My debit card was misused by my personal assistant $800 was withdrawn from my account without authorization. I reported it to the fraud department and to the police station as they requested.
After an investigation they agreed to return the money to me when I added the fact that I had uploaded text messages between myself and my assistant to the police station proving she took the money, said she would try to get me the money back as soon as possible, which I knew was not true. She did not have a job. Her only income source was through me. CEFCU then tells me they would have to look into it further before they could return the money.
I got a call from the manager of the fraud department she Interrogated me for close to an hour on the phone about the incident then proceeds to tell me that she will return the money, but she is revoking mine and my husbands debit cards.
We will never be able to have another debit card through CEFCU again my husband and I both had been banking with this establishment over 30 years. Very sad.

It wasn’t CEFCU’s responsibility to refund you. You are VERY lucky they did.
The only other option was the bank to tell you they are not refunding you because it is theft since it was your assistant, who you provided the access for. They did not do that.
What is sad is after all those years, you say “do not recommend” over an issue you are 100% at fault. Do better
