BUYER BEWARE! Transmission bad! Car broke down within 7 miles of the lot!
BUYER BEWARE! Transmission bad!
Car broke down within 15 minutes of driving it off the lot!....They don't allow you to test drive the vehicles! But, I did a CarFax and DMV check first, checked the fluids, checked the engine, no engine lights came on, checked the tires and rotors (you could see them through the wheels) and checked the electrical the best we could without a test drive. Everything seemed ok so we decided to buy it. I paid the extra $200 to be able to return the car in 48 hours so my mechanic look at it (if you return it, they also charge a 5% restocking fee on top of the $200!).
After paying for the car with a money order, we drove it off the lot and the transmission was NO GOOD!! We only got about 7 miles from the lot when the transmission got stuck in 3rd gear!! We had to tow it back to the lot at our expense. Then they wouldn't give the $200 back even though we didn't get more than 10 miles away from the lot!
TOTAL RIP OFF!!!! They were also going to charge me an additional $400 restocking fee!! What???? I was furious!!
How can they restock a car that they KNOW has a bad transmission? I fought and fought with them to get the restocking fee back and threatened to make a claim with the DMV and then they waived the restocking fee. BUT, I STILL had to pay the $200! So basically, I paid $200 for a test drive.
I also had to wait a day to reimbursed my initial purchase price even though I gave them the money order just about an hour earlier! DON'T GO THERE!! Their cars are ***! They rip you off every chance they get and they don't care.
And I bet the same car that broke down on me was put back on the lot!!
I can't believe they are still in business! DON'T BUY FROM BLOK!!!

Hello there, I had an unpleasant experience buying my car at BLOK AUTO Charity Auction which I would like to share and hope it would be helpful to anyone. I came to Los Angeles few days ahead of describing encounter with Blok Auto.
Checked internet, found some nice suitable vehicle and went straight ahead to have a look at it, I arrived pretty late at salon that day right before closing hours and wasn’t able to make a purchase, as you cannot pay cash immediately at the place, but have to transfer your money to “money orders” through the post, which was already impossible due to time sufficiency. This uncomfortable situation however didn’t scare me and I came all the way next day straight in the morning to complete buying the car, what took me by surprise that the morning crew which worked there where offering me to buy a car by a different price than on the original buying day. Quite interestingly that it was a 500 hundred smaller price, i would be *** to complain about their fluctuating price policy cause I got a chance to get a 500 dollar cheaper car. In a day light we found us not satisfied with chosen car and went to look for a different, from there we got offered assistance of a very nice gentlemen from the crew who put down price for us.
Seemingly helpful he wasn’t being able to answer any questions about vehicles and his roll of an assistance on a real side went down to only translating signs on the windshields of a cars and was worth basically zero, I assume we already passed the period of aggressive sells, but seriously guy was like really seemed indifferent. But there it started, and we witnessed new age of manipulative sells. When we chose the car since we are new to this area Robert kindly informed us that we must promptly insure the car before taking it from property as it he said was illegal to drive the car without it and provided a business card of his friend insurance manager. We really were thankful at that moment not completely realizing what’s going on.
As company doesn’t provide test drive Robert promised in the beginning of a deal that we would purchase two days return warranty for two hundred bucks and would be able to drive around and check it out and have an opportunity of returning vehicle in case of any inconvenience. However obvious it appears to me now, but being in a exuberant state of mind during my first car purchasing, we didn’t quite realize whole controversy of his advises, that we need to insure the car before taking it for a test driver, and then returning it in two days window. It was just a top of an iceberg. We went to the insurance company, it was few blocks away from dealership and got in the dim lit dirty old and frankly trashed with loads of waste, which was shaking from side to side by a wind coming through the open door.
Fred – insurance guy at GENERAL INSURANCE was professional in his job and by his job I mean to sell us insurance no matter of what. Unfamiliared to local customs we passionately went an hour and a half of excruciating waiting of a price estimation. That was a standard procedure convinced us Fred with his sweet voice and friendly attitude, meanwhile staring in his computer and probably just playing cards. Obviously after such a long waiting we were psychologically exhausted so no matter of the price we purchased insurance, while Fred kept repeating that it would be last time that we would have to go through it in ages.
Closing the deal Fred offered us immediately reregister the vehicle to our name since we got an insurance already, he was waving a year long paperless drive in front of our face and rushed us to purchase another hour lasting procedure DMV registration. Entirely worn out we came back to pick up the car, Robert assured us that he drove car a little by himself and it all looks very fine and we would be very happy with the vehicle. Looking in Robert warm eyes i remembered how he told us in the beginning of the deal that he had no commission and so on no interest in the deal, I gave him a tight hand shake and fifty bucks, as a thank for a insurance tip. After that he left my sight and already was unreachable, as he conveniently left for lunch for next two hours.
Exited we were exactly 5 minutes, because as soon as we drove the car we felt all screeching noises and hits of a transmission, beside which the wheel was striving to the right, which was extremely hard to control and quite dangerous frankly. Here all our troubles didn’t finished, after one day condition stopped working because all liquid liked from it, battery died overnight and overall after we brought car to repair service it appeared that generator belt wasn’t appropriately changed ever and a car had 150 miles, which could lead to complete car death any second and intensely worn out tires. In the city without a home in already third day we were facing a 1000 dollar car bill, after freshly spent 5k for purchasing this car. However I fully see our responsibility as adults for risking to purchase old vehicle without test drive, base our choice on a trust to a random person.
But as we were naïve new comers to this city I would like to warn others not to be victims which feed pockets of BLOK auto pockets and elaborate plans of its manipulative workers. I heard Los Angeles is a city of great actors, but I never thought that the best of them I would meet in Blok Auto dealership, and the funny thing is, in the end I called insurance company to check the my plan, and it turned out the cost isn’t even 50 percent of what I paid to the insurance guy be recommendation of BLOK AUTO, as a long time established partnership, well, now I see why.

