On February 6, 2024, I placed a $175 order for cosmetics with Carrot & Stick. This was my very first dealing/order with this company and will most definitely be the last.
First, I got an email saying my order wouldn't ship for two weeks because of "the holiday." This confused me because there was no holiday and I certainly didn't want to wait two weeks for my order to ship.
I called Carrot & Stick and they said that was a mistake. I told them maybe they should let their IT department know that they're sending emails like this to confirm orders. I made it very clear that if my order wasn't going to ship within two days to cancel my order and refund me immediately, because I didn't want to wait for my order to ship beyond two days from now. They promised me my order would ship within two days.
In addition, there was no mention of anything being out of stock or that there would be any problem with my order.
Then I was alerted by my credit card company that I was double charged by Carrot & Stick!!!
It took several days to receive a response about that error on Carrot & Stick's part. And it took a full week to receive that erroneous error in billing refunded. What if I had been at my max limit on that credit card? That would've entered me into another set of problems due to Carrot & Stick's errors and bad service.
When I was on the phone with James at Carrot & Stick several times to get this double charge error resolved, I wanted to make sure that they had shipped my order.
They said they had, and assured me that I would be receiving the tracking number. But I never received a tracking number. They lied because my order had not shipped.
I reached out again in a few days because now it's been 6 days and I hadn't received a tracking number. I was dealing with James and he said he understood the numerous issues I was having with them so he offered to refund me $26.25 since I have spent so much time with them dealing with issue after issue.
He said he would check into where my order was, and when he got back to me he let me know that my order had one item on backorder. So they were holding up my entire order because just one item was out of stock and wouldn't be back in stock for another two weeks!!!
First of all, when I place an order on a website it should not even let me order something that isn't in stock. And secondly, if something is out of stock they should let me know that. They had numerous opportunities in my various phone calls and emails with customer service and this additional issue wasn't mentioned.
I asked James to ship my order in two parts, which he agreed would be done.
At this point, I told James in no uncertain terms that I had told Carrot & Stick moments after I placed my order a week earlier, that if my order wasn't shipping within two days to cancel it and refund me immediately. Obviously, since it's now one week since I placed my order and it still hasn't shipped, I made it very clear to him that if my order wasn't going to ship within 24 hours (minus the one item that was out of stock), to please cancel my order and refund me in full.
Days past without a tracking number and I would email them every day and say I haven't received a tracking number refund me info. I kept getting the runaround from James telling me he was personally supervising this order and I would get the tracking number anytime. I never got the tracking number from Carrot & Stick.
I kept asking for a full refund. I got a notification that they refunded me for $148.75.
I've told them they have not paid me in full. It is clear that they think that my hours of time spent with them dealing with the problems they created for me, which they refunded me $26.25 for, now should be taken away from me for some reason, and are penalizing me in that amount.
They are basically taking that refund back by not refunding me in full. I told them to refund me in full for the last two days and they have not responded to me.
Carrot & Stick is a disorganized, unethical company, and I will be letting the authorities know how awful they are.
