I have been a customer of Carroll Fuel for four years. I am on automatic delivery.
With the recent cold spell last month, I guess they miscalculated my usage and I ran out. They sent a technician who added 20 gallons and primed the system. He was here probably an hour. All was well.
The next day the weather changed and the heat was barely on. A couple days later we had no heat on our first floor but do have heat in the basement and second floor. As it was warmer out, I didn't think about it until it got colder last week. I thought it was the thermostat and went ahead and replaced it, as it was old.
Still no heat. After diagnosing with a multimeter, I pulled the cover off the aquastat and found one of the thermostat wires from the first floor was pulled away from its terminal and the screw was backed out. I hate to point fingers, but it is highly improbable that the wire came loose on its own.
I have no intention of pursuing this any further, but merely wanted to put you on notice that you have lost a customer and at the end of this season I will terminate my relationship with Carroll Fuel. Randy Mackubin, 6 Dunscombe Court Phoenix, MD

Fiev years and now they rip me off
I am on automatic refill. They raised my bill by $1 dollar per gallon over any competitor price.
When I called to see if why and if they can adjust it, they offered 70 cents over competitor price. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said they will be in at 7 am. I asked them how long are they their and they told me they don't know they leave when they want. The first time I talked to them they disconnected me when I asked for a supervisor.
Their customer was very unprofessional. I have been with them for 5 years, always paid my bills on time, and now they want to treat me like crap.
I called a company called Warthen and talked to to a gentleman called Chad ( 410-242-****) . He will get my business on my next fill.

Carroll Fuel Maryland Price Gouging Long Term Customers
We have been a customer for 15 years. Monday our auto-delivery was done by Alliance Fuel Company.
I check website to understand the relationship to find nothing BUT did find Alliance Heating Oil is .809 less per gallon than we were charged by Carroll. I send a fax on Monday to hear nothing. Called Friday to inquire. I learned Alliance is a sister company with different rates.
To appease me we were offered a 40 cents credit.
As I told Carroll STOP the auto-delivery after 15 years and I will now SHOP my oil. Kathy at Carroll could have cared less..."We don't want to loose your business"....then show it!
