Burner igniters

Over a period of years, igniters will fail. I get that and am generally ok with the length of time that igniters will work. However, igniters are held on the burner with a small phillips head screw. The process of heating and cooling will cause some of the screws to lock in place. Trying to remove them then often causes the screw head to break off. Now you are stuck! You can't replace the igniter because the body of the screw is stuck in the burner. The only solution to the broken screw is to replace the entire burner for $60 or more. This is an engineering problem that Blue Star surely has the smarts to fix! Why don't they fix it!!!

Nothing but repairs

Updated by user Mar 03, 2022

I have contacted customer service multiple times and have been told that they are "opening a file" on my issue. I have contacted the president of BlueStar, Eliza Sheffield, who has not responded.

Please do yourself a favor and don't buy BlueStar. I've had my stove for two years and have already had to replace three burners (one of them twice) and the oven ignition, twice. Did I mention two separate gas leaks? Poorly fitting burners that bang around? Customer service is terrible, they refuse to replace my stove although I so clearly got a lemon. Today someone even told me that "ignitors need to be replaced regularly" as if I've never owned an oven before. This is my fourth home, I am in my 50's, I have never had to replace burners, grills, or ignitors. I even contacted the company president Eliza Sheffield who couldn't be bothered to respond. I will never buy again and never recommend to anyone. Avoid.

The worst Oven with their PowrOven on the Platinum Series

Updated by user Aug 25, 2021

Bluestar wasn't willing to do anything and told me to go back to the retailer. The retailer is trying to work out the full return of the range with a replacement range of a different brand.Bluestar needs to learn a lot about customer service. I felt I was dealing with...

The 48" range a nightmare. Bluestar been to house 3x since 11/2020. They say both ovens are fine, but everything comes out raw. Need to heat ovens for 10 mins/100 degree temp so to heat oven to 400, need to preheat for 40 mins! And food comes out raw. e.g. 1 hour 10 mins to cook a 4lb chicken at 375 after preheating oven 45 mins. Should only take 45 mins for 4lb chicken

Same response I received when the appliance loft lost my platinum series for six months then delivered it damaged. Sorry call the Appliance Loft.

Even when Bluestar recommended them after denying me the ability to drive to Reading and Buy direct from them. Todd Robinson Wyalusing PA

Billed me restocking fee when item didn't even ship

Ordered a cooktop with free shipping. They sent me an email telling me to call. Told me it was back ordered, but for additional $199 it would ship sooner. I complained, then they cut it to $99. I found it cheaper locally that night. I called to cancel the next morning and they said they I owed a restocking fee. Pure B.S., it couldn't have shipped in the middle of the night so they could have just cancelled everything. I'd never buy anything from this firm - I'd recommend you look elsewhere and save yourself a huge hassle.
