A very unethical business practice

Peter Wishloff, of “Cbus” Hockey in Columbus Ohio (private owner and coach) is very unethical and unfair in his business practices with regard to his fee collection policies and his dealings with coaches. Specifically, he misrepresents his own statement about providing consistent quality hockey instruction and providing competitive hockey opportunities for youth hockey players. During the 2014 season (clearly a difficult season for him as he was suspended from league coaching for breaking USA hockey rules for rostering illegal players) he and his coaching staff cancelled numerous ice times that were paid for as well as scheduled tournaments. Very few games were even played during that hockey season and very little instruction was offered yet he still insisted on full payment for team fees. An honorable person would be fair in their fee assessment based on services rendered -- Perhaps make a statement that under the circumstance it is difficult to provide the promised services and offer reduced fees or supply refunds. Not only was fairness scoffed at, but insistence on full payment in spite of no instruction was his mode of action. Even threatening to file a law suit in small claims for non payment was his response at be questioned in his fee collection practices. Even coaches who worked for him, on more than one occasion, have complained about non payment for their work. It is amazing he is still able to roster teams and solicit help of qualified coaches given his poor management and organization skills -- He borders on being fraudulent. I would caution any parent to think twice before signing up their child to play for his organization.

I stumbled upon this "review" by accident, while this negative review probably has very little affect I do feel inclined to offer my experiences with C-BUS Hockey and Pete Wishloff.

I have had no issues with fees or collection practices during my several experiences with C-BUS Hockey.

As far as coaching and quality of practices are concerned. I'm very pleased with the quantity and quality of the practices.

The coaching is excellent and the ice time is plentiful.

Yes there have been some cancellations and rescheduled events (games and practice) this hasn't been the norm. Typically the changes in schedule are due to the players not being available on a particular day. Communications have been made in a reasonable time frame.

I know nothing about any 2014 suspension so I cannot comment on that.

I know nothing about coaches not being paid.

However, common sense tells me if coaches were not getting paid they probably not stick with the program year after year. I've been a part of several organizations, C-BUS is a quality organization. I've been involved in others and it's the best one so far.

So read the "pissed off" review with a grain of salt.
