I submitted a complaint against California Dream remodeling. The complaint was for price gouging over billing and not providing a breakdown.
California Dream remodeling has since done additional work on projects in order to resolve issue with charges. They are going to provide windows installation and have also fixed any remaining issues with projects that were not completed

I submitted a complaint the contractor business name, California Dream remodeling I would like to retract my complaint. All issues with complaint have been resolved.

User's recommendation: Customer should make sure to get full information upfront on type of contract you are committing to sign. Read entire contract read stipulations of contracts before signatures. Please state that you need more time to go over contracts.

I have been a licensed contractor for many years now and never have I not paid my license fees on time. However, this year i didnt receive a renewal form in the mail, email or even a phone call and I should mention that I have been very sick with COVID-19 so I quite honeslty wasnt looking for a renewal and as usual have always figured that It will arrive when it's time.
Anyway, I finally realized a couple before weeks that the time was getting close and I had not received anything so I sent a letter explaining that I hadn't received anything and that I have been sick along with a renewal check of $450.00
It's been a couple of weeks and I have just received a letter now telling me that my license has expired and that it will now cost me an additional $225.00 for a total of $675.00 to renew said license and yes that's a 50% penalty for something that is their fault but what could I do and on top of this all there was an additional charge of over $20 for the CC transaction.
Quite frankly, this is criminal by a state run entity and I couldn't even get in touch with a representative over the phone to eplain my plight.

I wanted information about a state contractor.

I have some work going on at my house. Safe Step is installing a shower that has taken 24 weeks and theyve spent seven days here.
This job was supposed to be done report 10 weeks and it was supposed to take a couple of days.
The job has been done that is unacceptable to me. I wanted to find out what I should do?

I am and have been a licensed contractor for many years now and have never missed renewing my license. However, this year because of COVID-19 I didn't get a renewal form mailed to me or even an email or call (they have all on file)
o a couple of weeks before the renewal I mailed a letter to the CSLB with a renewal payment of $450.00 only to be told in a letter that they now send that my license is now out of date and that It will be a further $225.00 to renew it, yes that's 50% more for a total of $675.00 plus over $20.00 fr the CC payment.
So I now have had to pay almost $700.00 to allow me to work which I haven't done is a while because of being sick with COVID-!9 and there was no way to call and appeal this criminal act by a state run enterprise.

WHAT A ***!! He had nothing i wanted, he refused to hang up and kept calling back when i did. this company has been doing this for years and are progressively getting worse. Most people buy just to get them off the line, i refuse to be intimidated by this and actually would love to meet this *** face to face, we kind of have way of dealing with his type down on the bayou. Starve them out, don't buy from them

I also have a state license and am well aware to renew online early. Don’t use Covid and the mail as an excuse.
