Balcony Deck repair issues
Requested bid to repair leaking floor drain on front of house balcony and replace several roof shingles. Approximately 3 months after requesting a bid I receive a contract proposal for the balcony repairs which I approved the very next day.
About one week later repair work on the balcony started. On the second day of work one of the workers showed me a small section of rusted deck to wall flashing. Later that evening I receive an email from company office staff stating that a Construction Manager requested them to send me a change order that was an increase of more than 120% of the original price. No one ever contacted me to talk about the change order.
I called the construction manager to get more information and asked him to come out and show me where all of the rusted flashing was. He told me he didn't have to come out to show me and they would not do the job unless all the flashing was replaced. Not once did any supervisors come to the job site. As soon as the workers told someone at CBCI that the job was finished I received a due payment notice.
I contacted CBCI and told them that the job was not finished and gave them a list of the items needing repair. We were happy with the workers and most of the work they performed. We are very unhappy with the supervision of the work as well as we question the need to actually have to perform all the work CBCI did on our balcony.
We are very unhappy with the lack of communications from job management. We do not recommend using this contractor as long as they continue to operate as they had with us.
