Rowlan Hill and Stephanie Garcia will rob you blind! Do not use them if you have half a brain.
Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware.
I have been working with "Rowlan" for the past five days, preparing for the auction Rowlan said would be conducted next week. He initially said he would come to Tucson from Phoenix on Monday to take his own photos, and then wanted to switch to Tuesday, but we had a conflicting morning appointment. And then finally on Wednesday (tomorrow). And then finally, after ignoring my multiple text messages, "Stephanie" calls and says she doesn't want to "disappoint" us and that she doesn't think they will be able to work with us to sell the equipment from the family business that closed 5 weeks ago.
I'm sure from Stephanie's point of view, this is no harm, no foul. But when someone tells you clearly, both verbally and in writing as I did that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE, and then you back out after five days of wasted effort, there is absolutely a "foul". I will at least credit Stephanie and to a lesser extent Rowlan for not continuing leading us on as to their intentions.
I will tell you also that I began to be concerned nearly from the start, when Rowlan did not call me back as he said he would. But I didn't make an issue of this and attributed it to possible miscommunication. But as the days wore on, the level of responsiveness became increasingly concerning. Finally yesterday, I began to do searches of reviews for Blue Leaf Auctions. I would strongly advise you to do the same before signing a contract with Blue Leaf Auctions.
You may have a perfectly wonderful experience with Rowlan and Stephanie. But beware of the warning signs of unprofessional and inadequate communication and promises unfulfilled. My feedback for Rowlan is to be more forthright and direct and communicate sooner. Perhaps also consider the axiom to under promise and over deliver, instead of the other way around.
UPDATE: We absolutely did not "have a sale". What we did is post pictures and share them with people in preparation. Not one single item has been sold. (Sounds rather like a "sour grapes" potshot to bring up the never-before-mentioned fact that we posted pictures, does it not?)
Look online at the reviews, and you will begin to see a pattern. The "hidden" reviews on Yelp are telling, as is the "C" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Rowlan may be a heluva auctioneer, and you may have a great experience, but enter with your eyes wide open is my recommendation.
- 1 day auction
- Poor communication
- Hesitation
- Backing out
Preferred solution: Recognize that a delay of 5 days represents 5 days rent
Scam, don’t trust Blue Leaf Auctions.
During auction, Blue Leaf put high pressure on us to purchase a large item, “on line bidder” was out bidding us. Explained item too big to move, we were then told we had till end of month to pick up.
Made purchase and went to get item but new home owners moved in early. Blue Leaf refused refund, months of ignored calls and texts. Even threats to counter sue us!
Eventually won in court, took almost 1 year to resolve and get our money back. They were not truthful during court, don’t trust these people!
Be Very Cautious about Hiring Blue Leaf Estate Auctions
Recently attended an auction these individuals were conducting in Apache Junction, Az. I was considering hiring Blue Leaf.
This was a huge sale, with tons of western items, native american jewelry, nascar, saddles, music instruments etc etc. It is Very clear that this company did NOT inspect items, open items, check anything! They were auctioning huge shadow box displays with old Indian jewelry in it and they did not check anything. There was 14Kt/18kt gold, lots of it also in the shadow boxes.
This company had no clue. They were selling shadow boxes full of $10K-15K in jewelry for $500-$1500. I watched one individual that purchased a flashlight collection, Yes! a vintage flashlight collection and Blue Leaf never opened any of the flashlights.
The person that purchased the collection found $4500 cash stashed in the flashlights. When I was leaving and walking to my car, I heard a lot of commotion, and walked over. Could not believe it nor could the person that purchased the collection for under $100 bucks. Buyer's lucky day at the expense of the owner/seller.
This company, in order to do this auction in one day, clearly did not do any research or inspections and was also auctioning items that they knew nothing about. They do not do any type of preview for the buyers and they will tell you that items work, when in fact they do not. Of course, all sales are final. They also do not advertise a "buyers premium", when in fact they do collect an extra 10-15% from the buyer.
One last thing I observed...... they were allowing buyers to leave the property with their purchases, before they paid. I observed two local merchants that did not have their tax id info being told that they needed to bring back their paperwork. When Blue Leaf was asked if they could watch their purchases, they said "no, take it with you and bring back your paperwork and pay at that time, we can't be liable for someone stealing your stuff." Blue Leaf Estate Auctions sounds like a great option.
Fast, convenient and they lead you to believe that you will make lots of money. This is not the case. What you will lose in mistakes, carelessness and lack of due diligence is not worth it. I am going with a traditional estate sale company.
Be VERY VERY careful before hiring Rowlan Hill and Stephanie Garcia and Blue Leaf.
I suppose this post might make more buyers come to their auctions to feed off of this company's carelessness. I do hope that it stops at least one person from hiring them to sell their loved ones property or lifelong collection.
Blue leaf is takes advantage of the elderly
Blueleaf sold my mom's and dad's belongings for next to nothing a 2007 Chevy Colorado for 1500 $ and a 2006 Buick LaSabre for 500$. Neither had many miles on them.
There where many other valuable in the house, but we received 2,800. They did some minor cleaning of the house. We live out of town so I believe that is why they took advantage. Some of my moms friends stopped by and they told them there was nothing for sale and were rude to them.
The sale was from 7:00 until noon on Sunday. When many people are at church.

Beware Blie Leaf Auctions is. Fraud!!!!
Just google complaints about this company and you will see. They are thieves, they only bring their allocated members to your auction, their set up people are thieves also!!!!!! They will threaten you and change your contract at the last minute. The company address on their contract does not exist the auctioneer is not licensed in the state of Arizona or California.
They actually sell your things to their allocated friends arriving for less than penny's on the dollar, then turn around and resell it all from their storage in Tempe AZ, along with other places they re-auction it off in the general surrounding areas of Phoenix. They are strong armed robbers. Please do your homework!!!!
Don't use this company for anything!!!!!
BAD BUSINESS
BLUE LEAF AUCTIONs is a SCAM ! BEWARE !
They Robbed my elderly parents of all their valuables !! My parents hired these thieves to come and do an estate auction and Blue Leaf owner Rowland and his wife showed up with several of their friends and several trailers ....they loaded up my parents estate .....and left without giving my parents a dime! They are strong arm robbery crooks! They feed on the weak and elderly!
BEWARE! Tell all your family and friends to stay clear of this Bad Business !
My Sale Turned Out Great
I had an estate sale company that was going to sell my stuff and they canceled on me at the last minute. I went online and found Blue Leaf Estate Auctions and they came out and were able to have my auction within the week. I was so surprised how many people showed up to buy stuff. My kitchen table brought more than I paid for it three years ago. They even sold the plastic forks and paper plates, it was really cool because at the end of the sale the house was empty and there was nothing left to take to Goodwill.
I would say yes use Blue Leaf Estate Auctions if you want to have a good sale and sell your items.

Estate Sale Consultation Review
I requested a consult for a estate sale and Rowland and his wife showed up. All they did is tell me how bad estate sales are.
I decided to use there auction in my Chandler home.
I made no money and not even sure what I was conned into. Dont use Rowland at Blue Leaf or you will regret it.
