Poor and overpriced service

I engaged Caring Transitions to empty my condo and clean it to get it ready to sell. They waited 2 1/2 weeks before starting work and then spent only one day clearing out and cleaning. They did not do a good job of cleaning and the realtor had to hire a cleaner to finish the cleaning for a cost to me of another $400. I deducted $250 from the final payment.

User's recommendation: Do not hire this company.

If your going to leave information about a company, be specific in nature about who it is - which business location, the people you worked with and exactly why you were unhappy. Did you try to work things out with the franchise owner, or just come and dump on social media, just curious?

Appears to care while ripping you off

If you are looking for someone to clean out your house and do not care what happens to the contents, then this is a great service. But if you are looking for someone sufficiently well organized and open about an accurate value and what happens to your belongings, then I suggest you look elsewhere. We contracted with Terry Kerns Caring Transitions to both move us from Virginia to Florida and to clean out our Virginia house and put its contents into an online estate sale. Because of COVID-19, the estate sale would be only online. His crew would first throw away items not deemed worthy for sale or donation, then donate items thought to not be worthy of an estate sale, and put the other items into the online estate sale. No inventory was made of all the things taken away. We were given a list of all the things donated, though absolutely no furniture was listed as given away. That said, major pieces of furniture, were never put into the estate sale. Other items that were in the estate sale, such as a complete antique living room set of a couch, two side chairs and coffee table, were never accounted for. These are just examples of some of the many things that miraculously disappeared in the process. Although the online sale was conducted in September, we were not able to receive the check for our share of the sale revenue until February, five months later. Following repeated requests, we were never able to obtain a signed copy of the original final contract to demonstrate to the provider that there were charges he made against our share of the proceeds that should only have been applied to an in-house sale that were not to be charged to us since ours was an online sale, as well as his responsibility to return to us our original deposit. After repeated requests, we were able to recover some of these funds. As for our move to Florida with this company, the movers were quite unprofessional. To save time, instead of making the trip in two days, they drove through the night and ended up at our Florida home barely before the time they needed to leave the community. As a result, furniture was hastily and incorrectly assembled thereby creating irreparable damage. Again, it took us almost 6 months to receive reimbursement for the repairs we incurred, and only after multiple emails making the request.

User's recommendation: Good for clean out of your house but beware of estate sale and moving services.
