Verified ReviewerCompany refuses to fix my fraud issue and every time I leave a negative review they use delay tactics by trying to get more information they possess and respond to reviews like they want to help you!!
- - Identity theft occurred and Birch processed $1,410.
- - There is a lack of transparency and unclear ID rules.
- - Loans carry 500%-750% APR and high debt risk.
AVOID BIRCH LENDINGS 500%-750% INTEREST RATE LOANS THAT BURY YOU IN MORE DEBT THAN YOU CAN MANAGE!!!
BIRCH LENDING IS A CORRUPT AND DISHONEST COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN BY THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU FOR LACK OF TRANSPARENCY AND IMPROPER IDENTIFICATION PROCESS REQUIRING NO PHOTO ID OR PICTURES OF YOUR FACE TO MATCH TO A LEGAL IDENTIFICATION. This company is an absolute scam and utterly reckless.
I had my carry pouch stolen with my phone and all my other important documents and someone applied to over 12 different loan companies under my name with my information and all the loan attempts were obviously denied when the thief came upon the identification process and they were asked for an upload of my ID card and for pictures of my face from multiple angles like they are obligated to do. I have emails from the companies that Ive been approved and to contact them to provide my ID with pictures of my face to finalize the loans. I had to spend over a week contacting them about my fraud situation. Birch lending decided to process $1,410 to my account because someone had my ID# from my Mass Identification card and SSN from my social security card to upload.
This company is deleterious and one of the most insecure services Ive ever come across. By the time I received my cell phone through FIND MY PHONE, I logged into my account and was -$122. I filed for fraud and Im in the process of canceling my routing/account #s as soon as my replacement Massachusetts ID comes in the mail and I can go to my bank for identification verification. When I asked the woman from BIRCH LENDING who in their right mind would borrow $1,410 at 530% interest and pay back almost $10,000 in 12 months with biweekly payments of around $350, she said, I dont know.
I have never in my life even heard of being able to charge someone over 500%-750% interest for a year loan that wouldnt even pay for a month of rent. The ultimate goal of getting a loan is to get yourself out of debt in a quicker, more manageable manner, by getting a lower interest rate. The highest APR on one of my credit cards is 27% so borrowing $1,410 at approximately 530% I would have to be lacking all mental faculties. I went online and their one star reviews all express the same experience that Im currently dealing with, except my situation is fraud.
Birch Lendings responses to every single one of my questions were evasive and non informative. She told me since the money was put into my account, that Im responsible. I told her I would be canceling my debit account and changing my routing/account numbers. This will affect my credit temporarily but, it doesnt matter because I dont ever need loans or mortgages with my cash and cryptocurrency investments I have.
If anyone out there is planning on getting a loan, avoid this company at all costs and dont fall for their five star reviews because I cant think of any reason why a person would be appreciative paying 500%-750% on a 12 month loan and then give a raving 5 star review. Some of the reviews people borrowed $200-$400 and had to pay back more than $4000. This company should be ashamed for taking advantage of helpless people who are desperately struggling financially and burying them with more debt than they already have. I went on their site after reading the reviews and everyone was correct, they make you check boxes off and dont tell you the exorbitant and horrendous 500-700% rates youre obligated to pay back before approval.
One unfortunate woman needed $200 for a birthday gift and had to pay back over a couple thousand dollars for a $200 gift. Youre better off not paying your bills rather than digging yourself into a deeper hole. I already went to AAA for a replacement Identification card and will be going to my bank immediately when it arrives in the mail to cancel my account and open a new account. Ive already filed a police report with the Wenham Massachusetts Police Department and made three copies of the report and mailed one to each credit bureau.
Ive also been in contact with THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU to report BIRCH LENDING and I am currently waiting for them to respond back to me. This might drop my credit score for a while but, I dont ever require loans or any form of financial assistance, so to me, its just a 3 digit number that someone looks at on a computer screen that serves no purpose in my existence.
- 500-750 percent interest poor customer service insecure id process
Preferred solution: The loan to be eliminated from my credit report. I’ve filed a police report with the Wenham police department Massachusetts about my stolen property and fraud issues. I’ve mailed 3 copies one to each credit bureau and will be closing my bank account
User's recommendation: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS WITH THEIR 500%-750% INTEREST ON TINY ONE YEAR LOANS!!!

- - Needed 1200; total was said to be 2100.
- - Ended up paying 6500, not 2100.
- - A late fee for a non-existent payment left $20.
I needed 1200 for my wedding to wrap up payments. They deceived me and used consumer words not giving me exact numbers.
Lady told me total pay back was 2100. I believed and let the payments roll. Finally a year later my payments are done... but I paid 6500!
Not 2100.
On top of that after my payments concluded I was sent a late fees for missing a payment that didn't exsist so now my total is 20$ left. If your in a pinch don't use birch
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerBirch Lending "Engages in Deceptive Loan Practices"
- - Review discrepancies: five-star vs one-star reviews raise authenticity concerns.
- - If defrauded, contact the DOJ and consult a CPA and attorney.
Dear 'Birch Lending' Complainant,
I am writing to express significant concerns regarding Birch Lending, based on the nature of complaints and investigative findings. Please consider the following information carefully:
Review Discrepancies: It is concerning to observe a high number of five-star reviews for this company juxtaposed against numerous one-star reviews. This raises questions about the authenticity of these ratings and the transparency of their business practices.
Financial Risk: Individuals engaging with this company may find themselves in precarious financial situations. Caution is strongly advised before proceeding with any transactions.
Legal Recourse: If you believe you have been treated unfairly or defrauded, you may wish to contact the Department of Justice to report your concerns. Consider requesting that their websites be taken down, assets frozen, and operations suspended through appropriate legal channels. It is also advisable to consult with a licensed CPA and an attorney specializing in relevant financial and consumer protection laws.
Misleading Disclaimers: Do not be deterred by disclaimers or agreements that suggest you have waived your right to legal action. Such tactics are often designed to dissuade legitimate claims.
Advocacy and Action: Companies that engage in deceptive practices often address only the most serious challenges brought to their attention. I encourage anyone impacted to take civil action and raise awareness to hold them accountable.
I believe it is only a matter of time before such practices are curtailed. By acting together and utilizing appropriate legal resources, we can work to ensure fair treatment for all.
Wishing you success in your efforts.
Sincerely,
Mr. Enforcement

They advertise as offering loans to people with bad credit. That alone screams high interest rates and is a reason to stay away.
Why are you considering them as an option?
You act like you know all the ins/outs of lending, so why aren’t you using Wells Fargo, PNC, Bank of America or Citibank? Do you have poor credit and no options and are upset at your limited choices with higher costs?
