Csl Plasma - Deferred because some guy messed up and not listen
by PissedConsumer1516121 #15161211.0
April 13th 2019. They deferred me for no reason.
The guy messed up. He restick me in my right arm without asking. I know what I heard and what I saw. I told him what some lady told me before that it was always best to just do the left arm never the right arm but he didn't listen.
I went to file a complaint but they didn't let me. Instead talk to me like I was stupid. They said I lost some blood but that wasn't what I heard and saw. Their were witnesses too and that wasn't what they heard or saw.
I heard I was flowing good that it didn't need to be messed with and that guy messed with it.
I was deferred for no reason. I'm sent a complaint in no matter what.

American Red Cross - Unpleasant First Donation Experience
American Red Cross

A blood drive was taking place at my school, and I was pressured into doing my first donation. I am EXTREMELY phobic of blood and needles, so it took a lot for me to get to the point of actually donating.
The lady who worked with me was rude and passive aggressive when I mentioned any concerns. She also unsuccessfully moved the needle around in my arm for minutes before hitting a vein. Sideways. To say the least, I did not bleed a full unit.
The lady had the nerve to tell me my donation was useless. Not sure if I will try to donate again.

I very recently donated blood , or tried to .The app was not user friendly. The Red Cross stopped giving out t shirts. I am not a needle shy person, but I have a large bruised red area that is warm to touch. The person who drew my blood inserted the needle. She could...
American Red Cross - Platelet Donation problems
American Red Cross
by LuckyClownFish154 #1491656
Giving Platelets is a lengthy (2-3 hr) and often uncomfortable experience (i.e. with a needle in each arm & blood being pumped back into you after platelets are extracted). I have twice given platelets at the Frederick, MD donation center.
Both times I had problems with a needle not be properly secured and slipping out of the vein -despite the fact that I reminded them it happened the first time & asked them to ensure it didn't happen a second time. I'll continue to give blood, but won't be giving platelets again because they don't seem to have the process 'down' very well. That's a shame because because platelets really are needed often......

My 17 year old tried to donate at her high school on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Today, four days later, I am ticked that we just spent four hours with doctors and radiologists. My daughter was treated rudely by the incompetent staff. 1st arm was unsuccessful. A...
