Upholding the wrong role models

Things are better on the the knocking, but there are still too many examples of reverse discrimination. Right now, the most disconcerting thing is that the senior director JH also considers the sexworkers here as top of the career ladder.

She pays them special attention, considers them as extra-meritorious. She told another resident that she does hold biases, but so what. Here is the what about it. First, there is the civil rights laws which blcks fought so hard for, that should equally apply to ALL persons here.

Second, her role as director means she is supposed to set a good example, not upholding degenerate values. Third, anyone knows this industry is rife with slavery-mentality, exploitation, drug use, and gangsterism. Does it not defeat the purpose of this facility which is supposed to help returning citizens? Fourth, we have straight poor older women here who have never broken the law since this is permanent supportive housing.

Their safety and security is threatened if they are being told, effectively, that they are second-class. Fifth, of course it conveys the same mixed-messages that the CC also advances, which is that the bottom line is always who donates the most. Maybe the house earns double in government funding from returnees, but that is because they are supposed to be on the track to rehabilitation, not the opposite. Sixth, if this place is normalized as a safe-house without rehabilitation then it sends the message that this is a nice base for sexworkers.

What is the vision for this home? They are so busy with paperwork every day, taking training, and yet it is only for the sake of appearances. When we point out that based on "Faces and Reflections" from Maryle Ashley this house was once run more like Miriam's Kitchen, including offering sensitivity training for working with poor people, we are met with no response. Seventh, no response or ambivalence is designed to be divisive.

Furthermore it allows a deconstructive agenda to move forward. For instance, last week, the director took a whole box of these Maryle Ashley's "Faces and Reflections" booklets to be thrown out in the alley. These were a limited edition one-time self-published set of booklets, but they were printed with a good cardstock, and deserving of preservation--Ashley did work for the Library of Congress, after all. When I told her these booklets would be nice for a reading group, we could read and discuss the essays, she asked if I had found a new teaching job yet.

Obviously no ideas on using these booklets, recommendations for sharing with the public or the Georgetown internship program. If I had not pulled out about 10 of these books, Maryle Ashley would be turning in her grave. Eighth, lack of progress means essentially providing a setting of sliding backwards. A sitting bureaucrat does nothing for the future advancement of America.

If they are divisive they are doing the devil's work.

Inefficiency, lack of leadership, insincerity, deviousness, indifference will turn this area into a biomimicry of San Francisco or Los Angeles. In fact, in San Francisco alone, per recent California Insider interview with past mayor Frank Jordan, has spent billions of dollars over the last several years addressing homelessness...

Restraining order needed against

Since the deaths of two residents they instituted a Knock on Door Daily policy at MT Carmel House. In concept it seems caring.

In practice it is a very bad idea. Residents already sign out every time they leave the building & sign in when they return. So any resident "missing" all Stephanie Ford has to do is check the sign out book located 10 feet from her desk! Second she is actually racially profiling me as a nonblack.

I have documented how they harass nonblacks here extensively. She comes to this floor (only 3 floors here) and specifically knocks only on my door. When I ask why only mine, she says "I already know they are here!" She tried the key and was about to come in. I was busy and couldn't answer, and she said, "You're supposed to answer me." Sometimes she tries two times a day knocking on my door.

That is stalking and illegal entry! The staff let her do whatever she wants because this place has been her only job as program coordinator forever. She apparently can see through her closed office door that my black neighbors are always around. But the truth is this person (like the previous SW) loves to snoop in people's rooms.

As a nonblack we are pre-identified as fair game. Well they break into black residents rooms too. However I believe what SF is really after is trying to bully, intimidate, "break" me, because she has no college degree whereas I have several. SF is a very buxom well built type---she hits it off with all of JB's many "boyfriends." So actually there's a "bad" subculture here and that's another reason she wants to "break" me.

I have reported this to Washington Legal Clinic to no avail. They are another somewhat worthless bunch. The point is this place is run like a prison camp and the staff take pride to act like they are prison wardens, except here blacks are rewarded for bad behaviour while good people are harassed and shamed. I should file a restraining order, but it takes time.

Meanwhile I am doing my best to document and share these disgusting BLM worldview attitudes.

