Then charging them $2900 for spraying for termites on a 60 year old house. Which again said it was half price. The house is 1500 sq. ft.
3 guys could do the work in one day. That's paying each guy $120 per hour.....really?? Tried to talk to Jose and he just talked over the top of us.
They said their name of the company is Riddex but the phone number comes up Calstar Termite. I noticed another reporter on this site said they changed their name.

Poor company do not trust these guys
- - They solicited service after I already had service, gave no inspection report or tag, and now go by Ridex Exterminators with board complaints.
this company called me soliciting service after i already had a service
and failed to do anything according to the state rules and regulations, i never received a inspection report and when i went to look for a inspection tag there was none to be found..after doing a little more research i came to find out that this company has multiple complaints with the structural pest control board http://www.pestboard.ca.gov/howdoi/complaint.shtml
and have come to discover that they recently changed their name to "ridex exterminators" beware of the rip off artists who work here
you'll save yourself a lot of headache and money..god knows if you use these guys you'll also be saving your termites...please help to report misconduct from these guys at the link provided above..

I've read a lot of the reviews on this site, and either I'm very lucky, or there's been a change in the way this company does business.
Just had my house inspected (9/19/14) and work completed today (9/25/14) by CalStar Termite Pros.
Had 4 different quotes for the same type of work and CalStar (714 634-****) did a better and fuller inspection (one inspector said I didn't even have termites) and CalStar pricing was MUCH lower (at least 20%) from 3 of the "best" termite professionals I got a quote from.
Showed up on time, did the work, did all the patching and painting and once they were finished, you couldn't even tell they had been here.
Great job (I'm pleased)... If you need a FREE termite inspection and quality work at a very reasonable price, call CalStar Termite Pros and ask for ALEX and ALEX as your treatment team. Great guys.

Calstar Termite Pros - Unprofessional Service Review
- - Office is unprofessional.
- - Three weeks of calls and six emails to modify the contract per the tech's recommendation; still not done.
dealing with the office is painful and unprofessional 3 weeks of phone calls and now 6 emails trying to modify our contract based on the technicians recommendation and it's still not done yet.
Their response time to their customers is criminal.
The run around is unacceptable,I'll be contacting the better business bureau as well.

Service Appointment Review

This company does not come close to keeping to appointments, they make zero attempt to follow up to let one know that they are running ridiculously late or won't show up at all (I have had two appointments unfulfilled). When I called to follow up, I was met with very uncooperative, surly, couldn't care less attitudes. Sad way to run a business.
Harassing Phone Calls Review
They called us and we are on the Do Not Call List. Therefore these people go on my "do not call list". I hate it when companies disregard the DNC list!
Tried to scam me for 4400 dollars

a man named jim shelton showed up at my home the following day and insisted i set the appointment..
rather than arguing with him i let him proceed .. he checked only the exterior of my home and told me i had
termites, he gave me a quote to kill the termites but i respectfully declined, the next day i recieved a call from
him stating that he did treatment on my home and i owed him 4400 dollars, i couldnt belive what he was saying
upon checking my house he apparently drilled holes and did a treatment without my consent, and now is trying to
collect money from me.. ive had a resturant business for 22 years and i would never think of treating people that
way, trust me this guy jim is a scam artist and deseres to be arrested..fellow home owners what ever you do
dont use this guy hes a fake and a phony, and wont be in business long with the public as his target
and his snake like tricks, something or someone is bound to catch him in the act.. beware

I have spoken with Jim Shelton and his staff with regards to this horrible complaint. He has denied that this terrible incident ever took place.
He would never rip off clients or has never SOLD a job to a Dan Valencia in Torrance. We feel that this might be a competitor's effort of damaging Calstar's business reputation.
We have researched our database for a person named Dan Valencia and simply could not find one. I have interviewed the owner and staff with regards to this un-warranted and false complaint. It has caused us to lose customers, customers confidence as well as good future employees.
It is time to address to false claim .
We are asking help from PissedConsumers to validate this claim or remove it from its website.
I cannot imagine that anyone can just post false and financially damaging information without some form of verification. We are now prepared to resolve this issue and take all available legal remedies to correct this unjust action.

That is similar to what happened to us, but our house is only 18 years old and they wanted to inspect first and charge us if we didnt go with their proposal.
