Bookit.com booked the wrong trip for us
We called bookit.com to schedule our trip to Universal Studios. We called them because we wanted to make sure we got a hotel that had continuous transportation to the park. A few days before our trip, we called to confirm. Turns out our hotel only had continuous transportation to Disney World. Bookit.com offered to reimburse us $200 to compensate for parking. They offered us no other options. The included transportation, not having to drive, and everyone being able to leave the parks when they wanted was the whole purpose in using a company to book. When we got to Orlando we discovered our hotel wasn't just near Disney World. It was in Disney World! That meant we had to drive in both Disney and Universal traffic. There was a hotel the same as ours located right next to Universal where we should have been. Bookit.com refused to make any changes to our hotel or to our tickets to make the trip more convenient. They did tell us they would work with us to come up with a reasonable compensation. We spoke to several people and were eventually forwarded to a supervisor...who would be out of office for two weeks. After two weeks, we called again to find she'd now be out of office another week. We spoke to someone else and were transferred to another supervisor...who was out of office. This happened at least three times. They finally spoke to us today, nearly two months after our trip, and refuse to do anything additional for us. After making us wait 2 months, telling us they'd work with us, and passing us from person to person. We will not be using this company again. If we'd wanted to screw up our reservations, we could have done that ourselves.
Bookit in Somerville, Massachusetts - Charged credit card $300 more than quoted
If anyone is thinking of using BookIt.com to book a holiday, I'd rethink using their website. My credit card was charged (instantaneously) $300 more than the 'grand total' (inc taxes) quoted on check out. I booked a Vegas flight and hotel package, their 'deal of the day' for $1245 for 2 people. All was peachy until I received the confirmation email stating I had been billed $1545! Their customer service reps have repeatedly promised to sort out the issue but 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting for a resolution. I first was told over the phone that 'it was still a good deal' and then when I was disinclined to agree, was transferred though to a supervisor who assured me they would look into it and get back in touch with me. I heard nothing for 2 and a half weeks so I emailed and received a reply stating that someone would get back to me in 72 hours. 5 days went by and nothing, and no responses to further emails I sent were forthcoming. I found Bookit.com on Facebook and left a public message outlining my dissatisfaction and the person(s) manning it promised they would 'personally' deal with it. 4 days later and STILL nothing. The old adage 'If it seems to good to be true, it probably is' seems pretty fitting right now. Next time we'll stick to Expedia who, incidentally, are offering the same package for $100 less than what we ended up paying anyway. My credit card issuer is currently looking into the matter, I don't know how successful they will be, but I don't feel Bookit.com are going to be of any assistance at this point. Live and learn I suppose.
We booked an all-inclusive vacation to Cozumel, Mexico with Bookit.com. Our flight to and from Cozumel, Mexico was cancelled on Frontier and Bookit.com never notified us. The day before the trip I tried to pull up my Flight on Frontier to check our seat assignment and it wouldn't pull up my reservation, so I called Frontier directly. They said, thanks for calling us. Your flights have been cancelled. We notified Bookit.com since we didn't have your email or phone number. Luckily the woman at Frontier was kind enough to get us rescheduled on another airline for the same dates as our original flights. When I contacted Bookit, they said our computer says we sent you an email notifying you that your flights were cancelled. If you didn't get it, maybe it went to your spam folder. I checked my spam folder...no emails from Bookit. Plus we got all the other emails from Bookit...especially the email that said they got our money. They didn't seem to care that our flights were cancelled and we, on our own, found out only a day before showing up to the airport. Had we not checked into this we would have showed up at the airport only to find out there was no flight for us. I will NEVER use Bookit.com again, and I will tell everyone I know not to use them. I expect someone to followup with me if my flights are cancelled and a new flight has to be re booked. When they didn't get a response from us they should have called us. They think their computer generated email should be sufficient. That's very poor customer service.
I would just like to warn your wonderful hotel that we (my family) were scammed by an online booking agency. You should NOT do business with them! On Monday (1/9/12) my husband was looking for our spring break vacation online. He came across a deal on Bookit.com...