A perspective that "I don't talk to you because you are not black!" when we live in one house, I do just as many if not more chores, and have done my best to spread christian love and goodwill. They are really that shallow & close-minded!

Its called narcissistic bullying. They always choose someone who they gain maximum power trip to feed off of like energy vampires because they lack true spirituality (goodness).

I know someone like this here whose eyes are dark and soulless. She likes to choose me because I have an exceptional background that she is envious about. You must be brave, thick-skinned, and psychologically prepared to defend yourself. And pray for them too.

Anyway the knocking has been reduced. It's a gradual improvement you just have to try and stay positive.

They also have a security camera cctv system set up to replay anywhere the exits are. The point is she knows exactly that you go out to water or check the garden at least once a day.

She KNOWS you are well and about but she WANTS TO FORCE YOU TO RESPOND. So the concern about your being "alive still" is a big con game used to manipulate.

Mt Shernell House

They should rename to Mt Shernell in memory of second resident who has passed away in less than a year. Both deaths somewhat a mystery.

Shernell came to this house as a frail elderly AfriAm. She'd had a stroke previously and due to limited mobility they placed her on the first floor which was good. She had easier access to kitchen and bathroom. Even then she was a little feeble in mind and anyone could see she either needed daily attention or should be prioritized for rapid rehousing.

All residents are assigned a chore unless incapacitated. The staff assigned her to take out the trash--- an unpleasant twice a day chore that is not easy! Carrying and dragging out the kitchen trash, the bag would break and the contents spill down the steps. I voluntarily helped her but would end up washing the stairs for her as well.

After repeated requests staff finally realized chore was too much for her. They hardly ever paid much attention to her, even when she lived on the first floor. After COVID struck, the staff in fear of the illness, moved the two residents (Shernell) to SECOND floor. This made it very difficult for Shernell to have to climb stairs to get to kitchen.

Already she was so timid she spent most of the day hiding in her room, cooking or more like microwaving a frozen dinner at 3am. AFTER the forced move to SECOND floor the staff paid even less attention to her. Her room was tiny and cramped. She hid inside even more.

I spoke up for her numerous times such as filling room request form to switch to a bigger room. There is a room nearby that the resident pays rent but is a ghost resident. They would not reassign her. Shernell told me she lost her ID and had documents taken from her that were not returned from her previous residence.

Staff ET repeatedly told me, "I appreciate your concern but Shernell is a tough woman, she can take care of herself." Shernell's ID was not replaced, after all the attitude was that she was tough enough to do everything herself! They told me that again after I told them Shernell had a break in to her room and money $400 was taken. I told them who the suspect might be because I do recall who visited her room and I thought it was odd, but the suspect had very cleverly made it sound like she was invited into the room. Again staff merely said that Shernell "would not have that much money in her room" but they were looking into it.

ET was going to remind me again how tough Shernell was, so then I told her actually she was so unhappy she had begun drinking in her room. That seemed to have awaken alarm bells but still nothing was done. Shernell's dead body was discovered on 02/01/2021. Monday in her room.

Police came but it took several hours for staff to arrive due in part to snow. Shernell came to this home hoping to transition to senior housing in DC. She had been here just over a year. Even though she was frail all the residents liked her.

It was just she was that age she liked to sit and talk with others her age. Even the staff seemed to have little time and patience. But the saddest part is unlike when the previous resident passed, the staff ET made a big show of reaching out, offering grief counseling, now she is utterly silent! It's because the responsibility for the first death fell on the director, and that person resigned.

Now ET knows she is partly responsible so she is acting like no one has died! No notes posted on board, no vocal reach out, no recognition or even trying to suppress any expressions of mourning! This is so awful it is unbelievable. Shernell came to our home for hope but instead she sunk to the lowest depths of despair!

And just so it's clear, she was my neighbor! (I'm only giving this 3 stars because it's my duty to make sure it gets posted)

You make sure to deny the release of information. The program rules were updated but are backdated to 2011 (apparently).

There is a no sign option to the contract although most residents do sign. They may not be given a full copy. They recently posted a program design/overview. As it is (re)written the social worker has an outsized role that is quite disproportionate.

