AI Highlights
  • Bought a used truck from Boykin Motors.
  • Engine light came on within 100 miles; it ran poorly.
  • Spent over $13,000 and sold the truck after repairs.

I recently purchased a used truck from Boykin Motors in Smithfield. The check engine light come on before I even put 100 miles on the vehicle..

It began to run terrible and when I called them the salesman (Brian) would not even speak with me on the phone.. Instead he got the secretary to bs me and get me off the phone.. I then went up there in person only to be informed that "the truck was fine when it left the lot" It is my belief that they knew the truck was a lemon when they sold it to me.. I think they patch most of there vehicles up long enough to sell them and then its on the customer to deal with the expensive repairs..

I will add just to be fair that they did replace one part on my truck that didnt even fix it and left the bad parts on top of the engine to just roll around under the hood.. It cost them about 40 dollars to do this.. This is not the first story I have heard about them since telling others about my experience.. I sold the truck after repairing it myself..

I spent over 13,000 dollars with them and got treated this way..

Please do not do business with them.
