In early 2024, I received a safety recall notice from BMW Canada indicating that my vehicle "may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person" due to a faulty water pump electrical connector. The notice stated that the replacement part was not yet available and that I would need to wait until it became available.

In February 2025, I received a follow-up notice informing me that the part was now available and instructing me to contact a dealer service center to schedule the necessary recall repair.

Between March and April 2025, I called the BMW dealer service center in Ottawa on three separate occasions to book this service.

Each time, I was told the part was still unavailable, and I was denied an appointment. I also requested to speak with the service manager during each call. While staff took my contact information and assured me I would be called back, no follow-up occurred.

Following these attempts, I contacted BMW Canada customer service at 1-80*-***-**** and explained the issue. I was told that the dealer would be contacted on my behalf and would reach out to me to schedule an appointment.

After not hearing back, I called customer service two additional times, and each time I was given the same promise with no results.

I have now made three calls to the dealership and three to BMW Canada, yet I have not received a single return call or a service appointment. It is deeply frustrating and frankly unacceptable to face such indifference in relation to a **safety recall**.

For a manufacturer that claims to uphold high standards and brand integrity, this experience is disappointing and concerning.

It reflects a severe failure in customer service and public safety responsibility.

I will be filing a formal complaint with Transport Canada regarding this matter. In the meantime, I believe consumers should be made aware of this negligence and lack of accountability.

Preferred solution: Apology and replacement of the recalled part

User's recommendation: Think twice before getting involved with a BMW car.
