Verified Reviewer |Massive Oil Consumption
Bout a 2012 Verano 6mos ago and it blew up 2mos later. Did research and found that the 2010-**** models have a defect and massively consume oil.
I was putting 3qts in it every other day. Now instead of recalling these, they still sell them. I reached out to them about a recall and all they said was that the recall is for airbags. So basically they'll fix an airbag that was a factory defect, but not an engine so we as the customer's are just out of luck.
I had a mechanic at a GM dealership tell me they are junk motors.
I have reached out to the BBB, as well as local media to try and get this issue fixed. Won't ever buy a Buick again!
- Beautiful car
- Company refusing to correct problem
- Junk engines

Hi, my name is Lewis Wilson and I purchased a 2012 Buick Verano about 5mos ago.
I am reaching out because 2mos after owning it the motor blew up. Before that I was having to put 3qts of oil in it every other day even though it was not leaking, or mixing with the antifreeze. I did some research and found out that the 2010-**** models with the 2.4l Ecotech engines are notorious for massive oil consumption. I feel you all should recall these vehicles because us as customers should not have to pay for an ongoing issue that obviously you knew about because you kept producing the cars, but never addressed the issue.
A mechanic at the Buick dealership told me the same thing about the car burning oil. Now I am out of a car because a used motor is roughly around $3,000, and a rebuild is around$4,000 or more. I find that in very poor business especially when you recalled them over an airbag issue, but not an engine. I do not feel responsible for having to replace the motor when Buick was aware of the problem and ignored it, not to mention installed the same motor on the Equinox, Traverse, and a couple other GM models.
That is truly uncalled for to take advantage of your customers this way. I will be reaching out to lawyers, as well as the Better Business Beareau and the local media about this because I am sure I am not the only person who is upset about the very same thing. If you need to reach me you can at 417-901-****.
Please fix this problem because while I love the car, what sense does it make to replace a motor that is going to do the same thing in another year? Thank you for your time.

Purchased a Buick Envista from Steve's Hometown in Fruitland, Idaho. Had chip in fenderwell and scratches on hood.
There was also a charge for "theft" that wasn't explained to me. The salesman said it would pay for deductible if car is stolen however, General Manager said it is a device used if the car is stolen. Either way, It wasn't explained to me and I requested it be refunded. The GM said "you signed for it" so unwilling to refund.
FYI, the finance guy even forgot to take my down payment and the dealership called the next day asking for the downpaymant. I was told they would look into refunding my $389.09 and the trim would be repaired ASAP.
4 months later, nothing and told by GM he would return call next day, 5 days later and no call returned... Don't buy a GM vehicle, at least not from Steve's Hometown.
User's recommendation: Don't buy vehicle from Steve's Hometown

Verified ReviewerAir bag issue
We purchased a 2014 Buick Enclave for our granddaughter in January, 2022. We found out there is a potential driver's side airbag issue.
Buick has a recall on this and other vehicles because the airbag could explode with contact and throw metal shards. They've known about this since before 10/21 and they tell me they don't have a fix for it yet. It's been over 25 months and no fix. I am livid.
Would the people in charge at Buick be so cavalier if their granddaughter owned one of these vehicles?
My understanding is the recall was for over one million vehicles. Does it take some horrible accident to get them to react?
Preferred solution: I want the vehicle FIXED!
