Unethical sales practice form Bronx Honda Dealership.
This is the worst car dealership that I have been to. I was looking to buy a pre certified used car so I performed my research online and I came across a Honda Accord for a good price in the Bronx Honda inventory. I went down to the dealership with my auto finance already secured through my bank (one of the top financial institution in the country). When I got there, I attempted to get even a better deal for the car but that didn’t work out in my favor; nonetheless, I was willing to purchase the car for the online price. Throughout the negotiations with the sales person and the manager, they attempted to get me to do my auto financing through them, although they knew they couldn’t offer me a better interest rate than the rate I already secured, so I dismissed their offer each time they brought it up. They also said - if I finance through them and I don’t like the rate, I could always refinance with my bank and get the same rate my bank is currently offering. Why would I want to go through such a hassle?! And there is no guarantee that I would get the same refinance rate as my current rate. I also ignored that ridiculous statement and informed them that I am just going to go with the financing that I already secured for a low rate. I presented them with the bank draft issued for my financing and the manger immediately tried to dismiss the payment. He said the pre-approved check might take 5 days to clear and that I wouldn’t be able to take the car off the lot today. I informed him that the check includes the contact information for the loan department which he can call and verify that the check was certified and approved for the car purchase, but he had no interest in confirming the check.
The manager then informed me that Bronx Honda policy for purchasing a car with a financed check - is to make the customer sign a contract stating that if for some reason the check doesn’t clear that they can use the customer’s provided information to apply for a new financing (without the customer being present). Which basically means that the customer will have a contract to agree to any financing with any rate that their loan department offers. This is so wrong!
I believe this Honda dealership tried to lock me into a contract with them at any rate they would determine.
I told them that can’t agree to such a contract and began to leave the dealership, but I asked them another question before leaving - if for some reason the check doesn’t clear would I be given an opportunity to come up with another form of payment/financing on my own before you use my information to apply for new financing through your company and they said no.
Unfortunately, I can’t remember the manager’s name and he is not on their website at this time but he is white male that appears to be in his 50s or 60s and he has an accent (European maybe). This individual is a very unethical.
Bronx Honda - Customer Care Review from Fair Lawn, New Jersey
I leased a 2014 Civic from Bronx Honda almost three years ago and it was the most pleasant car transaction I ever experienced. I got a fair deal and the salesman, Alex, was absolutely accommodating and terrific during the entire process.
Now that my lease is almost over, my first thought was to lease another Honda from Bronx Honda and why not? If the first experience was so excellent, then why shouldn't the second one be as well? I figured that I'd get great customer service and a great price. I went in to discuss leasing a 2016 CR-V LX AWD with Peter, who quoted a price of $2000 down and $219/mo for a 15,000-mile 36-month lease.
He would even have Bronx Honda take my old car and finish the last five payments. This is what was said to me in plain English and I even wrote the details down. I returned a few days later, ready to put down the $2,000, leave my old car, and drive off with the new one as quoted. When I finally sat down with Peter to discuss the numbers, he told me that in order to get the $219/mo lease, I'd have to put down $3,800 not $2,000 as originally quoted.
He then told me that if I put down $2,000, the lease would be $299/mo. Basically, he back peddled and gave me different numbers than what he previously quoted. He claimed that the extra charges were "taxes" and "dealer fees", which were fees that were NOT charged to me by Alex during my first lease transaction. He went down to $247/mo, claiming that the CR-V LX is a "huge upgrade" over my current Civic and that I "should expect to pay more", which I found to be an extremely disrespectful thing to say to a customer and a repeat one, no less.
Of course, I walked out. I am absolutely disgusted by Bronx Honda. How are you going to try to shaft a repeat customer and misquote a price?
The person I dealt with the second time around was extremely dishonest and knows zero about retaining customer loyalty. I will never purchase another vehicle from Bronx Honda and I will personally see to it that I will let everyone I know who is a Honda owner or wants to become one to avoid Bronx Honda.
Bronx Honda - Car Lease Review from New York, New York
If there was an option to give no stars or negative stars... This place would never get even one star from me. They are a bunch of crooks and schemers.
I had been leasing from Honda of New Rochelle for nine years and never had a problem with returning cars and leasing a new one. So I thought I'd try Bronx Honda since they are much closer to my home. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE that was!
The day I went I was assisted by Ritchie. I told him numerous times I owed about four months left on the vehicle I was returning. Honda of New Rochelle always took over the remaining payments and I didn't have to worry about anything while leasing a new vehicle. About two weeks after I left with my new vehicle, I receive a letter in the mail saying I owe American Honda $1200. I went back to Bronx Honda to let them know what was going on and Ritchie had the nerve to tell me I never made him aware of the remaining months on my previous lease. I was then referred to one of the managers which was no help at all and was told I would receive a call from another manager which never happened. I wish I remembered their names because they would definitely be on here as well.
