I was scammed by Alvin Chan, the business owner of Central Cabinets d/b/a Central Cabinets LLC located at 2128 Central Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10710. Alvin Chan admittedly entered into a contract with me that he knew he could not fulfill.
He knowingly stole `$5400.00 cash from me under the guise that he would provide me with the kitchen cabinets and pantry I picked out in his showroom. 3 weeks after he'd been paid in full, and only when I told him to proceed with placing the order did he admit that what he contracted me for was never available. He then attempted to keep my $150 cabinet measure fee even though he stated it was the fault of his employee, Sonny, which it wasn't. He then stated that there was some confusion on his end with his materials followed by every excuse and blame placed on everyone except his mother and the Pope.
After refusing, Alvin Chan began to bully, threaten and menace me. It wasn't until he realized I had recorded our encounters that he relented. After confirming to the Better Business Bureau that he would in fact return my funds, he's attempting to require a signed "refund" form his company provides, which is in fact a general release that will ensure that I do not make his scam public nor will I take further action, something I am not required to do in order to have my stolen funds returned.
I am disabled and Alvin Chan has taken great advantage of this. In reviewing our encounter on 2/17/25 when he received the payment, it's clear that Alvin Chan had every intention to defraud me and have me sign off on the contract in full, even though he knew he could not fulfill it.
- Sonny the designer is super nice and meticulous
