  • - Parking lot has a 6 ft square, ~5 in deep hole with a central storm drain; it damaged tires, rims, and the car, and the manager won't pay.

My son was visiting a friend that lives here. He was driving thru the parking lot at 5 mpg and slammed his car into a massive hole at least 6 foot square cut into the pavement.

The hole was about 5 inches deep with a large storm drain in the center and ruptured both his tires and tore up his rims and underside of the car. The property manager Kathy Lepper stated that someone else hit it too and that "it's not my fault and we're not paying for any damages".

Can't seem to get anyone to talk to me at Barrett and Stokely either, the owner of this property. To think he was interested in moving there!

Satan if you would actually go to the property area I am talking about you would realize that it would be almost impossible to go more then 5mph without crashing into an apartment. My son is not fabricating or a ***!

Maybe you should refrain from this until you have reviewed the facts. I have witnesses that can testify to this and a wrecker driver that was surprised that there was not significantly more damage from a 5in deep hole, with no cones, barricades or lighting around it.

It was also pitch dark! We have plenty of photos of the hole, car, and parking area for our court case when needed.

Call the county assessors office to find out the owners then do a insurance claim on them , they are liable for his damage .

Driving at "5 mpG"??? Gonna assume you meant "mpH" ...

and he couldn't see a 6' square hole cut into the pavement in time to stop? At FIVE MILES PER HOUR?????

What a joke of a complaint. Either you're fabricating this or your son is a ***.

AI Highlights
  • - No walk-through; no follow-up contact.
  • - They charged to replace carpet.
  • - They kept the security deposit and didn't contact me.

Just left Braeburn Village Apts in Indianapolis after 4 years. They did not have time to do a walk thru but promised they would call if there was a problem.

Didn't hear a word til I got the assessment and bless my soul but they charged me to replace the carpet! Still won't contact me - kept my security deposit. Don't trust anyone even if you've done business with them for years!

Even if the staff is buddy-buddy with you! I plan on going back and telling everyone in the area what they did and I've already told the people I recommended to the complex to go elsewhere.

:( I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU..WE LIVED THERE FOR APPRX 5 YRS. I KEPT ALL THE MOVE IN PAPER WORK AND INDICATED ON THE PAPERWORK PRIOR TO MOVING IN THE PRBS & ONCE WE MOVED WHY DID THEY TRY TO CHARGE US FOR THE DAMAGE THAT WAS ALREADY THERE PRIOR TO US MOVING IN.

& THEN TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR CARPET. I TOOK THEM TO COURT..THEY DID NOT RECEIVE ALL THAT THEY WERE EXPECTING.