I never received a call back from anyone at Bronx Honda and every time I called back I was given the run-around. For sake of saving my sanity and credit... I paid the $1200 for a car I no longer was in possession of as well as the fees I had already paid for the new vehicle I had leased.
If you liked to get played for a fool and cheated by snakes in suits... Definitely visit Bronx Honda for a vehicle. But if you really want a Honda and a great deal and actually enjoy great customer service... I suggest taking an extra 20 minute drive to Honda of New Rochelle. Honda of New Rochelle is pretty amazing and I'll definitely be going back once the lease at this *** whole of a place is over!
BRONX HONDA IS A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!
BRONX HONDA SERVICE MANAGER REFUSED TO PERFORM OIL CHANGE DUE TO SURVEY
5/27/2014 APPROX. 1 PM I WENT TO BRONX HONDA FOR AN EXPRESS OIL CHANGE.
THE SERVICE ADVISOR AFTER RETRIEVING THE NECESSARY INFORMATION TOLD ME THAT I MUST SEE THE MANAGER BEFORE COMMENCING ANY WORK ON MY VEHICLE WHICH I PURCHASE FROM BX HONDA. I THOUGHT MAYBE THEY WANT TO MAKE A RECOMMENDATION. THE MANAGER TOOK ME INTO HIS OFFICE AND BERATED ME FOR A SURVEY WHICH SUPPOSEDLY I FILLED OUT CITING POOR RATINGS.
SURELY I NEVER FILLED ANY SURVEY (TOO BUSY FOR SUCH NONSENSE).AS HE PROCEEDED TO INFORM ME THAT I MUST TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE I LAUGHED HYSTERICALLY ABOUT THE ABSURDITY OF HIS CLAIMS TO REFUSE ME SERVICE. I LEFT BUT NOT BEFORE EXCLAIMING EXACTLY HOW I FEEL ABOUT HIM.
Hona robbed me and thats why i stop paying my car note
my pay off amount was 16,000 and i went and dropped 5,000 and refinance the car so the pay off amount could go down to 11,000,when my next bill came it said that my pay off was 23,000,these people in bronx honda are thieves,so i was so pissed that i decided to stop paying the car, today my car was towed,i dont really know by who but they took my car.you have to be careful what mess you get into, these people in the dealers are scammers and they steal your money.
Bronx Honda charged me for repairs that they didn’t conduct.
I have a 2 year old (2006) Honda Civic which is still under full warranty. I dropped the car 9 days ago for various reoccurring problems. The dealership called me yesterday and told me that the car was ready. When I went to the dealer to pick up the car this morning, I was treated very badly and unfairly. The following is a few details of what took place.
• One of my complaints about the car was a noise coming from underneath the car for first 3-4 minutes each time I drive the car after not driving for a few days. The service advisor (Kathy) told me that the mechanic un-bent a metal within the break system and the cost of this was $100. I asked to see what the mechanic un-bent (I am a Mechanical Engineer with a M.S. degree. I am unconvinced that a bent metal will not cause a problem that I described above). Both individuals I dealt with (Kathy and John Ross, General Manager) refused to show me what was done on the car. I explained that I felt uncomfortable paying $100 for un-bending a metal and I needed to see and understand what was done. They were very short with me and simply said no. Then, I asked if I could speak with the mechanic who allegedly un-bent this mysterious metal. I was told that it was not an option either. I was warned that I had to get my car out of their service center that day or I would be charged $35/day storage fee. I had no option but pay for a service that I,
a) didn’t ask for,
b) doubt that Bronx Honda repaired anything to begin with,
c) or even if they did, that repair was not authorized and most likely unrelated to my original concern.
• Allegedly, Bronx Honda mechanic test drove my car for the noise and found out that one of my concerns (road/wind noise) was due to faulty gasket around the windshield according to Kathy, one of the service advisors. When I went to the dealership to pick up my car, the following is what I was told “Because your car didn’t have enough gas in the tank, we couldn’t continue the test drive and we just didn’t do the necessary repairs”. This explanation shows the lack of customer service at this dealership. In a matter of fact, the car had still plenty of gas when I picked up the car. When I asked John about this, his response was “You are all set. Your car doesn’t need a gasket. Good bye”.
• The overall experience dealing with these two individuals (Kathy and John) was very unpleasant. They were not interested in helping, listening or accommodating any needs of mine. Their approach was “Our way or highway, we have your keys. You don’t pay; you don’t get your keys”.

I am having some similar issues, and the manager's name is Yankee. Or that's how they call him.
