Seller refuses to resolve issue
- - Hestan fridge failed after installation: ice maker and airflow problems.
- - Witbeck and the manufacturer stopped responding after promising to fix.
Witbeck / Big George's sells defective products and then fails to stand behind them. We purchased a Hestan refrigerator in February.
From the moment it was installed it failed to work properly. Problems with the ice maker not functioning at all and producing a frozen glob of ice as well as limited ice quantity. The refrigerator fails to circulate air properlyresulting in freezing temperatures that cracked eggs. The seal was broken during installation or shortly thereafter.
The refrigerator is designed so that a sharp corner hits the refrigerator gasket if the door isn't opened COMPLETELY. Witbeck dumped the problems on the manufacturer and we spent hours trying to work with Hestan. The manufacturer stopped returning our calls. Witbeck promised to make it right and then they, too, stopped responding to us.
Several other minor issues exist with the unit, but not worth detailing here. Not a reputable company.
They are the equivalent of an appliance vending machine. Sure, they'll sell you the product and absolve themselves of any and all responsibility.

Appliance hasn't worked properly since it was delivered. Nothing has changed since review posted.
