Starting in September 2016 my orthopedist gave me the Synvisc series of 3 injections after pre approval from Blue Shield of Ca. Now, 5 months later I received a letter from Blue Shield that the coverage for this claim has been rejected so I am getting ready to fight it, rather than pay another $1500 for these injections. The company will not process my claims correctly. First they said receipts were not submitted. Then they don't process them. I call and they say they will do it. They never do. I am going to file class action lawsuit

I enrolled with blueshield CA only because I met the age requirements on my parents insurance and was kicked off. I called to buy insurance with blueshield and they told me to go online. Note I am a high risk pregnancy and need to see a doctor in 4 weeks for a surgery to save my baby's life's or my baby dies. I express this to blueshield so they can start my coverage at the beginning of next month and not 2 months from now. They said no problem... Read more

I am a medical doctor, a hematologist, saw patient on an emergency request by the patient's hospital primary care MD. B.S. refused to pay on the basis of lack of prior authorization and I was not a contract provider, but where to get prior authorization at night? They are not available at but MD are always working. More than 2 years later, the same is still occurring. I have been on the phone 6 hours of my day checking on 10 claims that have been past due for almost a year. They have no answer so they send the claim back for reprocessing. Now their new excuse is due to a system migration we are behind on processing. No! Not the providers problem! No! I'm moving out of the country for 1 year and I needed a vacation override to take as much prescription as they'd allow me to ahead of time. They said they could do a vacation override for 3 months but I'd have to pay out-of-pocket for the generic brand I needed. Totally fine with that. After 15 years of insurance for our kids we were told today that they do not have health insurance and never have, and that the money we pay has been for dental - although they have been to the doctor and benefits have been taken and adjusted - a complete lie; they just cancelled them because someone decided too. I'm paying $236 per months and I also spent $2000 from my pocket. Now I need a surgery and I have to pay another $12K from my pocket until I qualify for the rest. My total maximum out of pocket supposed to be 6K total. I called them 6 times and they hang up at me after 4th times. They Do Not have an supper wiser . For nearly a year now I've had some claims that I've still not received reimbursement for and I've been fighting with them to take care of this matter for way too long. They are terrible at processing claims and no one bothers to follow up enough though I've had the misfortunate of having to call them more times then I would have liked. My husband and I recently was scammed into buying healthcare on eHealth due to loss of job & health insurance. The rep. failed to inform us that buying plans individually or family plans are not treated the same as employer issued health plans. We chose Blue Shield of CA due to having Blue shield of CA and Blue Cross Blue shield of Michigan through employers before.