Blok Auto - 2002 Dodge Durango Review from Grand Junction, Colorado
If you ask me don't go here bought a 02 Dodge Durango from them in December of 2015 bought for about 3k with 150k miles on it. Chose the Durango one cause I'm a college student and am out of state and needed a car and it was affordable and 2 because they usually last very long.
I was referred here from a family member so I thought they were a reliable company, well, I was wrong. In the past four months I had the car I had to fix the breaks which I wasn't to mad about until this past week when the car started making a rattling noise so I took it in to a well recommended mechanic and was told the engine is done meaning I need a new one. The words of the mechanic were "I'm surprised this Durango went out already all the Durangos he has seen and even owned has had more than 200k miles on it and are still running solid" he also mentioned that this problem should have been detected before even selling the car. You would think that before selling a car they would do some sort of inspection on their product.
It is going to cost $2500 to replace the engine with that and the brakes I will have pretty munch paid what I spent on it to fix it. And of course they don't have a warranty on their sales and yes I know it's an auction but I know many people who have bought cars from auctions and haven't had any problems like this these guys are unreliable and shouldn't be selling vehicles.
Blok Auto - 2003 Nissan Altima Review from Hawthorne, California
Purchased a 2003 Nissan Altima SE on 2/06/16 for my son who couldn't wait and just had to have this car. I knew going in, it would not go well, this company is shady and I know writing this review want shut them down(I can only hope) but this needs to be told.
The car that was purchased broke down on 2/8/16 took the car to the repair shop only to be told this car should have never been sold. The car radiator was severely cracked, the water pump was broken, the sensor for the car is damage, the valves are damage and there's a problem with the gas tank causing it to run through the tail pipes. Overall this car was damage beyond repair. We paid $3,300 for the car, $291 for registration and can't even drive the car.
So overall we were rip off and no way to get my money back from these crooks. I wish the government can come a shut these people down so they can stop ripping off the consumer. I'm beyond upset that I've lost so much money because I can't get a refund from these crooks. This is the second time we've gone to them the first time we purchase a 2002 Dodge Durango, drove the car home and determine that entire break system was out after taking to the repair shop.
I felt this was a safety concern and we should not have driven the car home. This car last only a 10 months, but during those months the car broke down every other month. If it wasn't the backlight going out, the car wouldn't change gears and other issues.
I told my son to do not buy another car from these theives but he just would listen and now we are out of a lot money. I honestly wish I could sue them and have them permanently shut down.
FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD
THIS COMPANY IS CONDUCTING MAJOR FRAUD. I BOUGHT A CAR FROM THEM 2 MONTHS AGO ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY NEVER OWNED THE CAR.
I CONTACTED THEM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. EACH TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE DONOR TO SEND THE TITLE. I TOLD THEM IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO SELL A CAR WITHOUT OWNING IT. I RETURNED THE CAR AND RECEIVED A REFUND, HOWEVER THEY CHARGED ME A RESTOCKING FEE!!!!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? NOT ONLY DID COMMIT FRAUD THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR IT.
AFTER READING THE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON GOOGLE I'M LOOKING FOR TO SUING THEM!!!
- Major rip off

Car Review
Sold car in fraud cannot pass smog does not run to pass smog. Claims charity tax exempt status what charity is this?
Very poor business people do not disclose known facts which make the contract void. People who have been taken advantage of contact an attorney their licensing needs reviewing. They use the word faith and charity as that is the making for their honesty of "its a really great car".
So untrue! Get you monies back and report them to everybody like the IRS.
It's A RIP OFF!
If you want to get screwed over, look to Blok Auto to fulfill that need. Want a convertible?
Roof doesn't work. Do they tell you? No. Want to get parking tickets for not having a title that THEY guarantee in 2-4 weeks?
Go to Blok Auto!
I'm sure you're all so intrigued by the "cheap" prices...but watch out, they won't tell you about all of their hidden fees! There's the initial entrance fee to view it, the 10% buyers fee, the taxes, the smog and documentation fee, the "warranty" fee and all the ticket fees your car is sure to claim.
Total rip off
I brought 2 cars from there and i should have learned my lesson the first time.. I think the only reason i didn't was because i accidentally brought a stick thinking it was the car i wanted to bid on the first time but i had to buy a part from the dealer for it when i got it home..
I didn't know how to drive a stick so i ended up giving it to my brother and going back.. I then brought a car the looked good one the outside and was told it only had one owner before me which was not true...
Well long story short the odometer for the miles did not work so i don't know how many miles were really on the car it started over heating manic said it was an engine problem... Just too many problems for one person : (
Blok Auto Auctions
BLOK AUTO sells lemons- period.
They sold me a car that had been in multiple accidents which evidence of was covered up by a good paint job.
This was not reported in CARFACTS- yet another bad company. Carfacts did not have the accurate info I payed good money to see. Both of these companies should be run out of business. What they do is unethical.
The car I purchased at a fair price had been doctored up temporarily so that it would last past the 24 hour insurance you have the option to buy. The car needed major repairs and broke down within four days.
