I've booked a car at Olbia airport from the 19th of July till the 23rd using the OPODO website. I had my voucher and had paid for the car.
The day I collected the car, there was a blackout in Olbia, and we had to use the phone to find the car rental stand.
When we arrived there, I was told that they didn't have electricity and that they were doing everything manually. So, I showed my voucher, filled up the credit card details for the deposit and 60 euros for fuel, took the pictures, and went. When I returned the car, I was told that they would check the fuel and refund me the difference.
The day after, I saw a transaction of 330 euros on my credit card. I sent an email, and the reply was that I would receive the refund for the fuel in a few days for 34 euros.
I've tried to explain that I had already paid with the broker, but they didn't reply.
I started calling Opodo and Centauro since then but without a reply. I am still waiting for my money back plus all the credit card interest.

I arrived at Chania Airport at 22:30 on 1 September 2025 with a confirmed booking (D01123****) through DiscoverCars. Centauro told me my reserved Fiat 500 was not available and tried to pressure me into paying an extra 210 for a Fiat Panda.
When I refused, they suddenly claimed there were no cars available at all despite 15 cars clearly parked on their lot (I have video evidence).
At nearly 11 p.m., my family was left stranded, and DiscoverCars advised me to take a taxi to my Airbnb. Only the following day was I able to secure a car through another provider.
This was unprofessional, stressful, and completely unacceptable.
Centauro failed to honor my booking, attempted to overcharge me, and left me without a car late at night. I will never use this company again and strongly advise others to avoid them.

We booked a compact car through DiscoverCars and when we arrived at Centauro we were told that category did not exist and that we had to choose 1 of 2 cars available or wait until 1:30 pm (our pick up was 10am). They would not offer us a free upgrade and said we had no choice because Discovercars allowed us to book a category that does exist so we had to pay an extra 105 euro.
Then we contacted Discovercars they said that Centauro said we requested the upgrade which was a lie.
We got a small compact car, smaller than what we reserved originally. The car was not available so Centauro should have given us a free upgrade.
Ended up costing us double what it should have cost us from our reservation.

They refuse to pay back an caution 1.400 euro because of so said damage ... We can prove they are wrong, but they don't react !!

Upon returning of car , staff member was clearly on a mission to find something wrong to charge a fee from deposit . Found a VERY minor non visible scratch on passenger side mirror .
Then said it would be 190 ( no negotiations) will NEVER do or recommend car rental with centauro .
They are a complete rip off !! This was in chania crete

Lors du retour du véhicule la nuit à Héraklion, ils m'ont trouvé une mini rayure quasi invisible et l'ont considérée comme dégât majeur. J'ai été débitée de 350, et le check-in a duré exactement 5 minutes, avec un agent détestable et expéditif !
Depuis, je ne cesse d'écrire pour qu'ils envoient un rapport du soi-disant dommage avec photo et frais de réparation.
Aucune réponse !! FUYEZ cette agence minable et peu scrupuleuse !

As I will be traveling with my family, I kindly ask for written confirmation of the following points to ensure a smooth experience with no surprises:
1. That no deposit will be charged at pickup.

That I will not be held responsible for any damage (including to windows, mirrors, wheels, or tires).
3. That no additional fees will be requested upon pickup or return (aside from fuel if not returned full).

We rented the car for five days, barely drove it from the car rental to the hotel, and drove a cumulative amount of one hour for the whole five days. The manager at the store was insistent that we get insurance and kept repeating that she would charge us even though on the website the car rental is advertised as 50.
The insurance is actually 300, which is how they try to get you. We even paid for the extra insurance online, but they said that that doesn't cover small scratches, only major accidents with police involved, which is also misleading. As we were returning the car, she noted a 0.5 cm scratch under the number plate and told us that we owed her 300. We showed her a video that we took of the car before we left, which clearly shows the scratch, and she kept saying it's not good enough as she wanted a more zoomed-in photo.
We then asked her colleague to come see, and it was very clear that her colleague was on our side, as the moment she saw the photo, she stayed quiet and tried to defend us. However, she stated that she cannot do anything about it as the lady we are arguing with was the manager and there was no one else to talk to.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
Very disappointed, delivered the car back with half a fuel tank as it was given, with half. Took my £50 without any reason, also took £100 extra for highway toll charges which is max £40 and has not refunded my deposit.

I rented a car and got a super upgrade, yay!
Although the car had many scratches and bits but one scratch wasn't on the report and I missed it, but I made a quick video of the car just to be safe.
At the drop off the person tried to put on me one scratch, after a little discussion and the video proof she gave it up but managed to find another one and didn't accept the video as proof.
So I had to pay.
I felt that the upgrade was a kind of a trick, better car with too many scratches, lets try to fix them and get some extra money from this lady

This whole situation could have been avoided had you not inserted a 3rd party middleman into your reservation. You should have booked direct to begin with to avoid this issue.
But you didn't you decided to be DiscoverCars customer instead of Centauro's customer, so don't expect any refund. The two companies have no direct affiliation.
"They would not offer us a free upgrade", why should they. If you want to rent a car you pay..
it's that simple. Next time walk.
