Payment Processing
A 20plus year customer. In the last 3-4 months I've written and mailed three (3) checks to Carroll Home services NJ office (POB 28335), in the envelops provided.
None were ever cashed or credited to my account. After multiple calls to the Baltimore office (no phone# for NJ offices) over three months, I was effectively told that it was my problem, that I should "...check with...post office...", that the issue could not be resolved by the Baltimore office. This time I will send my payment via certified mail...my final payment.
Well, a twenty-plus year relationship is soon to be severed. Acct: 10-525****.
Technicians don't even know their own equipment
Their service tech Andre came for annual preventative maintenance at 830am two weeks ago after we had agreed to do them a favor and move up our afternoon appointment to 8AM. No explanation for lateness.
He proceeded to do the service though he faked the condensation pump cleaning by telling me to add bleach later to reservoir.
He failed to re-screw in a screw he had to loosen to do the service of the oil pump.
He failed to fully test the system when it was repaired so after he left the system had an oil leak of a few ounces an hour.
I called them at about 930am and they promised to send nearest tech. I asked if I should turn off system. Answer was no.
Tech didn't show up until 230 pm. Was Andre again.
He spent 2.5 hours trying to fix leak. He failed to find the loose screw but thought leak was from one connector of 1 oil line to pump. He didn't know which way to turn to screw it off (clockwise or counter) and struggled 20 minutes using brute strength trying both directions, likely damaging pump.
He then took off BOTH oil line connectors, despite thinking only one was leaking. When he repaired the one he thought was leaking, leak continued and he decided it was now from 2nd oil line. He then replaced that connector. But it was still leaking.
All the while he complained about this make of pump being susceptible to leaks.
I suggested he call his office to consult someone who knew the system, which THEY had installed 4 years ago. He did and refused to let me talk to their office staff or supervisor.
Supervisor showed up at 6pm and found the problem of the unscrewed screw in 10 min, but then discovered the first tech had put one oil line back on at wrong angle so the pump cover could not be reattached.
The ONLY reason I used their company is that they installed this system. Then they send me a tech who doesn't know their own system.
I complained to their online system and got one voice mail. I have called back multiple time over two week but haves never been called back.
Stay away from this and their affiliated companies.

Caroll let me down in the worst way I thought possible. They let my oil run out (on the new tank that came with a sensor I was hoodwinked into buying by their associates.which I spent so much money on) and left me and my wife and three kids (4yrs, 2yrs and 9 months) in a freezing house for 16 hours (overnite).
All the while giving us false hope and insuring us that someone will be there soon thus keeping us (in hope) in house. Thus leaving us (over-nite) to result to freezing in one room with one space heater in a 52 degree house. With every phone call of me being told "you are next", I became more and more angry at the terrible service and care that was shown towards my "emergency". The only ease I received so to not have this outrage that was within me pour into every phone call was talking to Russel which kept it straight with me and told me what the real problem was.
After talking with him I made my own conclusion that there is terrible disorganized leader (if any). Yet unfortunately by that time it was too late to make any moves so I waited till the morning. The next morning someone came and after being told they started at 7, no one arrived until a little after 9:30. The guy got it started and said they need to be here with my oil today.
So as you probly know by now the day came (I went to church) and it went and so did my calls that resulted in more of nothing. All calls with the exception of one being to Russel again. He being SHOCKED that I wasn't taken care of attempted to console me again yet the major damage has already taken place. Once again telling me the truth of no one coming out that nite, I was ok with it because my heat was still on at the time.
Yet though it was on it was at the last bit and that's what I explained and warned them yet again. Well, the morning came but not caroll. I went to my nieces party and came home once again to a cold 60 degree house with a bill on the door ( had a nerve to leave me a bill). So as you can imagine they were late TWICE!
in three days! I call and they say..... (you guessed it) someone's coming....... Yet when asked, they have no supervisor or boss or know any information on anybody higher than them.
I was told "we got a website and that's all I can give you... But you call yourself a company? They don't know any info on who they report to. well after a terrible weekend with them, I wake up early and as you can imagine again.....
(yes) no one came. Sitting in a cold house at 7:30am I call and it sounds like they have no clue someone was suppose to come, so I guess that's why no one came. 5pm today will be three FULL days of my "emergency". what does that word mean...
I don't know andymore ...... On the search for a new company, anybody know where a real company is?
Extortion
DO NOT USE CARROLL HOME SERVICES!!! My husband and I purchased our house a year ago and decided to have Carroll - whom the previous homeowners used - come to our house and fill our oil tank.
A couple months later we received a bill for over $1000 for a monthly service plan that we never authorized, signed up for or used. After several, painful conversations with the most incompetent staff ever, the bill was rightfully wiped clean. This past fall we arrived home to a bill hanging on our door for an oil delivery that we never asked for, signed for or authorized. Again, after weeks of painful phone calls and them informing us they would not remove the oil from our tank, we agreed on a price (because they tried to charge us almost a dollar more than the competition was charging on that date).
Guess what? It took another month just to receive the corrected bill because after having many conversations with them they informed us our account number was incorrect. INCOMPETENCE AT AN ASTOUNDING LEVEL WITH THIS COMPANY. After we paid the bill, we told them our business with Carroll was through.
Last night, we saw a Carroll fuel truck pull up to the front of our house so we watched to see where they were going and wouldn't you know it...THEY TRIED TO DELIVER TO US AGAIN!!!! Luckily, we were able to stop the delivery before it began.
I can't show up to your house unauthorized, perform a service you didn't ask for, and then demand payment so why does Carroll think they can get away with this type of extortion? AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This complaint is a company out of state an oil company. Our company is also Carroll Home Services, LLC, located in Merritt Island, Florida.
