Buffalo Creek Farms - Multiple purchases
I have purchased 3 kittens from Kelly. All 3 have been fantastic! I was happy with how they were raised and agree with a prior review at how social they are. They act more like a dog... sweet and want to be sitting next to me at all times. Never had any issues-

I’m not sure if these people are real that have the complaints from above. I purchased from a very elite breeder that had champion Persians that she showed and it was a wonderful experience. I also purchased a maile from Buffalo Creek. I did drive to the farm to see the parents and the conditions they were raised in. It was a separate building built just for the cats and a separate room for the kittens. They had both regular and the breeze litter boxes. Tons of toys and things to play on and a tv that played different household sounds as to get them more socialized. They were all very clean playful not scared at all. I drove home with my kitten sitting on my shoulder and the drive or cars on the road didn’t even phase him. He is in perfect health and the most loving cat I’ve ever been around. I’m not sure if the bad remarks are from competitors who don’t want her to get business or not but I always drive to pick my new family members up so I can see exactly what I’m getting before they get my money and it was nothing like what was listed.

Buffalo Creek Farms - Persian Cats

Buffalo Creek Farms - Persian Cats
I was compelled to write this review after reading some of the truly bizarre negative comments about Buffalo Creek Farms in Lawrence, Kansas. When we began looking for a Persian kitten, we felt it was important to choose a local breeder that we could visit in person. We first visited Buffalo Creek Farms in February 2014 to see the cattery first-hand. The owner, Kelly Krejci, invited us to see every area of the indoor facility. In addition to being clean (no straw), well-lit and NOT in a barn, we were able to interact with the parents and kittens, and even spent some time in the kitten playroom. After speaking with Kelly, it was immediately clear that she has a wealth of knowledge and experience with Persian cats and running a reputable cattery. Incidentally, the idea that Kelly somehow obtains her kittens from mysterious Amish cat farmers is ludicrous. I just visited Buffalo Creek Farms last weekend (our third visit in the last 18 months). Not surprisingly, the cattery was just as clean as it had been the year before - still no straw, barns or Amish cat dealers - and we were greeted by several friendly adult cats when we entered. We purchased our first Persian cat from Buffalo Creek Farms in April 2014. He was well-socialized and in perfect health. Now, more than a year later, he continues to be source of amusement and delight for us. We have been so pleased with him that we are preparing to purchase our second kitten from Buffalo Creek Farms. I would strongly recommend Buffalo Creek Farms to anyone who wishes to purchase a quality, purebred Persian kitten. Ron Overland Park, KS

A Wonderful Cat - Thank You Buffalo Creek Farms

I obtained a kitten from Buffalo Creek Farms back in 2009. My cat was flown into Boston for pick up. I had absolutely no issues and Kelly was in contact with me every step of the way. She even called to make sure he arrived and everything was okay. Kelly has truly cared about Pinny and has kept in touch with me over the years relative to his progress and to give me any advise I may need in caring for a Persian. My cat has a great personality and is very sociable. He has no health issues and is a great cat. He would not be a great cat if he had a bad start. Thank you Kelly for such a great kitty! I would definitely recommend this breeder.

Kittens from Buffalo Creek

I purchased kittens from Buffalo Creek farms approximately two years ago. one is a cream and the other a black and white. They are both normal and well adjusted. I have owned Persian kittens for approximately thirty years. and I have quite a bit of experience with this breed. I have been lucky and have not experienced the issues described in one of the reviews. The kittens I got from Buffalo Creeks Farms were declared to be healthy little kitties by my excellent veterianarian of thirty years. Buffalo Creek is extremently clean and a loving atmosphere for kitties . Glad I found them