On every single page social worker/case manager is referred to at least once. Here the social worker/case manager are one same person. I believe she rewrote this for her benefit and to play god. The Senior Program Manager (the figurative supervisor of the case manager/social worker) is mentioned only once!

While ET is assured a full page worth under section for case management. And this completely outsized role of case management fits with her personality. She has morphed into an oppressive authoritarian with a ruthless bulldoggish stare. She asserted recently there is not anything here she does not have the authority to be involved in.

In fact descriptors in the section refer to her as GUIDE, CHALLENGER, SOURCE in capital letters. We are to regard her as support, share our doubts and frustrations, while she has the authority to reprimand, direct our attention, monitor our compliance daily, and remind us of our future. This is pretty much comprehensive including her right to share her concerns for us. In no place does this "Big Sister" refer to herself as a friend (although she would only be an Arnold Friendly type.) I am certain she has re/written the program overview to extricate herself from any contentions.

Everyone living here is merely categorized as "formerly homeless." In reality in my opinion the SW/CM might be using her outsized role for not only minimizing any other staff role, to assure her unquestionable authority, but to augment her oppressive agenda. So she is like playing god over us lately after all, doesnt the program design authorize her to fulfill that?

She has lasted through 3 other senior program directors and we our on our fourth in 2 years. If one questions why there is overt favoritism, covert activities, secret verbal agreements, allowances of targeting "nonentities": she_esbe all over and giving out the avil eyes.

It's not a matter of reasoning but a culture of leveraging authority. So the golden rule does not apply.

Over and over you can remind them this or that but they heed very little. You can have religious reminders everywhere but those objects mean nothing and even become polluted. It's what is in the heart and you can ask but is it red or black? And still it makes no difference!

So now ET is focusing all her energy on converting the new director to her warped worldview. One older person here B_ became ill and they used that to scribble all sorts of notes on her disfunctionalism in her file because she knows people. B_ told me they tried to put it in very tiny print so she wouldn't see it, and that ET was resistant to enlarging those notes. She is also rumored to try to collect financial and identification and medical info without client authorization.

E.g. Going into people's SS accounts. The new director is slowly brainwashed.

I can see that since she is a longtime bureaucrat that is pretty easy to happen. The goal is to convert this into a cat house, imho, and they don't want anyone to prevent that and just like with any kartell they have to have enablers...

This event totally undermines anyones faith in the church. They're so corrupt.

Of course she is going to stay on this mean wretched miserable cruel... And yeah it wasnt like two or three days of garbage hauling it was at least 4 or 5 cycles of 2 weeks each. As time goes on this mean wretch is trying to give people who arent complete toadies a bad time.

Her boss probably will give her a pay raise. That boss never stops by here anyway.

ET fits the classic narcissist profile. If its not steam-roller then it assumes covert narciss.

Time and again she uses case meetings with clients to implant her toxic digs. She does this in the form of friendly "brags." So with her new boss she even refers to her boss to her face as just being in training, with the innuendo that SHE is training her boss! With me the dig is what a wonderful relationship she has with her mother who was a school teacher and she learned all about how to be a teacher from her closeness with mother. Or that she is renewing her social worker license next month (what a coincidence the same month as I renew my professional license).

Then she even asks me but is it every two years odd year or even year? B#tch looked up all this about me just to attack me or invent lie! I told her I didnt want to talk about that! But she knew its June odd years and she deliberately equates my license as comparable to hers but to a lesser degree as she sits all day on her duff till late evening in her OFFICE supposedly "taking advanced LCSW" courses.

You go gal! Great in theory, "D" in practice, "F" in sincerity!

That's not very nice. She at least sits all day and appears to work.

Nakya doesn't even do that. On good night she will do her job okay if she's in a good mood or the weeks of the resident survey. The other half time she closes the door and is eating, making personal calls, surfing, and basically ignores resident requests. Her job is so easy that most of the time she just sits around eating and playing with her device.

But she has to hide that by being as unfriendly as she can. She also forgets to lock doors behind her she gets so involved in doing nothing.

U don't understand they aren't paid to be moral or ethical. Its too hard to measure.

