They had 3 chances and failed all 3 times.

We were given 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason I believe. They don't listen to needs of customers and that is the problem.

Then when called upon their transgressions, they are arrogant, argumentative, and refuse to make things right. Shop at Peirce, you will get better service, product and someone that listens to what your needs are.

Sold Junk Flooring

I went into Carpet garage in Missoula Mt to buy flooring for my kitchen and Laundry room. I had settled on sheet vinyl for fear of water damage.

I was directed by the salesman to the Laments, It was quite a bit more expensive to buy and install but the salesman assured me it was worth it, he assured me it was almost indestructible. It is beautiful flooring and I love it, but what he didn't tell me is that the indestructible does not mean it is waterproof or even water friendly. Shortly after having it installed by a professional on their suggested list I started noticing blisters appearing on the edges and almost like the top layer was coming off. ( this started before the installation was even complete ) one board had to be replaced even before all of the floor was installed.

After several months there appeared several of these blisters and spots where it appeared the top coat was coming off. After about a year and when some of these were becoming unsightly, I contacted the Carpet Garage in Missoula and lodged a complaint. The manager had me take photos and bring them in, he then said it looked like water damage,( now this is flooring that was sold for a kitchen and Laundry room ). I am a bachelor, there are no children, pets in the house and I do my own housework, and I use a sponge mop so, needless to say it hasn't been over mopped and there is and ice maker fridge in the room ( About three or four feet from the closest boil ).

I had my choice to either hire an inspector from out of town??? or the manager said he could bring the company rep out to see what he thought. Kinda like hiring a fox to determine who killed your chickens. WELL guess what, none of the problem was their fault as it was determined ( by their expert ) that it was water damage, even though that first board that was replaced during the installation was never near any water.

But it wasn't their fault as water damage was not covered in their warrenty ( imagine that ) the rep said " right on the package it states not to get water on the floor, He said If you look on the label it is in very, very small print it says do not use water on it." I could not believe the rep would even say that. I guess you are supposed to have your kitchen and Laundry room floor sent out for dry cleaning. I didn't receive a label on the flooring, I had it installed by one of their approved installers. The installers picked it up and I never seen a label, all I had to go on was the salesmans assurance it was near indestructible.

They did say that they had a floor cleaner that they sold, that if you spray it on a dry mop does a pretty good job of cleaning this kind of flooring. It is expensive but they would give me a free bottle to use. I need to add here that they do not carry this flooring anymore but they said that is not because it is junk only that they changed the items they carried. So I picked up this free bottle of cleaning solution.

The label is completely in German, you cannot read a word on the label. I asked if it is safe to use this same manager said oh yea trust me it is perfectly safe, This is the same guy that said water was the cause of the problems on this indestructible floor that had had very little water on it. All I can say is I will NEVER deal with them or refer someone to them as they do not do not stand behind their products, or their sales pitches, but they will tell you anything to make a sale and then make up any excuse to defend the inferior quality junk they are selling, but if you are lucky they will give you a free bottle of something with a German label to make it all better and make the complaint go away.

I am afraid to use the stuff they gave me with the German label as I am afraid I might start glowing, God only knows what it is. But I guess it just proves that the buyer should beware and go to a quality retailer to get major upgrade items.

Screwed by the Carpet Garage in West Fargo, ND

I purchased $400 worth of tile, glue and sealer from the Carpet Garage in West Fargo. After installing the tile and ending up a couple tiles short to finish the project I returned to the Carpet Garage to purchase the three tiles that I was short. They told me that I would have to purchase another case of tiles at $64.oo rather than selling me three individual tiles.

I have purchased several thousand dollars worth of materials at the Carpet Garage in the past, but if they are more interested in screwing me for a case of tiles rather than letting me buy individual tiles I will start spending my money else where.

You would think that a returning customer is worth more than the profits of a box of tile.

So if you bought a carton of eggs to bake a cake and only used 5 of them, do you feel can return 7 to grocery store?

Or if you only put in 7 gallons of gas in a 12 gallon tank and run out, does the service station owe you for 5 more gallons?

If you quote a job, let's say to build a fence. Would you feel you should charge more if they asked you to put up a 2nd fence?

As Bill Envall says "Here's your sign"

What a knob-head. How would you feel if you were a retailer who, for example, sold playing cards.

How would you feel if a customer came in and wanted to order the ace of spades? Is $64.00 really a big deal, or are you being a bit unreasonable.

I agree with CommonCents, IF this original comment is not a competing store, that guy is an ***! Ive purchase tons of flooring at Carpet Garage and always with good results.

Try to go to Menards or any store for that matter and get just three single tiles.

]NO ONE ALLOWS YOU TO DO THIS! IT WOULD CAUSE INVENTORY NIGHTMARES AND IS SIMPLY NOT THE WAY IT WORKS!

If you are installing tile and have to *** and moan over $64...then you likely cannot afford to be tiling anything in your home again. Posting a bad review because you can't measure correctly is your own problem.

ALSO!!! IT IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE A FEW TILES LEFT OVER FOR REPLACEMENTS SHOULD YOU DAMAGE A TILE. AGAIN, COMMON SENSE WOULD TELL YOU THIS.

GOOD LUCK BEING A NIGHTMARE CUSTOMER FOR SOMEONE ELSE. TRY BUYING ONLINE FROM NOW ON TO AVOID HAVING TO RUIN SOMEONE ELSES BUSINESS BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN IGNORANCE.
