I believe my car salesman broke a consumer law

He gave me the wrong spare key. I lost my main key 105 miles away from home and luckily I had my spare in my trunk. So I thought? Turns out it was the wrong key so I had to spend 400 for the car salesman mistake. He broke a consumer law which requires 2 keys on a brand new car. It's a legal issue now and I wanna resolve this.

Deceitful Employees

coworker of mine highly recommended to come to see her brother "Aaron" who works at Car Pros Honda dealership in El Monte. I really thought the process will be a fast and easy deal. Told the salesperson Guillermo and the brother "Aaron" whom I thought we would be dealing with, I am coming from work with only 2 hrs of sleep, please help me, I want to lease a car. Over the phone and even at the dealership, I was very clear and had been straightforward with Guillermo (salesperson), Aaron (FINANCE) and other people that had talked to us in that dealership, "I DON'T WANT TO BE THE PRIMARY PERSON ON THE CONTRACT BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO PURCHASE A HOME THIS YEAR! DONT WANT TO HAVE TOO MUCH LOAN UNDER MY NAME! I was also very clear that my dad will be the one who will lease the car and maybe purchase the vehicle after the lease contract ends. Aaron and Guillermo Convinced me to come to their dealership about 20 miles away from where I live 1.5hrs with heavy traffic. Both (Guillermo and Aaron) had reassured me that I won't be the primary and that they won't run my credit and it will be 12000 miles per year. Aaron specifically and guaranteed me, my dad, my cousin, and daughter that I (AARON) will just put your name in the contract, just so if the car needs to get fixed, you can take the car yourself to the dealership that was the only reason why I had agreed to put my name in the contract. I was NOT aware and was not warned that once you handed the dealership your drivers license to test drive the car, that theyll run your credit. I just didnt understand why they need me nor my dad to co sign each other, if both have above average to excellent credit scores: my dad and I have stable jobs. It took at least 4hrs of negotiation with AARON, so I finally told Aaron that I will come back another time, perhaps on my day off if he can find my family a basic car thats feasible for us. With lack of sleep, my family and I havent had breakfast nor lunch, I was already delirious and feeling I was about to faint; I even had to put my head down on the table because I couldnt function anymore. After so many attempts to compromise on the final amount with Aaron, even though the amount he was offering was a bit sketchy; in which I found out we could've gotten the same deal with any other honda dealership. However, I trusted Aarons words I am giving you family discounts; I wont put you as primary; I wont run your credit and so on, went ahead with the transaction. 6hrs later, upon signing of the contract, another employee (Peter) had to type and process our contract. Signing was done via IPad (froze a few times) which was half screen or had to zoom it in to be able to sign it. After we signed, my dad handed his credit card for down payment. While we were waiting for their broken printer to get fixed Peter mentioned that the office we were at isnt his office, its Aarons, thats why he doesnt know where everything is at. Also, they are allegedly busy, (there are way more employees than actual customers) they just threw him in there to work with us and he doesnt know whats going on with our deal. When we finally got the hard copy of our contract; upon reading the contract, it was a COMPLETE OPPOSITE based on what we had agreed on versus what was on the contract. In the contract, I was the PRIMARY leasee and my dad was my co leasee: ran my credit (twice) after getting many notifications that someone ran my credit for 2 hard inquiries (dropped my credit score); and with 10,000 miles per year instead of 12,000 miles. Not thinking straight during the time, it just dawn on me after getting a few hours of sleep: what happened to us at felt as if we signed a blind contract. This specific dealership had pulled the same cunning tricks not just to me but to one of my coworker: with whom was also referred and trusted Aaron from finance department sales pitch words and didnt commit to what was agreed on.

User's recommendation: Don’t come to this dealership.