Kohlberg level one moral reasoning is totally focused on self-interest which is how a society focused on narcissism and materialism becomes. Level One: "Obey rules to avoid punishment" means "Disobey rules when there is no punishment expected or when no one is looking." Voluntarism doesn't count so what is not paid is ignored. Dirty or broken, they will wait till its charged. You would hate to be on a sinking boat with them if they are going to sit till the right lifeguard arrives.

They will push everyone off the boat that they can. Level One says "naive hedonism, conforms to get rewards and have favors returned" means "When pain is present, make sure the suffering is spread unfairly."

Too bad about director

A lady passed away a month ago and it was kind of Covid related because since March we have been on lockdown. Its hard to address issues as a group with no group meetings.

There are new residents who feel or act orphaned because they need direct support. The LCSW has been very good but their hours were cut. Some are no longer working due to cutbacks at temp agencies. The ladies who have been here a long time are sometimes the meanest, like chasing people out of the kitchen, yelling at them, or twofacedness real sugary with the staff and headgames with peers.

The coordinator here is well intentioned but susceptible to favoritism because of common class bonds.

She is lucky to be what might be considered an exceptional protected learning class. With no library open it can be demoralizing listening to the beastly sounds day & night from upstairs timed and located with crafty predictability.

If SW doesnt want to address issues or sweep them under rug thats kind of superficial. Its like rushing to get the house on zoom video conferencing.

How secure is zoom. I bet just like Fb its insecure. What we say will become their creative content just like how Fb reuses photos.

It would be much easier and safer to hold ftf meetings in small groups. There are other ways to prove you are becoming more technologically proficient such as subscribing to less trashy trade magazines and instead to quality magazines like popular science, national geographic, CS monitor, smithsonian, faith, mary knoll, catholic digest, magnificat, sew news etc.

Most of the shelters and transitional including this place are receiving HUD funds so this is why what's described here can be public information. The trend is using these pet populations to leverage in private public partnerships for redevelopment corporations.

It's an open secret and one such is the community partnership. I mention this one because it masks as data analysis on homeless pops but the number of staff begs the question. One gal there has same unusual last name as our new director. That gal might be the directors niece but her bio proudly states her background in real estate.

Now I recall many realtors love driving fancy cars as they take clients on home tours. Well the new director told us she had an ext background in public service but I think she means public-private service since her car is expensive.

How does that fit in with the vision of a retiree job here? With the car-tell it's hard to say....

The main purpose is to try and displace a resident by all kinds of juvenile games. Like CB is now bff with AA and so AA constantly bangs on her floor paces around all day, till 4am.

She has nothing better to do evidently. Doesnt know how to improve mind or soul. If you complain it goes unnoticed. If you tap on the ceiling she will come roaring down to scream at you.

About as much logic as a ### and says stuff like 'You must be hearing things because my room is not directly above yours." Hmm. I have some architectural background but the building is laid square and if her room isnt above mine why can she hear my tapping? Footstep treads match hers too unfortunately--- short fat and busy.

Theoretically if she complains about my tapping I will have to say she told me her room is not above mine, so she must be imagining sounds too! Certainly I might do better than pick a fight with Belzeebub.

Grateful for *** life

The SW is okay. It has taken 2+ years to get used.

One of the worst left. They let me change to a nicer room. You just learn to keep to yourself. Theres only one illicit worker really but she shares what she gets to keep.

The ladies have some mental but they dont steal or commit bad crimes. The one woman I have a problem with is this night owl who just wanders the halls at night, sits on the steps outside smoking for hours, sits in kitchen texting, and just creeping around. Donald Trump is her God too. Donald Trump soldered in red letters on glasses, sweaters, jackets, etc and very adamant about it too.

So she really has some passive aggressive issues probably dissociativej. She has control issues about me because she keeps cleaning the bathroom after I clean it as the assigned chore. I do a good job but she acts like its not good enough and mutters about stuff. And having a colorful trailor trsh record she just hates on people or else insists on turning them into her sidekicks.

She accusjed one gal of making a pass at her but I am convinced it was more the other way around. Anyway I tried to do a search on her and ver strange her name does not come up at all. I do searches occasionally to discover if they had a record. One gal, white, she was pretty nice but she would also wander and from the record its clear she has some schiz mental outages.

