Oppressive

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Every other medical policy we have ever had has kicked in for the difference that dental doesnt cover for wisdom teeth extraction as its in the patients best interest not to leave impacted wisdom teeth until sepsis sets in and an ER visit is required. It saves lives and money - for the both the patient and the insurance company.

It is nothing short of maddening oppression that in a state as poor as MS that even those with medical and dental insurance are expected to pay what amounts to in our case $2,346.09 out-of-pocket for a necessary medical-dental procedure.

Not very many people can afford that and will most likely risk their health/life to have full coverage by waiting until the impacted teeth have caused infection bad enough that an emergency room visit is necessary, so they can now afford the procedure. Its despicable.

Incompetence For All

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Well after 15 days and me making a trip to my doctor to get my file, and a demand for a super, I finally was able to get my meds by afternoon on the 28th!!

It took days/weeks for me to finally get someone to own this issue and stick with it till the end.

Its just sad I had to go thru 2 weeks- 10 days of phone calls and annoying the very patient staff at my Dr office.

If anyone out there is getting a new script/new Dr. And Has BCBS make sure the first time out for your PA -Prior Authorization- Make sure your records contain EVERYTHING!!

Thanks all for letting me vent.

Two stories one claim department

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Blue cross denied payment on out of network medical supply co. I get that.

I called claims office and claims department ( which they had a record of ) told me if I would submit claim forms that they mailed me and return post dated in 2018 that they would reimburse 50 % of my money even though that the provider was out of network but when I called back 3 weeks later to ck on claims a very rude Trey D told me a different story and said he wasn’t going to pay anything so I talked to his equally rude supervisor

Terrel who showed where I called and who I talk to but informed me he wasn’t even going to ask them about our conversations and then told me if I didn’t like it appeal it. You can’t get that good of service just anywhere for $ 1100.00 a month.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have talk to customer service several times. I get paid once a month.

They don't give a damn when you get paid Or even attempt to get you set up on your pay schedule. That's pretty *** customer service if you tell me.

If you are Not willing to help satisfy your customers needs, I will be canceling my policy.

It's too many insurance companies around that would appreciate my business. I will tell everybody I know not to do business with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi.

Refused infusion therapy for CIDP

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been on prednesone now for three weeks and I am just getting worse and the medical system here in Meridian compared to what I received at Watson Clinic sucks. If you want to stay alive, do not go to Anderson Hospital, Rush Hospital is much better but still much worse than the health care I received in Florida.

You could be dying and the soonest that you can see a referral doctor is two weeks, just sucks here. I can re apply, but the permanent nerve damage is just certain to be non reverse able.

They don't care the steroid is cheap compared to the infusion therapy. BSBS SUCKS.

Prescription drug coverage

Just switched from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Pennsylvania to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi does not cover many drugs that were covered there, and there is a deductible for rxs which I have never had before.

They are an absolutely out for themselves only company that nothing compares to. I wouldn't wish Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi on anyone. They are just the worst of the worst.

If I ever get a chance to switch I will in a minute. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi is the worst insurance company in the world.

Autistic child denied therapy by BCBS of MS

My son was diagnosed with Autism in April, 2013. He was 3yrs old at this time.

Since, he has been referred to numerous facilities to further his much needed care. Today, I have learned that BCBS has denied coverage for my sons Speech Therapy. Their reasoning behind this being..."BCBS doesn't provide coverage for learning disabilities." They provided coverage for his psychiatrist & psychologist, however. So, basically they cover a diagnosis based visit, but will not cover further help for the diagnosed child.

Is it just me or is something not right here? I've researched this topic & have found that only 31 states require this type of coverage.

Blue Cross offers coverage for learning disabilities. If the coverage is through your employer, the company choose a plan that didn't offer that coverage.

Employers are presented with plans from an Agent and the employer makes the choice of the type plan that is offered to their employees. Most employers choose two or three types of plans those plans come with exclusions and learning diabilties may be one of those exclusions.

BCBS of Mississippi denied coverage of a nerve pain prescription medication ordered for me. BCBS wants to explain alternative generics to my doctor as if they at BCBS have a degree--other than profiteering. When asked why NO ONE at BCBS could answer why the RX was denied NO ONE could direct me to any department that makes those decisions. I have called repeatedly but these people have layer and layer of stumbling blocks so that no one can be contacted. One guy even went so far as to say that the techs that make decisions to not cover claims or prescriptions have no formal license or training. For these BCBS people to get to decide if and when my care and prescriptions is covered is simply reckless and breaks trust on what it is I pay premiums to cover. BCBS-MS are about profit and denying any and all claims that they think they can get away with. To be so underhanded and HIDE from customers complaining is utterly cowardly. I understand why people go postal;shoot others--and why people are upset and have no hope about there being no righteousness or reliability while others scoff at their pain. These people do not care about anything but money. Apparently the maker of Lyrica (company) have not kissed up enough for the insurance companies & affiliates to prescribe this drug. As it turns out this particular drug is site-specific and hands-down claimed to work well above other drugs in its class--but too bad for me -- until the pharmaceutical company gets on the 'formulary' go list of this insurance company.

Honest people do without and get claims denied while holding all the freeloaders on their backs. I pay $1300 in insurance per month but I cannot have 30 pills at $135 because it is NOT covered. I am seldom sick; hardly ever met a deductible in my life. Today--there is no price for pain- and no limit apparently to the aggravation added to the pain when such removed people are so complacent and flippant. There is no generic for the RX ordered. And truly, I've never really been sick and now I have shingles and make a claim-- and now-- it is not covered. Really? What a fool I am for paying for insurance. I am a fool for trusting BCBS for coverage. BCBS wants people to grovel to their paper-pushers who hold all the clout. The appeals process is nothing more than BCBS meeting a regulation directive for accreditation. Having an avenue to complain by far does not indicate a resolution- only a process opportunity. The execs want to see people grovel through appeals. It is in line with placing themselves above physicians as BCBS siphons more and more from the lifelong premium paying people while the government cuts back on the free-loaders benefits. BCBS is indicative of the money-grubbing and low moral fiber of this country. It is polished and sincere out front and rotten and treacherous within. There seems to be no groups or laws that protect people from BCBS. At this juncture they are bold and brazen and push every avenue to deny claims/coverage.

It is evident that this country is without protection from corruption and greed. As honest premium paying, tax paying people have more taken away it should not be surprising that they join the freeloaders that are breaking the country or go postal and systematically figure out how to bring it all down.

If there are any suggestions on how to fight 'denials of coverage' and get the medicine that was ordered then let me know. I have paid for this coverage and I want this specific drug. I do not care for non-brand, generic, alternatives, no, this should be possible for what I pay for coverage from this company.

Lyrcia is a weird drug when it comes to coverage. It's ordered more for off-label uses (meaning other then what the FDA approved the drug to be used for) then on-label.

It's also considered a narcotic which adds a layer to it.

Bottom line I know most people I've helped have been approved to use it, but only after getting a prior authorization from their drug plan. (Also note just because BCBS administers the drug plan doesn't mean BCBS is the insurance provider for the drug plan)

They are doing the same thing to me in RI. I have been taking a name brand for two years, because the generic did not work.

They have forced me onto the generic, and I gave gotten really sick. Turns out that the generic was recalled by the FDA in October 2012 but the still will not cover name brand. Eventually, I had to buy the name brand instead of paying rent. I would have lost my job.

They do not respond to my physician's insistent appeals. I do not know what to do since I will eventually have to pay my rent instead of buying medication!
