Unethical practice in service center

AI Highlights
  • Paid $478.53 for a diagnostic that did not fix the A/C.
  • Was told a compressor was needed for over $1,400 and seeks a full refund.
Contains 1 confidential file for company representatives

On July 10, I took my 2010 Honda Crv in to Carey Paul Honda because the air conditioner was not working. It would blow cold air for a few seconds, but quickly blow hot air.

I was told there was an extended warranty.

Upon arrival, the associate told me the extended warranty had expired. He offered a diagnostic for $189. He told me the diagnostic showed I needed a relay and they could install one for $478.53.

I agreed to the service.

When I picked up the car, the a/c was still NOT working and in fact doing exactly what it was doing previously.

I called the associate who told me to bring the car back in. When I did, they said it needed a compressor for over $1400.

I asked for my money back.

The associate then tried to persuade me that the relay was needed anyway.

So what was the point of the diagnostic?

I am requesting a full refund. I paid $478.53 for nothing. I still have the same issue and nothing changed.

I wasted my time, driving back and forth, and my money.

I am not going to let this go without taking action. I will not pay Carey Honda for nothing.

Loss:
$478

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Don’t use Carey Paul for your diagnostic- st least not on your ac. Verify the extended warranty before taking your vehicle in for servicing.

Sold car that was clearly in accident with a Clear carfax

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • 2021 Honda Civic EX bought for 35k with 2,500 miles.
  • Front-end damage: cracked emblem, indentations, bumper sag, fog light not working.

I bought a 2021 Honda Civic Ex for 35,000 (online everyone else is at least 5,000 cheaper) three weeks ago and I didn't know how much front end damage the vehicle had when I purchased. The emblem in front was cracked in several places (I replaced with an aftermarket emblem) and it has several deep indentions on the hood and grill like the previous owner hit something.

The car was sold to me with

a clear Carfax and I was told by the salesman that the car was not involved in any accident. The front bumper slightly sags on one side and also one of the fog lights don't work. I'm very disappointed because of how much I paid for this vehicle that had only 2,500 miles on it when I bought it. I emailed the sales manager I will update if and when I get a response.

The car internet price was 33 but change to 35 during negotiations. The car was way over price for the condition the car was in. The tint has bubbles and the fire wall under the car was damaged. Please really give these cars a thorough review before buying.

I didn't because the car was just a year old and had under 2500 miles. This has been a nightmare.

Update: The car I bought was involved in some type of accident. While I was trying to touch up the deep indentions on the hood, grill, and bumper with touch up paint I noticed that the bumper clear coat was cracked. It looks like shattered tempered glass the size of a baseball in one area of the bumper. The same side of the car where the fog light didn't work which indicates that the fog light bulb was blown from impact.

Also the same side where the bumper slightly sags.

There are other scratches in the clear coat in that area of the bumper I hope to buff out. I could have sworn it is against the law to sale someone a car that has been involved in an accident and not tell them.no

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

Worst car deal

AI Highlights
  • Promised a 4 week loan deduction, not delivered.
  • Finance manager forced loan changes or higher payments.
  • Traded car returned; belongings not retrieved.

This has been the worse, most unprofessional and unethical car buying experience ever. So much so that it is not even a car buying experience since we returned the so called new car.

We bought a new Honda pilot from Carey Paul Honda and were promised that a certain amount would be our installment that would be deducted from our account in 4 weeks.

After days and days of waiting for the payment information all we got was "don't worry we will get it done". When we went to meet their finance "genius" manager a week before the supposed payment he said the only way he could get an approval - which he apparently got 3 weeks ago on the day of sale - and the only way we will keep our car was to agree to either put both me and my husband on the loan or increase our monthly payment by over $60/month and reduce the loan term by 10 months... And obviously since we couldn't do it.. They gave us our traded car back and were humiliating enough to not even let us take the car back and get everything out to hand it over.

From the moment we said we won't agree to your terms all we heard was no we can't, no that's not possible, no no no..

The sales team is exceptionally good but the finance guy will suck the fun and respect out of the whole deal. If you respect yourself as a customer and have dignity and don't want to be ran over like a dumb person DONT GO TO THIS DEALSERHIP!!!

this is very very true. The finance guy there Matt is worst you can possibly get.

The sales people are really good but the finance management there sucks. I will not go there again if I have to deal with him again.

HONDA DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR SALESMANS' WRITTEN QUOTE

AI Highlights
  • Tony Henry quoted a $22,000 out-the-door price for a Honda CR-V.
  • A manager said the price could not be honored and we would have to pay more; we left.

I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN. I EMAILED SALESMAN TONY HENRY SEVERAL TIMES TO AQUIRE THE BEST PRICE ON A NEW HONDA CR-V.

TONY FINALLY QUOTED $22,000.00 "OUT THE DOOR" PRICE (MEANING NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES). I ACCEPTED AND DROVE 1 HOUR TO MAKE THE PURCHASE. AFTER ABOUT 1 HOUR AT THE DEALERSHIP (CAREY PAUL) REVIEWING THE CAR AND WAITING FOR PAPERWORK WE WERE INTRODUCED TO ONE OF THE "MANAGERS" WHO STARTED TO EXPLAIN HOW HE COULDN'T DELIVER THE CAR AT THAT (AGREED-UPON IN WRITING) PRICE AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY MORE.

WE DECLINED TO PAY ANY MORE THAN THE WRITTEN QUOTE - WE ALLOWED THEM A FEW MORE MINS.

TO "SEE WHAT WE CAN DO" BUT THEY STILL WANTED MORE THAN THE QUOTE SO WE LEFT. I COULD NOT TRUST THEM TO DEAL HONESTLY.

Varied Prices for Same Repairs!!!

AI Highlights
  • Used Carey Paul Honda in Snellville since buying my Accord.
  • Maintenance quotes vary each time.
  • Wait times exceed promises; pricing unclear.

I have used Carey Paul Honda in Snellville Georgia for Honda repairs since I bought my Accord. When I call to get a quote on maintenance, I get a different price every time. I have had to take the Accord back because of poor service work and when they say the work will be done in one hours it has taken up to four hours with an appointment.

Several times I have talked with management about the pricing and wait times. I have received no satisfactory answer. Although they are happy to talk my money, they delivery subpar service. Hope these words help people as they decide where to get automobile service.

Mike

It will be a great show. Maybe they should call it 'No Clothes Attached.'After a more or less innocuous, public audience trailer advertising what seemed like a run of the mill romantic comedy, Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman go risque in the new red band trailer for their new film, 'No Strings Attached.'Portman and Kutcher play best friends that begin to sleep with each other... to predictable, yet potentially surprisingly funny results.
