CapitalHealth Care rip off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The average cost for an x-ray in my area is $57.00. My health care providers site was down but I knew Capital health was in net work and just last year they charged me $42.00 for an x-ray.

I tried to pay when I went in for the x-ray. I was told they do not take payments Imagine my surprise when my first bill was $5808.00 and the second was $3949.00. No wonder they will not collect up front, I would have run out the front door and never returned. I keep calling and writing thinking it has got to be a mistake.

When I tried to set up a payment plan I was told I have 30 days to pay the entire balance (yes my insurance paid a huge chunk but I still have to come up with close to $1500.00). Every other place I have checked (now that my insurers web site is back up) said I would not have even had an out of pocket payment.

Loss:
$1500
Pros:
  • X-ray staff technician was nice service was very quick
Cons:
  • Billing staff was rude and downright mean and threatening
Reason of review:
Pricing issue

Preferred solution: price reduction or reasonable charge. How much would it have been with no insurance. Lat month I paid $50.00 for an x-ray. I know my deductible is $375.00 but now I can not even afford the physical therapy the doctor has ordered. I have no money left