She seemed to disappear from this place too. Well this gal AA her initials has no record and i am certain because the name sounds fake to begin with that she's using an alias. So thats really kind of *** Severe mental issues, physical issues, and using an alias. I have to play nice but I also wont let my guard down.

She even showed me pictures of her when she lived in a canvas style tent near the White House. You want ask why she didnt get an invite from the groper. She's not that bad looking for 60s. But the other *** part is her alias name is jewish.

So she is some kind of jwish cracker, and I just cant figure why she had to get homeless. Is she a mole? Where is her stock portfolio?

Why isnt she living like in Bethesda? And she loves loves loves Xmas!

You are wrong because she is well qualified and a hard worker. Her bark is louder than her bite.

She rarely writes people up and keeps the information separate from write up. In contrast the new director overreaches alot. She seemed meek as a mouse her first few months but then her real personality emerged. Hair style change too.

But when they put the sw on sick leave now the director bakes the cake and force you to eat and if you do not like she attacks from all sides. Bait and switch, how can you call a case meeting, invite confidence, only to turn around and put words in peoples mouths and write them up? Breach of confidence, and ill logical.

Not even a good listener and false accusations and full of jack comfort and piccant stews and that long had I had so much ha-ha quality. Thrice the turn for worse at least!!!

At least she always says hello to you! This gal angelique austin no way never ever says hi to anyone unless they are *ehem.* So being she lives above you its like having a heavy weight short wrestler moving boxes, pacing like a caged wild boar, and playing trance music all day all night. And she lives to play watchdog monitoring everyones coming and goings. Evidently she has no problems judging people based on her crooked far set eyes without ever asking a question or attempting small talk.

Oh she's a seer all right. So profound and such an expert. Thats why she pounding on that floor in such frustration. Woohoo!

It must only sound like a tap compared to her thumping but being mean and smallminded and the staff will probably take sides with her because blm you know. Blm means double standards is perfect to balance all the centuries of unfairness.)

Nope, amitzvah is nice. She just has a world view that is different.

Has the courage to stand up for her rights and thats not easy around here. She doesnt know they seem nicer to her than to me. But she does know when she's being lied to. There is one poor woman who should be transitioned into senior housing and they have done little to help her because she too quiet.

Already a year and she qualifies for voucher, has some income, etc. Imho its because all that matters are the optics.

Around Xmas there are people who are extra mean because they resent having to give to others. It emerges in unexpected ways and at unexpected times.

All the signs of resident evil is here: arrogance, aggression, intolerance, impatience, impulsitivity, gossip, hate, anger, bullying. The staff fan the flames of evil and hate. The idea resident is totally medicated, wears a bathgown all day, watches tv bet, originally from congo. If you are a normal college educated unless you are congolese in origin you will deal with a lot of stress living here. They do everything to try to take you down instill fear and make your stay miserable. ***

Lately I am making a great effort to contextualize the behaviours in terms of psychosocial challenges. For instance schizo affective diagnosis doesnt occur in children but emerges in adulthood.

Maybe its related to years of taking other medications for adhd. Also many homeless or formerly homeless cant or wont take their meds routinely. Schizos have flattened emotions. So if you are seen as a threat to their worldview they will always see you as a threat or aggregate with others who do.

Gosh knows we have enough of that with normal egotistical hater types. But the problem is one frequently identify mild schizophrenia schizophrenia affective from other diagnosis. I feel better understanding this but the SWs here refuse to tell their clients (or anyone else) what another might have. SW is mad at me too because I wont allow her to text me on my phone.

She insinuates all kinds of things in her messages like what is my right number, needing this and that from me, always needling and head trip. I have the right to refuse to text back! She does not have the authority or right to force me to text with her! Especially if these are being used to bait me emotionally!

Ok I know the difference from a twisted text from a brief, courteous, warm, message. I receive them from work and its all right. But the problem is I told the SW about this work arrangement and now SHE wants to use it. The head game being: "I can monitor you day and night.

I am in charge of your life." Just like an overseer. This woman ET really has a talent for using just about every scrap of info you furnish her against you somehow. Like a gaslighter she seems charming and receptive but she really likes to manipulate and push clients buttons. That is to promote resident turnover since there are thousands of homeless people.

