour prior that the building didn't pass inspection. I was assured that everything was okay and that someone would be in touch that dad (June 30) with an update. As of today, July 6, I have not received any update and I have called the VP two times, left a message for the construction manger and sales rep. No one will return my phone call - and no one seems to care.

This has been, hands down, one of the worst buying experiences ever. They seem to be concerned about money and closing deals.

Humans mean nothing to Century ... in fact, the customers just get in the way.

Horrendous customer service

This company should be ashamed of themselves. Not one of the top construction employees should want their names attached to Century Communities. The lack of professionalism and outright lies will be reported to BBB. They continue to ignore the problems that were discovered on the final walk through. They continue to play games, and avoid fixing the major issues. When you buy a half a million dollar home, your hardwood floors should NOT look like they are 50 years old! No one will return phone calls or emails in a prompt appropriate way. They are very rude! Would NEVER EVER purchase a home from them again!!! In my opinion even KB homes are better!!!

Correction: Cracks in garage were repaired with epoxy covering by builder; however, there are several "rough, foot-prints, and impressions from wood laying on wet cement" Cracks were not 1/2", just large hairline. To be totally honest, I don't know how old the boy was...

Original review Apr 25, 2017
This is the most dishonest, sloppy, unorganized, incompetent, bunch of liars I have ever worked with. They throw these pieces of crap up over-night and have no pride in their workmanship.

The subs (mexicans) come and go. We had three different builders and probably about ten different crews. I caught subs drinking vodka and beer while they were framing my house. I took out beer bottles, trash of every nature from inside the framing; enough to fill a roll-off box....NO JOKE!

Their electrical work is HORRIBLE. Example: I asked for two flood lights in back of the house. They mounted the lights upside down and had three feet of romex cable HANGING OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE. What's really bad is, this SNAFU PASSED COUNTY CODE!!

The warranty department is a DAMN JOKE!!! Good luck with even getting a call back from Mrs. Crystal Lee in Atlanta. I have tried to reach her FIVE FREAKING TIMES!!

Call 678-533-****, type in CRY for Crystal's voicemail. She has a greeting that says "MERRY CHRISTMAS"!!! IT'S ALMOST MAY 2017!!! Very professional wouldn't you say?

I took several pictures of this whole damn nightmare.....the beer cans, vodka bottles, framing COVERED WITH CHUNKS OF MUD, Sheetrock laying in mud, light fixtures total SNAFUed, terrible concrete work (poured slab @ 18 degrees, ended up with 1/2" cracks throughout garage), electrical panel installed by 16 year old mexican....trips breakers continuously. Had to call the fire department because the panel had smoke coming out from it. Roof line has a major "sinking spot" because of poor framing etc, etc, etc. I could write a book on this bunch!!

If you saw the pictures I have, your mouth would hit the floor. Like I said, RUN LIKE ***!! Incidentally, this is the seventh house I've built....I'm not a rookie at this game! I will be forwarding several pictures, and history of lies told by everyone from the top to the bottom.

All of this is going to CENTURY CORPORATE ASAP!!! Maybe someone at the top will give a damn!!

My husband and I have been in our home for a month and are very disappointed in the product the Century delivered to us. This is our first home and were very excited about going through the process of having our home built from the ground up. We hired an outside inspector to inspect the house prior to our walk through and we are so glad we did. Unfortunately, the inspector was even shocked by the condition of the home with us being a week out from closing. There were so many issues and the house was incomplete. The interior paint job is HORRIBLE. We found several holes in the wall and places where they fixed imperfections and did not come back to paint them. I have contacted the agents several times (within the first 30 days) regarding the cracks in our walls, crown molding and base boards and have yet to hear from anyone. The contractors/building managers are not very friendly and do not care about the quality of the work being done in the homes. If we could do it all over again, we would have walked away from this home and never closed on it. If you are considering purchasing a home from Century, please think twice about. If you are in the process of building a home with them please hire an inspector.

I agree with you 100% I would like to let buyers know please do not sign and initial that form that's given to you the day before you close read the top of it and it states non-warranty after the close. Please do not trust what the builder is telling you because remember they trying to close.