Bookit doesn't include airline baggage fees
This is my second time planning a vacation to Mexico through Bookit. The first time went so well I decided to try them again. What ticked me off is, when I visited the airline's website (Spirit Airlines) after receiving my itinerary, imagine my shock when I saw the ridiculous fees for carry on bags, $30 per bag for International flights. Since we'll have 2 bags, each way, there's an extra $120 we have to incur. When I wrote, their reply was I could expect an answer to my inquiry in 10 to 15 days. I called a customer representative, she said they always suggest we check the airline's website, but I was never told that. I'm very disappointed.
Don't use bookit
I wish I would have just booked with the hotel and airline directly instead of using bookit.com Bookit.com adverstises 50% off for a flight and hotel in costa rica but I would have paid the same if I purchased from the hotel and airline directly. Since I used bookit, I had to fly on flights chosen by bookit, not me. Also, bookit charged me 35 dollars for a taxi from the hotel to the airport. When I landed, no one was at the airport to pick me up and I had to pay another twenty five dollars for the cab. Of course, bookit isn't returning any of the money!
Bookit.com- do not use this service, they take your money and you get nothing
used this web site to book travel for our family vacation, bought the insurance and had to leave early, we called them before checking out and they said they would be refunded 60% of what we paid, they lye!!! Many calls no luck, be safe and use a "good" company. Families work hard to have money to travel and with the economy the way it is it was hard for us to put up the money for the trip, and we tried to save a little by using bookit.com, which was the misstate. Do not use them!!!!! it is sad that people have to be this way
Horrible customer service at BookIt.com
I have recently booked a hotel stay through BookIt.com and made the mistake to not print the booking id at the end of the transaction, assuming that I would get it in the email (they do request your email address) - as all other travel sites do. The confirmation didn't come and after a few days I assumed my transaction did not go through and made a second booking. When I still did not receive an email confirmation, I contacted them online - to no avail - and then called their toll free customer service number. After being repeatedly placed on hold, the argumentative and clearly non-sympathetic customer service rep informed me that it was all my fault and that I should know that the duplicate booking cannot be cancelled and is non-refundable. This was the first and last time that I've used BookIt.com. My past experiences with Expedia and Travelocity and Orbitz have been good - but BookIt.com has been nothing but an exercise in frustration. My son and I were looking forward to this trip, but losing money has changed our perspective. Stay away from them!
Bookit.com Do NOT Use
I made my reservation with Bookit.com sometimes in August 2010 for travel in February 2011. On the morning of my travel I found out that I was put on misconnecting flight. Called the airline company who stated that my flight was changed 5 times since the booking. Unable to get through bookit.com that morning as their offices were closed. I decided to by new air tickets as I had no other option. I was at the airport with 2 kids and had to spend additional $3,000 for the tickets. When I came back I reach out to bookit.com who stated that I should contact airline Continental b/c they did not notify bookit.com of schedule change. Continental staff was great and sent me all the info that I requested. It took me a while to get to the right place but I was able to get what I needed. Once I provide them with everything, they state that it is my responsibly to check the flight status 12 hours before departure. Well an e-mail on five separate occasions or even a phone call would have been nice. So Now we are in June and I been trying to speak to them since February but they do not care b/c they got paid. So please please do not book with them, you have better companies out there, I booked with others that called me and made sure that the change that is made is what I want.
Do not use Bookit!
Use Bookit with extreme caution. We booked an all inclusive vacation to Punta Cana earlier this year. The itinerary was booked 2 months in advance. Approximately 36 hours prior to departing for our trip we discovered that our itinerary had been changed without any notification. The return leg of our flight itinerary had been rescheduled. We had now been forced to return one day earlier. Here's the rub. I asked Bookit what recourse we had for the shortening of our trip. The response was take it up with the airline. After several hours wrangling with the airline, we were able to secure a full refund for the flight portion of the trip. I contacted Bookit again to seek their assistance in retrieving a refund for the hotel portion of our package. We had decided to cancel our4 day getaway because it had now been shortened to 3 days. Bookit only retrieved two night's stay. We had to forfeit close to $500.
