Boats Express
Boats Express Review
Boats Express is not a Boat Transporter they are merely a Broker or "Agent" as they like to be refereed to that act as middle men between the customer and the transporter. They don't own any trucks or trailers nor do they have any employed drivers.
To be blunt, they are salespeople that have a list of transporters. They contact the transporters, get the lowest rate and add there markup to it in order to turn a profit. Sometimes this can be a valuable service to you if they deal with quality, reputable transporters. Other times it can be a complete nightmare as you can imagine.
You should ask yourself do I want to pay a fair and reasonable rate in order to make certain I'm getting what I'm paying for or do I just want the lowest bidder?
Do your homework before you hire anyone to move your vessel. Make sure you're aware of who is transporting your boat as well as the terms and conditions of the move.
The company " Boats Express Inc." is a typical scam!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY with a company "Boats Express Inc."!!!
They asked us to send them a CERTIFIED check, as a deposit. We agreed on transporting a boat on a certain date. As soon as they got money, ALL THE COMMUNICATION WAS OVER!!!! They would never call back on our messages, no answering phone, after proactive calling they would keep changing dates, FOOLING around with a pick up, SCREAMING and yelling on the phone. They refused to give a pars number to my broker. They never even contacted him. I'm sure there were not even planning on doing that... because IT'S ALL FAKE AND SCAM. Earlier, I wrote to them that our Marina is closed on Mondays, so they called me on Sunday evening saying: "Are you ready to pick up the boat tomorrow?" I asked if they contacted my broker, he hung up the phone. No further answer. It's good that I went to Marina and warn them about the issues we have with our transporting company, so they suggested me not to deal with them at all, and it was the best decision.
I used my work e-mail to communicate with them, I wrote them that I wish to cancel any services with them. But that didn't stop them, they would call my boss and HARASS him for money, explaining that there is a penalty fee for dispatched truck. They embarrassed me in front of all my colleagues. About 2-3 weeks I was receiving threatening calls at work/ home/ cellphone, at different time, that they want more money. I am an honest American citizen, and I'm expecting to receive a service for my money, not being threatened for MY MONEY for MORE MONEY. But not everyone is respecting a law.
With this scammers I lost time, deposit money for them, money that I overpaid for the parking at Marina, lot's of nerves and health.
I'm very pissed off, dissatisfied, unhappy and disappointed with this unreliable, unethical, very rude, disrespectful Thieves!!!
It's just amazing how nicely they trick people to send them money, and how horrible they behave after-words.
THAT'S THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. I HOPE People who are planning to deal with them will read this before they will send a deposit to those thieves and scammers!!!! ALL THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF!!!!!!
DO NOT EVER COMMUNICATE WITH THOSE BIGGEST SNEAKY PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS WITH ENORMOUS ATTITUDE: Bob Graviss Jr.(bobg@***.com) and Greg Hutchens (greg@***.com)
I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!
Boats Express Inc. is A THIEFT COMPANY.
Company agent Jim Ferrell was nice before you signed contract. I signed contract on March 25 for $1996 to pick up a boat from Brooklyn and delivered to Montreal, Canada.
He promised to schedule an appointment between 2 Marinas.
As soon I signed contract and deposited check, you ares screwed. Failure to provide pars# to my broker, screams on the phone when he talks, slacking off the job. When I canceled contract because pick up wasn't done untill April 18, they want more money to be collected for dispatched truck that never was dispatched.
Never use this company, if you use you will loose time and money. They are THEIVES.
Boat Express - Review / Complaint
I just had my boat shipped from Guaymas MX to Oregon [USA] with Boats Express and I have had nothing but major issues with them. They broke our agreed upon contract days before shipping and wouldn't refund my deposit. Boats Express threatened to keep my deposit unless I signed a second contract with them at a much higher rate. My boat was packed up ready to go and my vacation was over. They threatened to leave my boat in Arizona for as long as it was convenient for them. The finally price increased over 30% from the original contract.
When the boat arrive it had damage that occurred during transportation. The Boats Express contract states that they only use licensed shippers and claims should filed through the truck company. However, the truck company contract says that if claims are filed then Boats Express is responsible. Thus the cargo wasn't covered in transit as promised.
The service was unethical, disrespectful, and at time arguably illegal. I know good business practice and this was anything but good. I strongly suggest uses an alternate business and NOT using Boats Express as a broker. You will end up doing the leg work and only experience problems.

Same scenario. .
You won't get your money back.... :(
I had NO issues. They have moved vessels for me three times, coast to coast.
Only once was there a short delay (two days) after the load was scheduled to be picked up. I understand that boats are special and require special equipment so that was acceptable.
They probably should have not accepted to move your vessel. You sound like a whole lot of trouble.
I am writing this because there are numerous boat movers out there bad mouthing the good guys just to get their business. This sounds like one of them.
I'm in the same boat, Jim. Pun intended.
I'm two years late finding the above rant and your reply, only because I was searching for the phone number of Boats Express, lost in my switch to a smarty-pants phone. I've got you beat on the number of smooth moves, so feel justified to add my opinion to yours.
This is an aged, long-term company. The complete antithesis to "fly-by-nights" operations looking for a quick buck that the original poster claims.