Buffalo Creek Farms - Kitten Addoption Review from Newcastle, Oklahoma

I feel like I should share my experience with Buffalo Creek Farms. I adopted my kitten from Kelly around February 2014. My parents drove up to Kansas to pick up my kitten for me. The cats were kept in a portable shed and everything was disgusting. There were cats with swollen eyes and one cat was missing an eye or looked to be missing an eye. All the cats looked depressed and would not come up to my parents to be pet like normal cats do. When my parents brought the kitten home that night I couldn't even hold or pet my new cat. I had to immediately give her a bath because she was covered in *** and urine. You could tell she was not taken care of at all. Before I decided to adopt the cat Kelly did tell me that the kitten only had one toe on each front paw. I decided to adopt her anyway because I was wanting a lifelong friend not a cat to show or anything. When I took her to the vet I found out not only does she have only 1 toe on each front paw she only had 8 toes altogether. One back paw has 2 toes and split out like a lobster claw and her other back paw has 4 toes but one toe has 2 claws coming out of it. All her nails are twisted and are poking into her paw pads. She also has gastrointestinal problems. She has had diarrhea and refused to use her litter box since day 1. I've taken her to multiple vets and they each tell me that her mutations are because she is inbred. I called Kelly after my vet appointment and she basically called me and my vet a liar and started screaming at me saying I had to bring her the cat back. I told her no. I may have medical problems with this kitten but I would never ever take her back to that horrific place. These aren't just animals. They deserve a lot better than to have been raised and to live in that kitty mill. Oh and she charged me $600 for a kitten that can't even walk straight or jump. She rips you off because all she cares about is money.

POOR SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR BABY ANIMALS

Kitten aged 10 weeks arrived via United Air in sickly condition and died 7 days later despite Veterinary intervention. Kelly Krejci, owner of BUFFALO CREEK FARM, refunded me in full. She also expressed regret at the sad outcome of this transaction. However, in dealing with other breeders in the past I have to mention the following: a) although I emailed her my phone # from the first contact, she never called me, did everything via email; b) she did not tell me the kitten was using the 'Breeze System' a relatively new system, creating unnecessary confusion for both kitten and me; c) she asked me virtually NOTHING about the home this kitten was coming to -- not whether I smoked, or had large dogs, a big family or no family -- showed not the slightest interest in the destination of this little animal in her care; d) whereas most breeders have only a few kittens available, Kelly has many; e) no photos are offered of the parents of the kittens, you have to ask for them; f) transportation can be made much easier for a small animal by finding the shortest flight but Kelly simply booked the kitten on a long flight that landed at rush hour, adding to the time she had to be in transit. On the whole, there was little attention paid to the idea of making this transition from the Farm to my home a healthy and happy experience for me or the kitty. Heather Kane, NY

1. Written by Lynn on July 17, 2012 From Wichita, Kansas, US

We purchased a beautiful, healthy kitten from Buffalo Creek Farms. We also visited the cattery; met the kitten's parents & played with the other kittens. The Cattery was clean and efficiently run. The adult cats were separated by gender. The mothers and babies had there own area, as well. There were plenty of toys and climbing units; as well as a bathing room.

We spent several hours with Kelly in her home where she went over all aspects of raising a happy Persian. She also ask us to bring the cat back to her if at any point; young or old, we felt we couldn't care for him.

Our Vet proclaimed our kitten healthy AND very social.

