Verified Reviewer |Poor workmanship and do not honor their warranty
- - Paid $11K+ for a roof; less than 2 years later ceilings and walls bubbled, signaling a leak.
- - They refused to fix, blaming interior moisture.
I paid over $11K to have a new roof installed. Less than 2 years after the new roof was put on, the inside of my ceiling and wall started bubbling up - a sign that a slow leak occurred (photos attached). I called C&L Ward to have this fixed as they heavily advertise a lifetime warranty on their work. They refused to fix it and said they thought the bubbling was caused by moisture from inside my house. Why wasn't this a problem in the first 9 years I lived in my house? Why did this problem happen only after C&L Ward installed my new roof?
They came out on 4/6/26 and said they would install a new chimney flashing just to try an please me - which it doesn't. They called on 4/9/26 to say the flashing has been ordered but don't know when it will arrive or when they can install it. It 5/4/26 and I haven't heard back.
C&L Ward, which they also created a C&L Ward Brothers name - a common tactic among scam artists - sent off-the-street day laborers to install my roof. They didn't know what they were doing and when the Roofing Installation Manager came out to do a quality check, he noticed that they didn't install any of the baffles, which he told me would have voided the Owens Corning warranty. They also did not install 8 sheets of plywood. Both of these were in my signed contract. C&L Ward fired the Roofing Installation Manager.
C&L stands for Crooks and Liars. Stay away from these ***
They have offices in Metro Detroit, MI and Chicagoland. They are heavily advertising currently.
- Poor workmanship
- Do not honor warranty
- Use unskilled labor
Preferred solution: Fix my damaged ceiling and wall at no charge to me.
User's recommendation: Stay away from C&L Ward