While I don't want to go thru the house hunt process again, I'm now uncertain and getting cold feet. We are scheduled to close on the 28th.

Poor communications; the ball was dropped again and a couple of promises made that have been ignored.

When I happened to stop by the property 2 days ago, I was told the walk thru would be next day. They were not close to ready to walk but I was assured that they could do miracles. (HGTV they are not.) I told him that we would not be able to make it and I did not see the site mgr again.

I went to the sales office to explain to a new employee and she made a couple of text inquires (no data base communications?). I received an email that just said "walk thru rescheduled." No comment or explanation, no apology.

Now my inspector is scheduled to show up an hour before the walk through w/ Century... hope that we don't have too much trouble but I'll forego the closing and risk losing my deposit, I guess.

GAH! Then put my stuff in storage? and find another place to live. Hoo boy.

What a hassle.

The housing market is tough w/ the shortage of condos, town homes and houses, but if you can wait it out a bit, look for another builder. There is also a shortage of laborers so I have to wonder if the quality of work is suffering as a direct result.

Check reviews online before signing with anyone.

At least we have the opportunity to review online these days; we should exploit that opportunity.

Suggestions anyone?

Century does not care. You call, they act like they are listening and then blow your concerns/problems off. If somebody treated their family members as poorly as Century employees treat customers, there would be a war.

Sounds like a bunch of cosmetic items that could easily be fixed

Horrible I agree to each n every one here. Century is good at deceiving they don't give wat they show. I have a horrific experience with them. I m not being able to shift to my new home even Afrer a month of closing as they are not finishing the work. My new home looks like patch work done all over broken cabinets and broken wooden frames. Executive trims have cracks the worst new home I have ever seen. These are just few pics I have hundred more to show how elegantly they work on new homes

Bad customer service/ Communication Break Down

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
For starters the agent left out a ton of grey areas. Also the initial price we received jump up $3000.00 and know one could tell us where it came from. They blamed it on us doing upgrades at the design center, but that wasn't true because we actually took a ton of things off and they actually owed us a few dollars towards upgrades. Work is rushed things left out that were on the plans to do. They seem like they like doing things twice instead of getting it right the first time. Weekly calls and updates never went as planned. They also don't care about the home buyer because when we went to cancel our contract there was no attempt to solve our problems we had. The agent also put on the cancellation letter that we couldn't afford the mortgage and that was false. The mortgage wasn't the issue it was the price increase and never did anyone break down how they came up with those numbers.

Unprofessional Sales consultant

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I visited the Century Community in Snellville, GA the sales consultant Natasha Hatcher was rude, short with her words, had an attitude, and did not take the time to show me the model home. She opened the door to the model, walked back through the door, left the door open and left me standing there.

I'm looking around like okay so she's not going to tell me anything about the home. I thought, so I guessed, she is having a bad day. When I exited my car and wad on my way up to the office she was walking accross the lawn saw me walking up and did not greet me until she was almost inside the office.

NATASHA HATCHER was very unpleasant, rude, VERY unprofessional and should not be in this line of business. It is all about customer service and she missed that mark by far.

This is classic for the Century subdivisions I have visited. There is no accountability from management placed on these sales agents & they don't care if you buy or walk off.

The agents are supposed to be the face of the company & if you are treated like *** then it most likely reflects the company's attitude & the quality of the product!

I walked away because of a confrontational agent & when I decided to return 6 mos later the same attitudes persisted. Our agent said he was appalled by the poor customer service as well.

Guest

Maybe she was having a bad day. If you based a major purchase based on one person there is something wrong.

Have you thought about going back to see on another day?

Especially if you like the community and the floor plans. You act like she cursed you out too sensitive on your part.

Maybe this is a pattern!i had the same experience in 2 subdivisions & 6 agents, so spare me. I spoke to management & I understood why they were indifferent.

I then learned to respect the other builders agents who contacted me repeatedly because they proved they wanted to sell homes & would stay a few extra minutes. There are too many consistent complaints for this to be a "bad day." Nasty, rude & disrespectful to customers.