I think she might qualify to work at NIH or a federal penitentiary where she can interrogate prisoners and exact punitive measures. The reason she feels compelled to try to "control" me is she (and I overheard her say this to director) said "I will make sure to put a stop to that" with regard to my community activism.

The staff know who the sexworker and quees are but do nothing about it. The sw changes her hairdo all the time.

Now its flat top like a guy. They never have training in interpersonal skills although its badly needed. Kindness, compassion, tolerance, christian semsibility are sorely lacking. What is really sad is its right next door to the catholic church.

The women have the privilege of smoking in the church courtyard garden but they are so ill behaved they fight, argue, and gossip there. The staff plays favorites. For instance, a gal yells at me then claims i started an argument. It was quite unbelievable nevertheless the sw wants to write up a counseling memo.

Since I work in middle schools I know the level of abuse teachers get daily and no teaching staff would bother with such an " incident" but the sw is clearly bored biased and twisted. They dont care how the sexworker screams out her window, the quee fights in the garden or on the street. To them "they are cute and forgiveable." Being smart honest straight nonsmoker religious and not addicted to TV is not! That is what they call an alternate universe and the flat top sw wants to help me cope better.

She's probably a freemason too. Maybe if they sold the building they may get some well deserving poor young CUA students a decent place to live and certainly they would be a lot more courteous caring industrious cooperative etc.

While i have since come to better terms with the staff who always need a bit of organizational supervision, the women in the house are still "impossible." What keeps me going are my outlets in places to go, work, outside support and friendships. However from the very first day the dark women have views this yellow woman with nothing short of habitual unfriendliness open hostility and occ overt harassment esp verbal.

Now i realize its not all dark women but here the dc street subculture is the dominant culture. It stands to thei reason even if we are in china town that i am the odd girl out. I am not too upset except the number of hrs i have to be outside which makes me feel homeless or nervous about perceived as such. But yes a quarter of them done some time, half are bi- meaning they go into one anothers rooms with possible liasions taking place.

The liasions tend to be temporal related to power or favors and they switch off too. Like i say not all dark women are like this but they've been institutionalized. They manifestly cannot take me for real which is sad. And what is sad is if I were light (we have three pale skins) they would be a bit nicer.

No pairing off occurs with the pale skins maybe they are not interested. But they dont get harassed like me either.

I guess this was once southern code where a pale womans voice or authority can still be a presence felt even if not exerted. They help me navigate the middle way too, bless their hearts.

CB who behaves like a *** addicted sex predator lower than a beast with a donkey for a head hooks up with various women to shake them down for cash. They switch roles depending on who they are partnering with. Staff pretends or denies any of this goes on. Its only on the record if you are officially out of the closet.

These hookups feed into pettiness shaming blaming and sense of irresponsibility. For instance everyones new young sweetheart Arthea is allowed to play loud music, scream on her phone, do her chores in the most careless slovenly way, sleep and hangout downstairs and stink up the couch and pillows, and no one not even the staff say anything. Of course this is used as bait because if we complain about her the staff will act like its our problem. Staff simply will not notice how slovenly the bathroom looks, or how this creature is not grateful for anything but may be stealing dishware and vases to try to sell at flea markets.

(Things are disappearing since she moved in) Someones hair is also so filthy that they leave 2mm sized grown crawling louse in the sink and bathroom counter. I have to avoid this bathroom because its like a pigpen. I would complain but the staff are acting like since they are part time they cant be bothered with checking on how people are doing their chores. The spirit of voluntarism is utterly lacking.

If I try to do an extra unassigned chore because its become disgustingly greasy or full of food waste, the ladies just sneer at me with scorn. Thats what comes from using butt all day long watching Family Feud.

Why are there floating keys around here. I find keys on the floor twice that were supposed to be in the office or a residents safekeep.

Last month also found room key that matched my door tucked into a bathroom mirror out in the open. They are supposed to give notice when they enter but half the time they dont. I wonder how many of my dear beloved neighbors been poking around my stuff. Every month the pest control comes in and they spray wherever they like it seems and they never leave a notice about that.

If people want something why not just ask. Thats the way some people are they have to sneak around snoop speculate like junior fbi academy.
