I bought 2 tickets online from Viagogo to see the 'Battle of Brisbane' - a boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn, held in Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on 2nd July 2017. I paid $440 per ticket.
When the tickets arrived by email about one month later (one week before the fight), they turned out to be Ticketek tickets with a face value of $99 per ticket. Even with booking fees added to the cost, I believe the markup was extremely exhorbitant. I probably would not have complained if the seats, for the price I paid, was anywhere near the fight ring. But, as it turned out, we were seated so far from the ring that we could only watch from the big screen.
The couple seated beside us suffered the same predicament.
The wife bought the tickets as a surprise wedding anniversary gift to her husband, but was scolded instead for getting ripped-off by Viagogo. I believe I am entitled to some refund, and there must be a legal way of stopping internet companies like Viagogo from victimizing unsuspecting people like us.