Buffalo Creek Farms sells Persian kittens produced on Amish farms

To those of you thinking about purchasing a kitten from buffalo creek farms I would advise you to save your money and purchased from a reputable breeder. I am compelled to share my experience with buffalo creek farms with all the potential future customers in hopes that they do not have to go through the same living nightmare our family has with Kelly Krejci. We purchased the male tabby kitten from Kelly in the spring of 2011 and soon as we picked him up from the Airport we could tell he was suffering from malnutrition, he lacked any socialization skills and clearly came from a kitten mill. He had straw tangled in his fur and had an offensive odor. When we tried to pick him up he shivered with fear of wet on himself. He was very skinny and frail. Regardless of everything we tried to assure him he was safe in our care he refused to come out from under the couch. He was too terrified to eat or drink and began to drop weight that he really couldn't afford to lose. We contacted Kelly and expressed our concern, she ask us what his ID number was on her website. When I told her his ID number then she told us to get an eyedropper and force water down him, that was the only advice or help she offered. Fearful he was on death's doorstep we took him into the vet where there they discovered what we had suspected, he was clearly a product of a kitty mill. Our vet said he was infested with ear mites, pinworms and fleas. He was so dehydrated they hooked him to intravenous fluids right away- after four days in the icu he was able to come home but only with a sack full of medicine. Administering this medicine orally created further trauma to his mental well-being. After 2 1/2 weeks of pulling him out of under the bed to medicate him we noticed a patch of hair missing above his right eye so back to the vet we went. The vet took one look at him and said "that is ringworm" he preceded to tell me how highly contagious ringworm was and that I would have to thoroughly disinfect any and all areas our new kitten had been. He dipped him in a sulfur Lyme dip that smelled like rotten eggs, then sent me home with more pills to administer for the next three weeks. During this time both of my children developed patches of ringworm on their arms and legs. Between the kitten an treating our kids it has been an exhausting summer of trying to rid my home, furniture, carpets of all the ringworm spores and fleas. Disgusted that our new kitten experience, which was supposed to be fun, had become a living nightmare I wondered if I was the only person who had such a horrific experience with buffalo creek farms. I searched until I located the USDA phone number for Kelly's area. I was shocked beyond belief to hear that Kelly Krejci was a animal broker for numerous types of animals like persian kittens, himalayan kittens, goats and rabbits. I was informed that Kelly Krejci of buffalo creek farms buys these animals from the Amish and resells them on the internet through her website. http://www.buffalocreekfarms.net/ This explains how one person can have so many available animals at all times of the year. It also explains the straw in our kittens coat, he was raised in a barn. I thought nothing of her cattery name Buffalo Creek Farms until I did research and found out the type of real cat farms her kittens originate from. I would advise anyone thinking of supporting this kitten mill operation to walk away from her and save yourself the heartache our family has endured through the purchase of this very ill little animal, and shame on you Kelly! We love our kitten despite all of his medical conditions, and the $2700 vet bill he has ran up in his short time here, however it is important to know the animals she markets on her website are in fact the products of filthy dirty animal farms right down to their straw beds. I do hope sharing my experience will save other families similar experiences. I am a reputable breeder of Persians, first of all if you have to ask what "ID" number a kitten is,that's a huge red flag they are a mill. I wouldn't think of letting a Persian kitten go under 2 lbs,,,or at least 11 or 12 wks.

Persian kittens are so very frail. There's no reason the kitten should have worms either. Shipping is never a good idea. Reputable breeders don't like to ship.

Definitely do alot of research before buying.

Good breeders do charge more, but you get what you pay for. Raising Persians the right way is not cheap by any means.

Tyjai Ber

I call ***!! I'm not a friend of Kelly's, yet a second time customer.

I've been to her facility four times within the last two years and yet nothing is different. This woman makes meals for her kittens with real chicken so to say they are malnourished is ludicrous! I have two of the biggest boys I could ask for and was blessed with another in which she informed me of being a porker and boy was she spot on! Cats are different individuals and can easily be traumatized by certain events and/or people.

Maybe the travel experience wasn't up to par as it should be. Maybe your home is not equipped to raise a Persian.

I don't know, but your issues are not from the breeder at hand. I suggest you begin to look within your own lifestyle before pointing fingers!!

I question some of the comments on this review. How did one reviewer write that she saw many kittens with their mothers in one area.

But then you say that Kelly does buy the kittens from other places and resells them. Does that mean she bought the mothers too? Doesn't add up. How do you not know she cleaned her place before you came out there?

I'm sure she did. Plus, I find it strange that all the reviewers said the opposite on every point the blogger wrote about. Even as far as saying the kitten might of got sick from the flight, it is stressful for kittens. But then she said her kitten came out purring.

I think Kelly and her family wrote every review here so to make others think her kittens are purrrfect! Don't know the last time I ever heard on ringworm from a flight.

Thank you for posting this and giving me a heads up about Buffalo Creek and their kitten mill ways.

I will be sure to spread the word on her practice in my area too.

Signed

I have purchased a kitten from kelly, i have driven to her home/business. she does not raise kittens in a barn, she does buy them from anyone and resell them.

i did meet her beautiful mothers and fathers. i actually found her place to be very clean, sore eyes are a comon problem amongst kittens. i feel before you post things that you do not know, you should have visited her place and seen for yourself.

maybe your kiiten got ill while being shipped??? i am sure that was very tramatic for a very small kitten.

Thank you for writing this review , I suspected this was a kitty mill and my assumptions are correct. The fact that there is no genetic testing or health guarantee on these kittens is what turned us away from this place....thank goodness!

I purchased a beautiful cream/white boy from BuffaloCreek persians. Excellent kitty came to me clean healthy and purring away.

I would contact BuffaloCreek persians again. Tracy Rutkowske
