Spoke with customer service and they were unable to explain why I was charged a higher tax fee than a friend for the exact same booking. They stated their prices are live, but when I try to rebook I am still being charged the higher fee. They then said I agreed to the rate, of course I did how would I have any prior knowledge I would be charged more than my friend. They offered a credit for future booking, which could have easily been applied to this order. I do not recommend this service to anyone.

If you wonder why Bookit.com is not responding to your emails or just simply avoiding paying their bills, don't be surprised by this. They owe our hotel a lot of money and on top of this I just found out they have not paid a lot of hotels in the past few months...

Bookit has totally screwed us. They sent an email late last night, cancelled our trip at 3 am after our 3rd payment to Mexico was approved by Discover, they "bookit" declined it because of a change of address. Now they are saying to bad pretty much. What a terrible thing to do 3 days before we leave. Told my Brother in law what happened, weird, his trip was cancelled too. They fixed his. We leave in 3 days for our bestfriends wedding and have no where to stay after paying thousands. Sounds like this pretty common for bookit. Sad. They better make this right.

I posted a recent review about my experience with Bookit.com not booking to single men. It was suggest by this website that I try to call the customer service number, 888-868-0940. I would say try that before you waste your time on their website. I am a 55 year old professional and this is the first bad review I have ever given publicly about either a product or service. Vacation and travel are precious times and memories that I would not dare trust to a company with such a poor record. The videos of satisfied customers do not compare to the many complains I have seen online. Bookit on line=*** POOR. If it sounds to good to be true....

Terrible customer service - stay away from Bookit.com

Here's the letter I just sent to these guys. I suggest that you STAY AWAY from Bookit.com. They should call themselves "Tookit.com" I have just had a terrible time with your customer service group and will be posting as such to all of my social feeds and all of the review sites I know of. I unfortunately had to cancel a pre-paid hotel reservation of over $1,700 due to family sickness. Because I was within the cancellation window, I asked Bookit and the hotel for an exception and to refund as much of my fee as possible. The hotel was willing to re-book over $1,000 of the $1,200 that they received for the 5-night stay and I am in their debt; I will be visiting the area again soon and will definitely stay there. Bookit.com, on the other hand, chose to keep ALL of the nearly $500 in fees that they made as part of the reservation. I spent hours on the phone listening to hold music, and was told multiple times that "someone" would be calling me to help me out, with no return call. I was just told that your company will NOT be refunding me a dime. Not only that, I was somehow lectured about how this transaction is like hiring my brother to sell my bike. (No, I did not understand it either). The person on the phone even disputed the $$ breakdown, despite my having a copy of the invoice from the hotel to Bookit.com showing that your site kept nearly 30% of the entire fee I paid. You had one chance to make me a customer for life, and you missed it. I now have multiple chances to post the true facts of my experience with Bookit.com on as many review sites as I can.

I used bookit 5 times before but on the 6 time they fell to the bottom.i paid for a trip in oct.that was to be in feb.11 days before my trip they informed me i did not have a room.they lied and said it was the resort however they overbooked.how they chose me to cancell i have no idea.they did not offer me another place or any kind of adjustment.yes i did get my money back .lousy lousy customer service and a real didnt give a *** attitude..

My friend and I were supposed to leave March 4th for Jamaica. We received an email and call saying they were having " internal issues " and had to move us to another hotel. They said they would put us in a comparable hotel. Well that was a joke the places they said we could stay were not as nice. When we gave them the names of options we were willing to go to they said we would have to pay the difference. I ended up calling the hotel myself and that is when I was told the hotel is no longer accepting reservations from book it due to Non payment. Like many others have said book it's customer service is terrible you are on hold forever and they flat out lie to you. Here is a tip for everyone that put your trip on your credit card. Call your credit card company and they will help you dispute the charges. Book it told us they would only refund our hotel but we would get a credit for our airfare and we would need to call about the insurance we paid for. Even know all three of these things were purchased through book it. I am also going to contact BBB what they are doing to people is terrible. We ha e paid them in full and are now fighting for a refund. I will Never use them again!!!!

The short story is I booked a room; asked to change the dates slightly months in advance. Bookit agreed to everything but failed to actually follow through with their promises. I cannot trust this company and feel sad for anyone who has the experience I did. The long story is a tear jerker. It involves lots of phone calls with staff making promises, long waits on the phone, requests that went to the wrong email multiple times because of inefficient or incompetent staff and crying by the other person who went on a trip with me where we tried to save a bit of money.
