CareZone Pharmacy is HORRIBLE
App works great for keeping track of meds, but CareZone Pharmacy itself is AWFUL. I recently moved and had an insurance change.
I hadn’t put my new insurance into the app yet when my refill came up. At the time of refill, things were a little crazy for me. You just get a message saying something about 24hrs before they ship. Again, I’m having craziness I’m having to deal with, and I figure it can wait because they don’t have current insurance for me.
Oh, no. CareZone goes out and gets your new insurance card somehow. Maybe this is normal because Internet, but I have never had a pharmacy do this. Not CVS, not Walgreens, etc.
CareZone does the refill on my new insurance and the copay DOUBLES. $100! Because it’s a name brand drug. So, CareZone lets me know the copay is going to double and gives me the option to get a generic or just not refill until I can figure this all out, right?
Wrong. They ship it anyway. Because it’s their “process”. And I promise you all they care about is their process.
Not retaining you as a customer or making you happy. They care about their process, which is set up to ship those meds out come *** or high water to make sure you’re stuck with them. No returns. It’s the law.
Not their fault! Supposedly, they have a threshold for copay increases, but $50 or 100% doesn’t make the threshold for saying an increase is significant. If YOUR copay doubled and increased by $50, would you find that significant??? Their process takes much of the control out of your hands as a customer/patient.
If your insurance changes, buckle up for the ride, because you’re going to be charged and those meds WILL be shipped to you. The 24hr thing is a JOKE. I don’t think they will ship at all because old insurance will reject the claim, and they ship them anyway! And then I get the new copay amount AFTER they ship.
That’s right. Not only do they ship when I don’t expect them to, but they tell me about the price increase AFTER, when the meds are already on the way and I’m stuck paying for them. AGAIN, they make sure you are stuck paying. The worst part is the lack of customer service.
All they were willing to do to make this right is offer a payment plan for the $100 and close my account and transfer my prescription to another pharmacy. They care not a whit about you or keeping you as a customer. BEWARE.
There are far superior pharmacies out there. And if you want to track your meds, try Good Rx instead.
